I think I'm learned enough WINNERS R1Trld, out, chased, led 100 too strong 1.37.04 last 600 33.98 R2 Trld, out Cnr led kept finding 1.09.89 last 600 33.00 R3 Led early dictated, kicked well strong 2.44.97 600 34.77 R4 4th of 8 outer, out 400 chl 200 too strong 1.24.69 600 32.89 R5 Wrkd, led kicked 400 strong 1.37.40 600 34.67 R6 3 back inner, angled out at 200 led, held 1.22.92 600 34.22 R7 3rd and 3 wide kept lifting 1.08.21 600 32.96 R8 drew 18, 5 back inner too good 2.30.74 600 36.28 R9 Crw, slow 10th very wide flew 1.24.39 600 34.10 So what is your perceived track bias, I don't believe there was any winners coming from in front, trailing, 3/5 back the fence, 3 wide on speed, last in running and very wide turning in. Don't make it up watch the films look at the results, bad day on the punt? Track was great and presented well for all horses.3 points -

NBR reporting that online gambling is on the rise as Cornavirus increases. Finally some good news.3 points -
Most people are not in panic , I've seen zero panic bar some bog roll stock up , they are following advice and buying a few weeks for health authorities to get a handle on it , see how the form plays out overseas and act .Age care have time to upgrade and drill down on systems . If it's all an overreaction that will be fantastic news . People need to chill the hell out on bog roll though, bizarre .3 points

Auckland Cup Day last 600m tImes.

That would be ideal. I'd be keen to do that myself but copyright laws prevents me using the video replay along with the sectionals. It was only a minor meeting, but here is the sectional breakdown with comments, speed ratings, fastest last 600ms, notable last 200m etc of yesterday's Rotorua ghost meeting2 points -

It will be like Alcatraz.......the Chinese Restaurant at Alex Park is an independent business so needs to 'be open for trade' but it has been stated that Harness followers will be excluded as customers. I wondered if the regular trotting group that has the front table there each week would venture out to get a glimpse of the last 50m of race. Sorry chaps ,no peeky , peeky ! I was thinking of loaning a mates Burkha but a security uniform may be the best bet ! The club should be saving money and have regulars like eljay to perform security and ID checks , voluntarlly of course !2 points -

surely owners could be present ,would still be under govt guidelines of 500 and get photo on wall ! (well 10 winners ) I know some syndicates are about 40 people but the limit could be say 5 per horse . Maybe I am wrong but feels a bit OTT in my humble opinion.1 point -

Alligator Blood swab sensation Carl Di Iorio@CDi_Iorio 5:03pm , ( One of Australia’s highest profile horses Alligator Blood has returned a positive swab from the race which provided his connections with their biggest payday. The David Vandyke-trained Alligator Blood has shown an irregularity to Altrenogest following his $2 million Magic Millions Guineas (1400m) at the Gold Coast on January 11. Altrenogest, which is also referred to as Regu-Mate, is a prohibited substance in male horses under the Australian Rules of Racing. The substance is a hormone treatment used to control the cycles of fillies and mares but can be used to calm an unruly colt or stallion. The Queensland Racing Integrity Commission (QRIC) informed Vandyke that the sample had been sent for confirmatory testing at another laboratory.1 point -

Don’t make a dickhead of yourself! I’ve rung the Stable and told them to use the old goodie, “The horse was in a shared paddock and drank from an infected water trough”. Worked in NZ so might do the trick here. On a more serious note, just let the investigation run it’s course. After that you can comment all you like. No sweat.1 point -
NZTR Coronavirus Regulations
Basil brush reacted to shaneMcAlister for a topic
My thoughts on this subject (for what they are worth): I think all this restrictions (a good thing) is to slow the spread of the the virus down so that the medical centres can cope and our whole community gets the treatment they deserve. Then Co19 will just become another strain of fly that a lof of us will be immuned too and hopefully it gets added to the flu jab. I think owners should be allowed on course for their race, then leave. I can't see the difference between 15 owners on course and 15 punters in a TAB shop. This disease is going to be so far reaching, businesses are unfortunately going to hit the wall fast.1 point -
What is AB's temperament like? Has he been known to be a 'colty' gelding in the past or recently? I will be watching this unfold with great interest. It would be a real shame if his reputation ends up being tarnished & his cult following lost if this charge is proven. Racing needs horses like him - tough and gutsy, hopefully through drug-free means.1 point

Geez Eljay, 100 horses X 5 owners per horse, that's 500 people on course .... you'd have to go back to the 1990's to remember crowds that big!1 point -
Well, he probably gets legal aid paid for by the govt and many legals may milk the system. You know, advise a “unanimous Guilty” person there’s a chance of getting off on appeal. It’s a lucrative profession. I’m of the firm belief that the law should be changed so that any unanimous guilty verdicts are unable to be appealed - except where “new and impelling” evidence puts serious doubt on the original verdict. JMHO.1 point

Here you go...5-14% of all viruses are corona viruses Didn't we have it last year ? Is it even new? Where is it tested ? in clinics? In hospital? In the general public? Basic questions go unanswered. It's on a par with climate change sculdugery1 point

Tough to break to kids today that footy off for a while after getting into the training for a few weeks and starting to get in the groove , at least we can still get out for some exercise and still have a punt for now , it's in fact our duty to help the country finances by keeping punting .1 point

Haven't purchased the new race form guide , anyone who has can they advise on suitability for arse wiping , size , smoothness , absorbability ratio , how many sheets paper would be recommended per wipe , sales could go up . I've got a ton of old race books kids will get through if required , a couple will be on the protected list though. Incidentally with online punting up and races stopping someone mentioned in another thread they beaming in Mexican dog racing , I couldn't find it on TAB site but the only official track there is in Tijuana ( shit hole) , Agua Caliente , look out for the ghost of Phar Lap as you watch them whiz round .1 point -

john - I don't think making exceptions will help the situation. Once you let 1 owner in then what about his wife and whatabout his kids and what about his mother and ......... multiplied by 100 horses at the meeting each with 5 or more owners. Phew - I know I'd be hot if I paid that big money and some bureaucrat said I couldn't see it race - thank God, Allah, Brian Tamaki whichever is your fancy that I don't have anything other than a cat these days1 point -

Corona Virus Impact on Racing
Ragamuffin reacted to Archer for a topic
Bird Flu and Swine Flu were also corona viruses. To continue on this path of media endorsed armageddon, will lead to it. The virus is in the community already, possibly 200 people maybe 2,000, it is an AIRBORNE virus and it is not going anywhere. We have no choice but to let it run its course, then when common sense returns, it will be relegated to all the other viruses in the community. Remember the common Flu doesn't disappear completely it merely subsides for the summer, to reappear the next winter. Humans gradually become more resistant and fatalities lessen. This will be happen with the current virus. Remember this is not EBOLA, this is not going to kill everyone, but sure as shooting, panic and chaotic behaviour will create an unstoppable movement which will fk up the majority of people.1 point -

To be fair Chris , this is unprecedented times . They have a ton of problems anyway and probably a little overwhelmed and under pressure now, quick decisions may have to be made that are not ideal . If they keep some racing and horses going round in next six weeks they deserve an elbow bump . It's seriously tough for all sports administration at every level .1 point -

Here we go again , they don't know what they are doing , no idea of the value of money . Recovering the Pike River mine drift could cost up to $51 million. The Government has approved another $10.8m to complete the project as well as a $4.2m contingency. The Government originally budgeted $7.6m a year for three years, totalling $23m. It then topped up the budget to $36m. So this is the third budget blowout in two years ,The cost has increased around 700%. They would spend less if they gave each family $1.75 million.1 point -

Racing has a chance to fill the void with sports being put on hold . Lets face it not many people turn up at most meetings so they can still be a viable option on TV as the crowd has limited impact on the actual races.Racing has the opportunity to take centre stage .1 point
