  2. Rising Ransom ... 2nd up today ...3yo gelding, (Ekraar-Gem Lover) three-quarter brother to Rising Romance ... finished well for 5th over 1200m first up and up in trip to 1400m. I have no 'inside info' about him, but I liked the way he finished off that first start ...this is right-handed and he's just learning. Should be even better when going further ... opened at $10 out to $12 on FF Good value imo

    SUBZERO

“GUESS WHO IS HOME?! A day I think that we can safely say that we were not sure would happen. He is back home in his paddock (with a stable in it) with his toasty warm WeatherBeeta - Australia rug filling his belly with yummy Hygain feed and little bits of grass around his paddock. He came home and ran laps of his paddock checking every inch of the paddock for any changes. You would think that he was 11yo not 31yo! If not for the incredible team at the Bendigo Equine Clinic (Victorian Equine Group) there would be absolutely no way we would have our incredible boy home. The whole team here from the incredible vets, the vet nurses and all other staff cannot do enough for their equine patients and their two legged families. The incredible prayers, well wishes and kind thoughts from hundreds if not thousands of people all across social media and who messaged me and text me, every kind thought shared with us means so incredibly much to Subbie, my family and I, we cannot express how grateful we are to each and every one of you. Mum has just gone out to do an evening check on him and he is very happy and content, picking at some grass that has grown around his water trough while he was in hospital. He has also been eating his dinner. Many people say Subbie must be half cat as he has 9 lives, I think he must be half lion because I think we have passed the 9 lives! But no more, Subbie! You need to stop keeping us on our toes now! Just a couple of photos now he is home. He would have both ears pricked if he wasn't keeping one warm under his rug and excuse the filthy nose, he loves to rub on everything that he should not.”

  7. Thank you for another sterling performance today, Maria. For sure the day got tougher the further we got into it, with several winners being friendless. Thank you to the racing gods for giving me two top-class team-mates today. Well done Wrinkles and Jack, both well-known to me. We must do it again sometime.

FINAL RACE: Comp R13 : Belmont R6 JOHN MARTINO 90TH BIRTHDAY HANDICAP RTG70+ $76100 2000m Starts 7:03pm First: 12 Spiritual Warrior Quin: 12 Spiritual Warrior / 14 Paddy's Shadow Sub: 13 Here Comes Lenni Scrs: 3,15 Well I hope that John Martino selected it, because none of us did! It was a good finish with many of us in with a shot half way down the straight but Spiritual Warrior had too much in hand, the 5YO gelding by Blackfriars, a well known WA sire, out of Angelic Heart. Justin Warwick had 4 starters in the race and finished 1st, 3rd and 4th. Paddy's Shadow, a black 5YO mare by Dane Shadow put up a good fight but had to settle for second in the hands of Steven Parnham. Congratulations to Trio K of Right first time (55 pts over the day), Wrinkles and jack who took over the reins half way through the day from Trio F and never looked back. Solid effort by Trio A of Memphis 2 (60 pts on the day), lynzim and Chestnut who rallied on for second and well done to Trio O of Koriokaramea, Trump (50 pts over the day) and Von Cettes who finished in third spot. 14. Not sure it is Winston's fault. It would certainly be pretty miserable out there today though. I used to enjoy watching the National from the top level of the public stand. Shocking all round that almost nine years since the quake nothing has happened to that stand. And no information to the public about progress, or lack thereof. I was staggered when I went to Cup Week last year and saw there were no facilities, despite paying a considerable amount to get in.. I know of many people who visited from afar and won't be returning. And of course the ones who travel miles to get there are the actual punteres. The local kids going for a piss-up don't mind if there is no grandstand to watch the actual races; and perish the thought, bet on races at other tracks. Once the punters get out of the habit of going, it will be virtually impossible to get them back. A whole generation of potential punters has probably been lost already.

Now that secondary school rugby is winding up there's no need to fear....the National Provincial Championship and Heartland Championship are upon us. So don't worry if you can't work out how to get Spark coverage of Japan. Just get along to your local towns main park, buy a hotdog, put a bucket on your head, buy a beer, toast B.J Lochore and watch some good old fashioned Kiwi rugby.

Attended both Saturdays and a super Carnival - good winter racing Facilities fine if a little crowded as no public area. The Balmerino Room luncheon superb value Great two days as the Club has to work with what it has, but lack of communication about Public area the concern Cup Week has no appeal given no public area - Members will be too packed CJC doing well in very trying times

To be fair, the problem with the old stand ( damage to foundations) was not discovered until fairly recently. I agree that the lack of information about the availability of the stand was inexcusable, as was the attitude that ' only a few people were concerned ' which had to be a crock of b/s.

He sold The Taj Mahal for good money , Rekindling gone .This Spanish Point 1.3 million guinea yearling Frankel from strong Cheveley Park family . Dam high class . Been gelded .Lightly raced . Nelson another new import by Frankel with lot more runs on board than SP .Got form around best . I see that Douglas Macarthur still getting entries but must have had problems , been off for few years now but must still be high up TW list .

  23. All resolved folks. If at first you don't succeed...must have been a "technical hitch". Tried several times so switched everything off, came back and sure enough it was resolved. Technology is not all it is cracked up to be sometimes. Though I am still not sure whether it was mine or the TABs!

I tend to agree, it smacks of incompetence and arrogance all round. Very misleading too, luring people in on the big days, paying almost $40 I think, and when they get in the gates they find there are no facilities. I can't imagine something like this would be allowed to happen at Flemington if there was a similar calamity in Melbourne.

    Riccarton races

Riccarton racecourse would be a bit of a joke if it wasn't so sad. What the hell is the hold up with the public grandstand? The "management" group at the club, in conjunction with their insurance company need to sort it out. Now. What's the issue? Under-insured, dispute re: engineering reports? Either bowl the thing and maybe replace it with an alternative or repair it. Hope it absolutely hoses down from a great height on Cup day.

    Jockeys managers ???

What is wrong is that the presenters on trackside act as jockey managers as well as 'tipping winners'.This is surely a conflict of interest, would Aiden Rodley for instance, take a ride for his client jockey as long as he DID NOT TIP said horse on air,or would he refuse the ride /opportunity for his client jockey in favour of the punting audience? We know in the past Steven Reid was putting his owners first and not being honest when tipping when he was facing the same conflict. Any tv tipster/presenter should be seen as truthful and trustworthy as they can manipulate the tote when they lie just as much as when they tell the truth. Any and all presenters should be sacked if they want to act as jockey managers as well as manipulating the tote with their tips, they cannot be trusted and the management of trackside tv should know better!

Has anybody noticed the emphasis given to the El Paso dickwit as compared to the Dayton Ohio shooter, and wondered why one gets so much adverse media coverage. Well, the answer is; The Dayton Ohio shooter was a card carrying member of the Democrat Party and that puts him above media scrutiny.

Uriah in the hope of you having some inkling of understanding... the complexities of deception within the political world has its roots seated where the power players have been seated...(United States of America) It is without question the most influential nation in the todays world... the past years of Pre-Trump(past 3 US presidents)... have seen a upsurge of corruption and a increasing gap of poor and rich. while these changes could be viewed as an expected outcome in an ever growing population... there are many indicators that would suggest alot of it has been man-made, and devised to herd the masses into a controlled enviroment. I dont expect you to fathom how far spread this is... but one need only look at the Climate change Agenda... (Move people into fear mode... so they act how we want them(natural reaction to fear)... then government brings the solution which adds a cost to everyone(regulations)) It is social engineering and manipulation been devised in the shadows.. and executed by those in Authority. If one cannot understand this concept.... then you will find it diffucult to understand the great depths and lengths Evil people in high places will go to .. to keep control of what they have established. President Trump and his trusted administration are working to remove the corrupted power players involved... The Patriots who know these woes.. support and highlight everything to bring that which is in the Dark to light. unfortunately.. some people have become so accustomed to the darkness.. that when light is shone... they find it frightful.. but blinding.. and this is not suprising... For as it was during Jesus's time.. The Jewish Religious establishment who had become corrupted imposed upon its people.. laws and many bylaws albeit regulations which had everyone tied down... and controlled. It is therefore no suprise Jesus was hated and depised when he set out to change the hearts and minds of people... to break them free from the control of the religious establishment.. And so it is with President Trump John 1:5

I do agree with Jeepers that careful education is very important before one sits on a horse in a gallop. Sweynesse, Rageese, Vanbrugh, Complacent, Telperion, Vespa, Wrote are all quite good value.

  43. It’s a tough gig Ohakason. The riding is very competitive especially with some promising much younger jocks. Mark Du Plus3 has been in Bris for 2 years or so and is really only starting to be established with good stable contacts and riding opps. But it’s still a hard gig. Wish TKA all the best (he has ridden a Winner for me) and hopefully he does well.

  44. If they keep pumping up the prize money the way they have been in that country, it won't just be retired trainers setting up stables. Butchers, plumbers and dressmakers will all be looking at becoming racehorse trainers. I look at some fairly ordinary horses in their form guides and just shake my head at how much they have won in stakes.
