  3. So your on record as saying there has been no diversion. That's a blow and a shame if you view it from the person/persons concerned, and those who support whoever. That means there is only 2 other alternatives doesn't it. All this name suppression just leads to speculation and those who have it really are mugs in my opinion,. Spending a lot of money just to delay the inevitable. If final name suppression was to be given,in this case the truth wont get in the way of speculation. Don't they get that. They really are out of touch with the world they live in.

    2019 NZBS Sales

At the close of trading, 100 Lots were sold for an aggregate of $4,675,000 with 30 less horses catalogued than in 2018. The clearance rate was a healthy 73% with the average and median both reaching an all-time high of $46,750 (up 38% on 2018) and $34,000 (up 46% on 2018) respectively. “I’m very pleased for our first foray into the Standardbred Sales,” commented NZB Managing Director Andrew Seabrook. “At the end of the first day of selling, feedback from buyers has been positive and it shows in the results. “The atmosphere has been very encouraging and the clearance will climb over the coming days.” Feed back suggests a lot of happy customers on both sides of the fence.I see our resident trainer TV was active , good on you

I think events like this can easily be avoided! I also think this should stay up so people can read this and understand how this happened and to stop this happening as it’s not really shaming anyone.

    2019 NZBS Sales

The old firm used to "flesh out" the pedigree a little too much in my opinion, causing the sale to seemingly drag on ..... I think yesterday had a good balance and was a great watch - so much so I might just take some time off and watch the southern effort.

    2019 NZBS Sales

yes a great improvement from the 1 set camera days. A minor improvement could be a pedigree expert to "flesh out" the great points including crosses of gold etc. in harness racing . lack of in depth knowledge very evident. (understandable from Auctioneers expert in thoroughbreds) but really congratulations in order.

  12. I think the issue of diversion is under consideration for 2 of the cases. Lawyers and Police will be discussing this in the meantime.

I'm sure you would have heard about that trial. Many people witnessed the incident and this is only one of many. The wanganui club are a joke for not getting rid of this useless person sooner. Hope next time this driver is responsible for an injury, the club get sued again for their complete negligence to dog welfare

  20. Which says more about the lawyers than the law. I forget who said it but it seems appropriate in this instance: "A lawyer will do anything to win a case, sometimes he will even tell the truth."

  21. Is this website classed as a form of "media" ?? Dangerous path to walk to breach name suppression orders. Irrelevant of the situation or knowledge among users on here. Lawyer stumbling across this thread would make for fun times for Scoobs.

Agree the track water problem is unbelievable..2 of my 4 dogs did pads...why put water on the track and then put the pads around 5 times after on the tractor which drys out the track....unfortunate we have robert roberts running things and no management...track staff dont want to be told what to do by a robot in the office...i was told when i scratched 13 dogs 3yrs ago by the riu that someone has to be at the track the day before racing.....this has not happened ...bow your heads again auckland your a disgrace..

  24. Pam I have stated that we will still be running around for $10,000 at midweek races at the end of this year. I think I was wrong! I would say we will still be racing for that paltry amount at the end of 2021.

  25. Hi Houla. Good win by you. I don’t know how the others picked Ekstein but I actually backed it. Had a good quin with the third horse as well which just missed. I’ve been following Ekstein for about 2-3 years. It got nutted in a Group one at Flemington one day at 50/1which was painful. By Shoals I think. Yes good comp and thanks to all concerned Good punting to you.

  28. I'm of the belief that ratings are in two parts. The first is the official rating (Timeform or Racing Post will do). Then I look to see the best single performance because that is the rating that is their best performance unless the rater has got it wrong. The ratings I have provided are the latter. The problem that I have is that even though a champion in New Zealand, many of our horses are inferior to those in other markets. Super Easy and Darci Brahma are two examples of those stallions. Due to franking their form, their official ratings are average in relation to what stallion material should be. The interesting thing is that their progeny are following the same path. Although stakes winners are plentiful of the breed in NZ, when they compete in a competitive market like Australia they get rolled. The "breed shaper" Darci Brahma's progeny couldn't get to the top over there. Neither could Volksraad, where he is a multiple champion stallion but in Aussie just OK. We're lucky to have Savabeel and Tavistock. They were proven in those racing markets and had good ratings. Gone are the days where a half brother to a champion make it as a stallion. The competition has moved on. That is why the likes of Almanzor need to be embraced. They rarely come here. When they do (Montjeu, High Chapparal etc) we do well. Note they are both stayers. Our breeders have lost their way but our administrators are at fault. We do not have a staying program. We have lost our edge because of it. If the NZRB and the NZTR don't get together and develop this program, they all need sacking.

  29. had contractually tied the NZ Racing Industry up for 5 years with Paddy Power & 10 years with Open Bet. The new Platform has cost the Industry $50,000,000 plus another $51,000,000 over the next three years, if TABCORP take over the wagering side of the Industry which when the true financial figures as to the state of the Industry come to light I can't see any other way out then the Industry will have to pay out the remaining yearly terms of the agreed amounts to both Paddy Power & Openbet. John Allen said that's a cost of $17,000,000 a year so say when it happens Paddy Power have 3 years of the contract to run & Open Bet 8 years. 3 years at $17,000,000 and then 5 years at $8,500,000 = $93,000,000 to get out of signed contracts. Why would you sign up a Company for 10 years and another one or 5 years on something new costing tens of millions, normal companies sign for 2 years even 12 months with the right to renew if both parties are happy with the running costs and returns generated verse budgeted figures for both. There were only two winners paid out in the agreements signed and the NZ Racing Industry pays nothing back for running 3rd eg last.
