In the early 90’s I been looking to buy a Ford Falcon ute and came across one at a car retail business in Auckland. I knew the car salesman from a previous place we had worked at so negotiated a price and told him I’ll collect the ute the next day. When I went back to get the vehicle, the car salesman was in heavy discussion with 2 young blokes about a car they wanted to purchase. When he eventually got to me, he tells me the 2 blokes want him to hold the car till Monday and by then, they will have the money in cash to purchase it. He asked why Monday and they said they have a horse running in the 1st at Ellerslie which will pay for the car. So he tells me the horse, I look it up and it had no form, drawn wide but David Peake was on it. In the race it sat 3 and 4 wide, went to the outside rail on the turn and bolted in paying 18’s. I didn’t have a cent on it but I did tell a mate about the horse who made enough off it to leave his missus for his girlfriend (which he endlessly regales to me when drunk). Missed opportunity.5 points

The reality is she is out of her depth. Her Deputy has gone awol to Whananaki. The health Minister is an idiot, The DG of Health is a lightweight. Robo is itching to print money. The lockdown we know now from events is madness, as elimination of the virus is a dream when there is an unknown number of asymptomatic people ready to start the virus round 2 then round 3 and on. All the deaths here are WITH the virus. The answer is for the vulnerable to stay isolated (I'm that) and everyone go back to work and try and save the country. We are not fighting a war, we are hiding under the bed.5 points

Very sorry...I apologise about suggesting a member get his arse kicked. Just MO. My initial reaction to someone I thought was breaking some of the basic rules of the movement that members sign up for. i was not aware that all bets had gone up in the past...probably cos previous it has been an oncourse raceday experience and I not personally a regular phone user. Like to get the bets from the man on mic....often they come shortly before race and I too busy having a fun day , meeting new people from all over NZ. But the negative angles taken on here does highlight one of the issues re NZ racing in general. Any sort of success or feelgood is generally met with cynicism and jealousy ,by many..4 points -

Extract from article in the Telegraph about Former trainer, Giles Bravery As a trainer, Bravery enjoyed his biggest moment when Torgau won the Cherry Hinton and was Cartier two-year-old of the year in 1999. He picked up the award the night his daughter Lily, now a singing student at the Royal Academy of Music, was born, making it quite a day. He was a regular subject of this racing diary, most notably on the occasion when he and his wife Fiona decided they needed to join a gym in Newmarket. Like the ducks in Paris, they were a bit out of water, it not being their natural habitat. Fiona was on a bike on one side of the gym while Giles was on a treadmill the other side when, beginning to glow, he decided to take off his sweater – without taking the practical precaution of stopping the machine. The jumper was halfway over his head when he lost his balance and the treadmill, ticking along at an impressive 10 kilometres per hour, spat him out like a human cannonball into the wall of the wall of gym where he lay, crumpled and struggling. Not only could he not see because the jumper was over his head, his arms were such that what was not blinding him had him trussed up like a straitjacket. Meanwhile, the woman peddling next to Fiona passed the observation that “the poor man over there has had a heart attack”. Despite having taken vows involving “in sickness and in health” (and this situation could have been construed as a bit of both), Fiona’s loyalty did not extend, on this occasion, even to admitting that she knew the “victim”.2 points -

People getting fun from BGP and it's in short supply for all at moment , it's a real good thing for racing , good idea for Championships too., I really enjoyed the Comp run on here this weekend so the team or competition punt is fantastic depending on what a person prefers . Just that I've read many posts from Rusty , he's a big BGP fan, think he posted some Winx pics on a BGP trip once so in to it and from what I've seen involved in things they run that's all. Iam told this morning that all their bets go up pre race on an app open to view or facebook . Good luck on punt today TM .2 points

He is merely showing his narcissistic and nasty tendencies. They have always been apparent, but he obviously has more time on his hands these days. I presume he has been laid off from his job as a meter reader for some power company. He is the sort of humourless, nasty piece of work that people would never have given the time of day to in years gone by, in fact he would probably have ended up beaten up in a corner somewhere, but these days with social media every dog has his day regardless of whether they have anything useful to say. I used to think it was worthwhile tolerating him as he provided a weird sort of "train-wreck" type entertainment, but I think this place would be better off without his lying, nasty, ignorant contributions. It does take the concept of free speech to its extreme.2 points -

Spare time today ???.....I suggest you read todays NZ Herald article by Fran O'Sullivan headed Sanctuary NZ - For a price ! Interesting. Basically it offer NZ citizenship ....after 5 yrs compliance .....to wealthy citizens who move to NZ and invest at least $50mil into areas that create jobs. I see the Horse/Racing industry being ripe for this type of thing. Her premise is that 2000 of these wealthy industries could bring the type of money into NZ needed for future......$100 billion. Also I found Sir Robert Jones's view on NZ economy etc and interesting read......nopunchespulled .com Like him or loathe him ,worth a read on his predictions ! At least Canterbury will still be strong hold of NZ Harness !!!2 points -
But there's the problem...the Brazilian report states that they used twice the dose than those recommended by Raoult, the bloke that has done a 1061 people open source trial. They also used Chloroquine by itself and not with Azithromycin. Add zinc and Vitamin C to the treatment and even though people are old and have have some underlying medical issues, Raoult has got 0.5% deaths with his protocol. He says that every patient provides him with additional information that is beneficial for the next. So why quote the Brazilian example? They screwed it up despite the information being made available to all.2 points

The impact of an Australian who came here , SUPPOSEDLY got signed off to own firearms by Police ,and then given 2300 rounds of ammo by police not having one physical Character reference is beyond many for a start, now we have a bad case of the Flu that from all probability according to veteran reaserchers was engineered in a Lab in either North Carolina or Wuhan that has us on our knees destroying freedom yet again . The Smart money was on protecting those most at risk leaving others to carry on buisness as usual outside our Flu Season.... id hate to think how this Flu seasons going to unfold, people are already way over the top now so this is going to get Ugly. The Testing in South Korea , who are considered the best at it,have already shown people that were positively infected as being negative then positive then recovered then positive again .You can guarantee with the huge amount of Lab work at Haste Worldwide accidents with new ‘vaccines’ will occur yet again, the Only 9 cases of Sars since 2003 were all lab related, and those were in Singapore and Taiwan .The head Scientist in China has already stated the chances of this virus circulating like all the others around Flu season is very high, then what? We are Poked . Looks like the critical thinking ‘conspiracy’ theorists were right . Who are we Borrowing all the money from for one, and Chinas role in all this ,looking to be the next Superpower, we have the 2009 Leader of the Socialist Youth helping pull the Strings with Helen Clarke whos ties are with the WHO and the UN . You are not straight CT.........as Nerula said ,if you are a member talk to the folk that started and run the movement. You have become over intoxicated by your own exuberance , wanting to be the centre of attention and begin a never ending banter with us Kiwis ,before you resort to telling us of your blissful life in bleak city , where the sportsman cheat, DWeir was king and the politicians never last 5 mins . Desperate for attention you latch on to a thread/topic about BGP who had a bad day with their betting on a bog track at Randwick , and not so good at other meetings but the main focus was on Randwick where there was plenty of NZ interest , especially with our current jockey OPB who is BGP favourite. Then you stumble on to a few of the selectors names so you decide to ridicule those . Then you guess on the amount bet etc basically cos a member put some of the texts on to the post. His arse should be gone....hes no better ...as the rules basically say no dickheads , no grizzling about the selectors etc or words to that effect. The movement is very well organised , great communication and IMO has been great in helping racing lift some of its weak areas e.g. improve on course experience , participants industry experience and boost attendance at promotable days. Including two harness jewels I have found exactly this and it is the first time all bets have lost although I believe their worst previous day was also on a bog heavy track. Touch wood Ive always previously come out ahead....in money and definitely raceday experience. You see ,it is a movement for oncourse race experience ! Success has many fathers , failure is an orphan. But I found it great value...$105 for 2 x days entertainment in front of TV , bets at several meetings etc. Im sure they will learn from that .....anything worth doing is worth doing badly at first.......you learn best from the odd failure.. Form pro's Neil is part of the team I believe but I think he involved in 3 of the 14 bets on Saturday ,but as I said there has never been the need for individuals to be besmirched publicly by a limpwristed , Victorian tosser. The build up to the late March event had been intense.......first there was the sale of a jointly owned yearling at the sales ,a first and great experience for many ,then the great concourse day at Karaka races leading into the big planned 'weekend' at Palmerston North ,featuring doggies ,harness and Group 1 Races. Of course this was thwarted by the lockdown .........it was looking to be outstanding ! Hence the Randwick day was organised at short notice.......good support for NZ racing at a desperate time. This of course carried over to Saturday's racing where bets poor but most understand losses do happen. Spread over a big crowd the amount per person very affordable...I've spent $1100 at supermarket last 10 days.......no booze ,fridge well ,we eat well ! As Nerula said "keep your nose out of it if not a member"......Sorry, they have a no dick head policy. And the umbrella is burned.....2 points -

This is very serious I trust you anyone you know would not like to end up like this, please stay safe stay home and look after each other..... Make no mistake. When loved ones are removed from your home by ambulance because the virus has hit them hard, you are not going to be able to follow them there, sit by their hospital bed and hold their hand. You are not going to be able to pop in at 7.00 pm for visiting hours. They are going to have no one other than exhausted and brave hospital staff to see them through days or weeks of barely breathing through a ventilator until they either die or recover. They are not going to be well enough to text you. You are not going to be able to phone the ward to check in on them regularly (staff will be too busy for that). During that time, they will be completely alone, while you sit at home waiting to hear whether they have made it through. Imagine that person is someone you love dearly. Because it's going to be a reality for many in the coming weeks. And if that person in hospital happens to be you, going through that ordeal completely alone, it would be nothing less than terrifying. Please stay home and only go out if absolutely necessary. Social distancing is imperative right now for your family and mine.1 point -

To be honest I've read little about it so don't know , only thing is we have to abide by court verdicts ,. As for AB , two samples positive surely he goes . No different to contaminated feed in most jurisdictions , or in Hughie Morrisons case a stable hand having a habit of peeing in a certain box at yard . The horse goes , trainer cops it normally but penalty adjusted as per whatever is on the rule books in jurisdiction . I think few years ago Red Mills sent out whole contaminated batch in Ireland , all the horses disqualified and trainers sanctioned only on paper to comply with regs . Discharge without conviction kind of thing .1 point

Trump was ratted that WHO didn't do anything to help wider America when there FDA reported the above spread of contaminates. Love him or hate him, he has a made a stand. Helen Clark has been found out & needs outing for gross negligence and failing in Duty of Care as took with delight Chinese monies in early 2000's....era of Smoke free changes. Chinese are in disproportionate levels at WHO...scamming and controlling what way things should go as they are biggest players with Pharmaceutical ingredients. Who took manufacturing off shore as saw cheaper production? When offshore in places like China the standards of products are not so easy to be checked and they are known to be dishonest. It's a virus that's spread because of stupid political social engineering & kickbacks. look at the bigger picture....1 point

If I read Jamie (or Barry) correctly, they are talking about the re-start not the ongoing programming of meetings. There is no statement that Cambridge will be dispensed with, all they are saying is until the available racing stock gets back somewhere to past levels, then surely it makes sense to concentrate on the premier track, not dilute the pool over more than one venue. It's like saying lets start at Forbury in the South - and remember we may have all forgotten after the period of drought we have experienced over the last 4 - 6 months, winter beckons (if fact the south got snow this week) so really why concentrate on a cold wet windy Cambridge Thursday or Friday night. I'm sure the Trainers just love Cambridge in the winter in the stabling facilities they offer! As for Saturday night racing - as much as it would be great, I'm sure the Thoroughbred code, and Ellerslie in particular, will get the last word as has happened for the last 15 to 30 years!1 point

Fuck me you people....make sure you read the literature. We've got sqillions of people dying every year from various conditions, the largest being heart conditions. One thing that is not good for heart conditions is hydroxychloroquine. So if you have heart conditioned type people testing positive to C 19 then don't give them this. But if I got C 19, and because I don't have a heart problem, the first thing I'd do is reach for it. For some reason, whether it's genetic or environmental, some people go downhill badly when they get C 19. Boris for example had a blood pressure abnormality that was big enough that he was taking stuff for it. Rumor has it that he was on statins, which strips cholesterol out of the system....both good and bad. Just so happens that we need cholesterol for brain function, so there can be issues in respect of removing too much good cholesterol. There's so much crap being circulated because the conspiracy theorists, nutters, Norman Know-it-alls and fraudsters just thrive in this environment. As a foot note, there's a streak of incredulity in my system at the moment because some of the logic has parked itself on a remote mountain. Can't put my finger on it at the moment but some things don't add up1 point

The CJC hold 7/12 of the ownership [ made up of North Canterbury and Amberley galloping clubs' shareholdings ] and harness have 5/12. For a long time, the CJC were very keen to 'cash up ' as the perceived value appeared attractive. However, a very significant proprortion of the 'spare' land is actually flood plain, and more is set aside for Transit NZ roading. The amount subdividable is not a great deal. The CJC are, for the moment, not now pursuing sale options.1 point -
