The Cubemeister heads off to the Ashburton Trials on Wednesday
chelseacol and 6 others reacted to Cubes for a topic
Well whatya know... It's 32 degrees here in sunny Cannerbury and the tracks are rock hard But Mrs Cubes has bought a filly and she has natural speed (according to the trainer person ) and is ready to trial Cubity has scaled back in recent times his stable....plans to rule the world thru global domination of horseness have also in recent times bin scaled back...reality has set in Yet Spring is only 9 months away and Autumn is just around the corner So with a bit of easing in the turf the smaller Cube Central thoroughbredness team will charge onto gloriousness surely Despite personally being rejected from the RITA board and by Winston the Cubinator's faith in NZ Racing remains strong We love the animal , the game , the sport , and the puntingness that is Thoroughbred Racing and really ( and rarely) don't give a flying toss that the morons in Welly in control don't want Cubes help So onwards and upwards The school motto was " never a footstep backwards " South Island Racing is on the rise foresure Cut the Cable Cubes and Out7 points -

harness racing yearling sales 2020
Iraklis and one other reacted to john legend for a topic
yes I know the new auctioneers are getting results but...…….even a 1 hour explanation on how to read pedigrees on harness racing would be hugely beneficial. the error rate was woeful. Simple things such as christen me only referred to as Christian me and left out in some pedigrees as unimportant. miss streisand was quoted as by bettors delight when selling a rocknroll dance filly. myeyesadoreya upgrade to pedigree was absolute botch up as the auctioneer spent time screwing up the name completely then mumble the important part. At least 20 more some stupid and some serious. lets hope someone points errors to them or am I getting too sensitive and improved prices only measure of success ?2 points -
A bit harsh on Dean Liz....he had to cover a lot of ground in a short space of time, then had questions fired on all sorts from all sides. Seemed to cope with it pretty well...whether you agree with some of the things he said is another matter......2 points

I know it gets there but it's in such a tailed off useless hopeless position I still have me doubts it's gonna get there and I know the result .I would have tossed the ticket a furlong from the bend .2 points

Well Nat won as expected but lets give congrats to the 4 th place Hereslookingatyou trained and owned by Phil Fleming at the forgotten racecourse at the end of the forgotten highway (Stratford) He took a big gamble but it paid off well with a 6500 pay out that could have been doubled with another centimetre.Even the bookies thought he must have been inhaling too much Aussie smoke opening her at 200 plus.It gives all of us small timers hope. Good for you Phil.1 point -

Racing does well from these sorts of rivalries. Let's hope there are several more between these two top 3yos. While I admired Catalyst's gutsy performance with the extra weight ad from the wide draw, I didn't like JMac's punishment of him with the whip. In fact, it just makes AB's win even more meritorious. Look closely the last few strides and see AB stretch his neck as far forward as he can. What a professional! What a will to win. Set weights on a better track in a fortnight ...can't wait. Feb 29 is going to be one helluva day's racing.1 point

Racing Bill Submissions
Pegs Pride reacted to Hangfire for a topic
Time marches on and the old Racing Board is certainly not a 'dead horse' (Winston's description), simply re-branded as RITA and no more effective. Again they steer us down the wrong track. Little respect for the codes or John Messara's efforts, and how much invaluable time wasted. Thankfully, the Select Committee seem a lot more clued up than RITA.1 point -

Moreira Time Warp
shaneMcAlister reacted to Red Rum for a topic
Time Warp ran up a sequence with Sir Mark Prescott up to listed class , same as Viva Pataca about 15 years back who did same . Prescott regularly gets a horse in form and runs up a sequence through the weights . Moreira hasn't been on Time Warp since Nov 2017 , now 3 rides , 1 win and two nosed out into second . I use the Racing Post or HK Jockey club sites for HK , Tab very average .Annoys me how the leader almost gets cut out by show for next race onscreen too , but good it's on TV I suppose . Wonder how they working the border restrictions with those based at Conghua , maybe they just not running those horses at moment.1 point -
Avondale is not a dump. In fact the facilities are equal of any club in NZ. All one has to do is close ones eyes to the public grandstand. Due for demolition anyway. All the boxes get ticked. Ample parking, easy back and front parade viewing, Handy bar, and view locations. All thats missing is people.1 point

Craig Rail.
THE TORCH reacted to Cyril Rioli for a topic
Craig was never offered the full time Otago job as he didn’t want to move to Dunedin having just moved to Invercargill from Victoria for family reasons. He was just used as cover as Jason Teaz quit suddenly and Evans was supposed to start early in the season but has only arrived recently. You’d have to think Craig is the obvious replacement when Davie Mac retires As for the North Teaz should replace Aaron White and Sherwin would be an upgrade on George1 point -
Gubellini.i agree.jason teaz is great.bruce Sherwin very accurate and don't mind trying to pick a winner a long way out.overall we have great callers.everyone has a preference like jockeys drivers.me j teaz.1 point

Agree Craig Rail did a superb job calling the West Coast races last month. Jason Teaz’s knowledge of participants in all three codes is second to none. Bruce Sherwin is without peer in form analysis.1 point

Its a shame....Dean McKenzie....promised so much but unfortunately has left us behind Didn't hear a mention about a horse or the owners. Sports and harmful gambling dictated the introduction....a shame....that's not what I bought into1 point
