I will reply to this a later date, but to give some idea what i think,The JCA AND THE RIU MUST BE REPLACED, THIS IS CRIMINAL. I will lose my licence if this comes about, but this is the worst decision i have seen and i will voice my opinion and being a licence holder,i am up tp lose it,but i did it once before and won the case, i will make sure justice is done,i will read all reports and then i will put my opinion up to make sure justice is done, unbelievable this has happened. have a look at the winner's ears pricked 50m before the line. The best horse won without a doubt.

I have watched the replay 30 plus times and I feel sick for the connections and it is beyond belief there was a reversal of placings. The onus has always been that any horse promoted, must be in all likelihood, would have finished in front of the interfered horse . Clearly, on this occasion, that is NOT THE CASE. In the Stewards report, it states the interference happened inside the last 100m,I believe the minimal interference happened inside the last 20m when Taroni was looking at the winning post and lost concentration...Bordequx Le Rouge and Taroni has been together almost the entire race and were head to head at the straight entrance and yet despite Taroni getting on one rein and having a big bo-peep at the winning post, she never looked like getting beaten and had her ears pricked at the winning post. i would say that this decision is even worse than the relegation of Magic Briar and that takes some doing. Lee is it possible to run a poll to get Cafer's opinions on this wrongful decision. Everyone is entitled to an opinion and that is the only way some justice can be seen to be done on this tragic and unjust relegation.

Protest upheld reminds me why betting on NZ races is ...laughable. The new winner had every chance to run the leader down and was not good enough.Tangerine dreams ...indeed.

I do recall a race sometime ago where a hot fav at Ellerslie ridden by O.P veered right to the outside the entire straight, hung on by a long head and retained the race. And there's Liegero's Auckland Cup to refer to ..as well.

    Colin Reeves

Ex Jockey and my uncle Colin Reeves passed away on Friday. Some older "cafers" may remember Colin from the 60s/70s.Colin was based around Timaru and Ashburton and rode for many good stables of the time. He was a very good apprentice and rode both flat and jumping races.Rode a few winners in some of the better winter carnivals and was top SI apprentice one year. Unfortunately Colin had a chequered career and was dogged by weight and alcohol problems, after a couple of assault charges at different racecources he was banned from all racecourses in NZ..After retiring as a Jockey he lead a colorful life with stints on the run from police and subsequently a couple of lags in the klink. He worked until 70 as couldn't afford not too and retired to Taumaranui a few years ago.Unfortunately his life was controlled by alcohol and shagging.Alcohol ruined his first marriage and since then he has left quite a few kids to a lot different woman. RIP Colin

    Have Faith In Me

The mighty Faith is on in the States check this out.....tiz bit of an uncomfortable read in some of it though, but its great to see him up there and whackin, go the mighty Faith!!!! Havefaithinme N seeks Yonkers Open win as season winds down November 30, 2019, By Brandon Valvo, Yonkers, NY — Havefaithinme N’s start in the Open Handicap Pace at Yonkers Raceway Saturday night (Nov. 30) will likely be his final race of the year and the gelding will try to add a victory in the Hilltop’s $42,000 feature to an impressive seasonal resume. Havefaithinme N has earned 10 victories and nine placings from 29 starts this year, good for $188,755 in earnings. Stephanie Torres photo. Havefaithinme N has earned 10 victories and nine placings from 29 starts this year, good for $188,755 in earnings for owners Blindswitch Racing Stable, Gary Axelrod, Good Friends Racing Stable, and Santo Farina. Although Havefaithinme N’s record isn’t out of place for a champion imported pacer, the 8-year-old New Zealand-bred’s road to success in America was anything but ordinary. Campaigned in New Zealand and Australia by Mark Purdon and Natalie Rasmussen from July 2014 to January 2018, Havefaithinme N established himself as one of the best pacers in the Southern Hemisphere. The Bettor’s Delight son earned four Group 1 victories at 3, including the Northern Derby and New Zealand Derby. At 4, Havefaithinme N added another Group 1 from a standing start in the Auckland Cup over 3,200 meters on New Year’s Eve in 2015. Havefaithinme N continued his 4-year-old campaign in Australia, rattling off four straight wins at Menangle, culminating in two Group 1 wins in the Chariots of Fire Feb. 13, 2016 and the Miracle Mile 15 days later. Havefaithinme N’s 1:47.5 clocking in the Miracle Mile established a new standard for pacers in the Southern Hemisphere. Although the Miracle Mile was Havefaithinme N’s final Group 1 victory, the pacer remained competitive at the top level until Blindswitch Racing’s David Litvinsky received a call from an agent in late 2017. Havefaithinme N had just finished second to Lazarus N in a heat of the Inter Dominion Pacing Series at Gloucester Park Dec. 1 and the pacer was for sale. “There was an agent I was dealing with, I had gotten a bunch of horses from him in the past, and he said there was an opportunity to buy one of the top horses in Australia at the time,” Litvinsky recalled. “The owner would sell the horse, but he wanted to race the horse in three more races over there. “When he contacted me, he just came in second, first-over, three-wide. It was really amazing. He was outside the entire race and just flying home, he lost to Lazarus. I was like, ‘this is something special.’ I got a group together and we told the agent we would buy the horse and we were OK with him racing three more times for the old owner and we would get the horse afterwards.” Havefaithinme N finished last in his next three starts in the Group 1 Inter Dominion Grand Final Dec. 8, the Group 2 Village Kid Pace Dec. 29, and the Group 1 Western Australia Pacing Cup Jan. 19, 2018 before shipping to Blindswitch’s stable in Montgomery, N.Y. However, Litvinsky and trainer Jose Godinez soon discovered something was amiss. “I think he shipped within a week or two after the races. We brought him in, gave him a week off, and let him recoup himself after the travel,” Litvinsky said. “We took him for a jog, and he was dead lame, dead lame. We brought him back in and in the next day or two, we x-rayed his back leg and he had a pretty bad fracture in a hind leg.” Although the exact cause and timing of the injury remains a mystery, the fracture wasn’t fresh. “I sent the x-rays to our vet as well as Dr. Nutt and both of them basically said it was an old fracture, that it was already calcifying,” Litvinsky said. “If it was something that happened within the flight, it would have been fresh. It might have happened during his last three races in Australia.” Dr. Nutt repaired Havefaithinme N’s leg with three screws. Although the injury wasn’t life-threatening, the surgeon gave the horse a 60 to 70 percent chance of returning to the races. Although Litvinsky praises Dr. Nutt for his work and friendship throughout the process, the ordeal soured what should have been an exciting venture with an imported champion. “It was frustrating when you find out it happened prior to him shipping. Was it just an honest mistake? We tried to get the money back, but basically, buyer beware,” Litvinsky said. “We didn’t vet the horse after his last few races. The vet report was before those races, so we really should have vetted him out again, but that’s hindsight. Luckily, he’s just an amazing horse and he was able to rebound from an injury like that.” After four months off, Havefaithinme N began training back. He qualified twice at Pocono in Sept. 2018, finishing second and first clocked in 1:56 and 1:53.2, respectively, with final quarters of :27.1 in both trials. “It was scary. You don’t want to see him break down or hurt himself. Watching his qualifier, just hoping that he comes out OK and doesn’t fall down during the race,” Litvinsky said. “Usually, you aren’t that nervous during a qualifier, but for him, it was almost like a race. He was super, he brushed and came home in :27.1. Just incredible, he’s an amazing horse.” Havefaithinme went 1-for-8 last year, his lone win coming in a $23,000 overnight at Yonkers Oct. 30. After a brief freshening over the holidays into January, Havefaithinme N found his best form this year. Havefaithinme N returned with a victory in a $29,000 overnight at Yonkers Feb. 9 and posted a win in Saratoga’s pacing feature Feb. 18. After hitting the board in three straight starts, Havefaithinme N posted three consecutive wins in April before taking on top competition in the Great Northeast Open Series at Pocono May 18. Although he finished sixth in his first attempt in the series, Havefaithinme N finished second to None Bettor A in 1:49.2 after a pocket trip June 22. “He chased None Bettor when None Bettor was super sharp, just missing by a neck at Pocono in one of the Great Northeast Open Series legs. He’s just that type of horse. He gives it all, doesn’t matter who he’s racing against,” Litvinsky said. Havefaithinme N’s remarkable comeback continued throughout the summer as he earned three more victories in overnights at Yonkers and Pocono. He’s raced at Yonkers exclusively in his last 10 starts, finishing second in the Open Handicap twice and posting victories in the $35,000 Preferred in two of his last three starts. “He’s just one of those horses that likes to win. Whenever you pull him up and a horse comes up next to him that looks like he’s going to pass him outside, he just won’t let anybody pass. He just goes into another gear when he sees another horse come up to him,” Litvinsky said. “He knows. He won’t give up that lead. In Australia, he didn’t race on the front a lot, but over here on the front end he’s a monster. If he’s 100 percent, no one’s passing him, I don’t care who it is. “He’s also the sweetest horse. He’s like a dog. My son goes up and pets him and kisses him and gives him love. It’s an extra bonus of having a super horse on the track and also in the barn. He just does everything right.” Havefaithinme N will start from post five in Saturday’s pacing feature. Jason Bartlett drove in Havefaithinme N’s two Preferred wins and takes the call again. The pair are 7-2 on the morning line. New Zealand-bred Bettors Fire N returns to the Hilltop after two front-stepping wins in the Plainridge Park feature Nov. 7 and 14. Ron Cushing drives the 11-year-old gelding for Heidi Gibbs. The third New Zealand import in the field, Saying Grace N, won three straight in the Open ranks at Hoosier Park before shipping in to finish second to Jack’s Legend here Nov. 16. The Jeff Cullipher trainee was also on the lead in his prior two races. Cheers Iraklis

  11. Outstanding efforts by - Ultimate Sniper (or as Aaron called him The Fixer), Winterfeii, A G's Whitesocks (where did that improvement come from?) Pass marks - Auckland Reator, Massive Metro, Mach Shard, Ashley Locaz, Marcoola, Majestic Man (big change around from his last few starts - looks back to his best again), Cruz Bromac, The Fixer (a lot better than his cup week), Star Galleria. Ugly - Bling it on (probably should just say all the aussies), Classie Brigade (didn't get the best of runs though), Tough Monarch, Our Uncle Sam (Let's leave AGH in the stand), Habibi Inta (how did he ever win the Dominion - raced lengths behind the others in previous races leading up to the Dominion), Aaron White - called worse than Bling It On raced - Called Ultimate Sniper the The Fixer until they turned for home, had Valloria improving around the feild when it was actually Massive Metro, failed to call Majestic Man running on until they crossed the line (head and nose finish), missed Another Masterpiece galloping for about 100M. This is not casual friday night at the ATC Aaron , this was broadcast live in Australia as well - I bet the aussues watching were confused or thinking WTF (I was thinking the later)

Yes, you are correct, but can you name any other Judicial Body that doesn't have an appeal process in place.I mean you can commit murder and appeal the decision. So what this says to me ,is the JCA is NEVER wrong and there is no need for any recourse by way of an appeal to any decision they make.WRONG WRONG

  20. It's not about the number of wins, it's about the pecking order in respect of perceived ability. TAS ran 2nd the Dreamforce in the Tramway carrying half a kilo more than Dreamforce, then ran 2nd to Kolding in the Epsom giving Kolding 4 kgs. Kolding then went on to win the Golden Eagle off 57.5 beating Sunlight carrying 55.5. Sunlight ran 3rd in the Slipper, then won the Coolmore, William Reid and Newmarket. What did Melody Belle beat? The ratings are fair....

Maybe the JCA will do their job and explain to the public how they arrived at their decision. In the meantime I think we could start doing their job and start posting replays of negative rides on this site. There are many.

  29. I disagree. It's all about franking form and that's where the NZTR is shite. You can't do it. One of the more important cornerstones for the industry. It's all about career best efforts and comparing them with other horses having career best efforts.. As for Melody Belle, she's interesting. So where was she before and now. Try this...Her first two starts in Aussie Her win in the Sires Produce was quite good because there are a couple of horses you can frank the international form with. Taking Aim went to Hong Kong after this race. Although Melody Belle beat him, he beat her at their next start. After running 4th in the Danehill (G2), he went to HK where he has won a class 2 but no World beater. Pierata is interesting though, in that his best form is winning the All Aged Stakes beating Osborn Bulls and Seige of Quebec. Osborn Bulls best win was in a group 2 but he finished 2nd behind Sunlight in the Newmarket. Seige of Quebec's best win was in a Group 3 but ran 3rd in the Toorak. So any rating from this form is around 110. Melody Belle's next crack in Aussie produced the following So her rating could not have improved beyond 110 but take in mind that in Alizee's win, Alizee beat Malaguerra and Hartnel over 1200 (not either of these horses best distance) , so Alizee rated 114 at best. So what about the NZ form...in the Livermol. she beat Peso and Crown Prosecutor. Peso's best win is a listed race and Crown Prosecutor (CP) since winning the Derby was beaten 12 len by The Autumn Sun. He was rated 120 so CP rated 108 on Aussie run. Hasn't won since. So now yo9u get to Melody Belles best race, probably the Empire Rose beating Aristia. Aristia's best win was in the Oaks beating Greysful Glamour. Her best win was in the Oaks Trial (L). So the win over Aristia wasn't special. So to the final start...the real form frank of her career, the McKinnon. She was beaten by Magic Wand, who is a 3 win from 21 starts filly. Yes she's smart but she was rolled by the likes of Magical, Enable and Sea of Class whenever she met them. She was rated 112 and she beat Melody Belle after having run in the Melbourne Cup and Cox Plate. So where does Melody Belle fit? Well she's no better than Magic Wand on 114. Then frank the NZ form. If she is rated 114, then Catalyst is rated 110 but I would put a "p" after that rating to express that it should improve. You've got to get rid of the emotion and face up to reality...

only person gulity here was the jockey of the disqualified winner as she tried too straighten the horse,if she didnt the horse wins by half a length and be lucky too even be a protest.... im no gallops expert but would have to be the worst jca decision for a really long time the only reason the margin was so little was by jockey discression next time just ride them out carve the rest up but punter/owner gets paid.......
