It’s a bit like comparing Phar Lap with Winx. What’s the point? Steve Davis is the best of his time - period. The best of them today, no comparison.3 points -
I think most of us that love NZ racing want to be loyal and support our industry. These people entrusted with running the show aren’t helping that’s for sure ! I’ve never seen so many pissed off customers .3 points

The Magic Millions Gold Coast Sale 2019 after two days has been extraordinary. Their Live Coverage web site is Yearling focused, with huge screen back ground footage of the yearling in its own environment. The video footage of the lot in the ring focuses on the horse. It may encourage off site bidders. NOT on who is bidding. I truly appreciate Dave Ellis's sponsorship of the last 6 years of the Karaka Sales on line coverage. Will our Karaka yearling Sales next month 2019 match the investment into a vibrant Australian Racing environment ? 2018 was a record sale per Average sale For Gerry and GCMM and god knows what percentage increase will happen this year 2019. Steve Davis has unique auctioneering skills .He has the lowest" pass in rate "of any Thoroughbred auctioneer since 2014. Those stats are for Karaka, Gold Coast, South Africa. His voice modulation and pitch , verbal frequency, bullshit and knowledge and sheer charisma My vote for the best Auctioneer we have ever had. Steve Davis Peter Kelly, Jo Walls ,Rev Somervell Stu Hale rated 2233rd in Australasia. Rate your auctioneers here on this post . Rev2 points -

In 1975, when I was in Johannesburg, I wrote a small piece for the evening newspaper mentioning that New Zealand's Peter Kelly was a walking encyclopaedia. Ping. They had him there for the 1976 sales! Steve Davis is second only to Peter Kelly in my lifetime.2 points -

i keep seeing the jockey falling over that does them no favours as well . they should have kept the old website just added the withdrawal to your bank account option and thats it it actually was a good website before especially checking results but not now2 points -
As far as I'm concerned they could have kept the old site forever. It seems like it is just change for the sake of change. I haven't seen anyone actually say what it is about any of the changes that are particularly useful or better than what we used to have. The new site makes me think of the average Peter Jackson movie - too much fluff (cgi).2 points

Want To Race A Horse With M Pitman...

Here is your chance...cheap way to get in. Hi all Following on from the success I've had with a couple of large groups and with a bit of spare time on my hands in the next few weeks I intend putting a couple of groups together to race horses on lease. My good friend Rogie has a couple that I can race on lease... cost is a one off payment . If interested email pitstable@xtra.co.nz or txt 021701205. Horse is ready to race and will be well suited to southern circuit where there will be plenty of opportunities Michael Pitman1 point -

Q. Why would the best (or at least the second best) stayer in the country sit last and never look like being interested in making a mid-race move on a 61 second middle half? A. When he's out for a workout in preparation for an Australian trip! Conclusion: Possibly the most blatant "I'm just here for the workout" drive I've ever seen. Full disclosure: I had a small trifecta on the race - Turn It Up to win, The Fixer to run 2nd, Star Galleria for 3rd), so technically I'm talking through my pocket.1 point -

Still a work in progress, lovely animal, on the trip to learn about life, but I liked him yesterday as well. Never handled the corners - lost his revs, said Terry - and also suffered from muddling pace and tight quarters at times. Just put a line through it, he will keep.1 point -

For me Funny Face was a standout , sat wide just kept on. Really hope Zabair Bolah fully recovers , was horrific to watch. The fall aside it was a cracker day, weather , crowd perfect and good natured , no wallys just bloody fun and laughs. Coast circuit one of racing highlights of year for me. Something different, form within form, who's going to suit track, who rides tracks well etc. I've been to Newmarket a few times 2000 metre straight and Reefton etc with 5 6 furlongs round , the diversity of racing , brilliant.1 point -

Absolute nonsensical post re AS with no factual basis behind it. But as always you are entitled to your opinion and others to theirs Lee's stats sort of suggest you might be on the wrong track though re Driver Its off to Oz now Jack so with this blot on its form line you may get better odds next start especially in this race. From AS webpage(Cruz Bromac and Thefixer February 23 sprints -March 2 Miracle Mile} So it must be a sprinter as well as a stayer. my type of horse1 point -

This is really only one step away from race fixing SO it warrants attention from those paid to police corrupt practice. We all know whats happened but we resent not being aware of when. Q .......... If the race had been worth a Million would it have been any different. There's your answer then. Just watch those KARAKA races at Ellerslie if you doubt it.1 point -
THey have at least invented something unique. They had the progress of Race 5 & Race 6 at Trentham as running at the same time. Thats when its not crashed.1 point

I didn't put the "The Fixer" in my TFA or First Four because of his draw. He woukd have had to go 3 wide at some stage and would have been found wanting. In retrospect he may have run 4th at best if he went earlier.1 point

Good to see the Nelson RIU team were not asleep at the wheel even if i personally think he should have got longer. Disgraceful performance IMHO KHAL DROGO - challenged for the lead from the 1100 metres and continued to do so until weakening nearing the 500 metres finishing a distant last. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no clinical abnormalities. Stewards questioned Driver G Smith and Trainer P Scott in regards to the tactics Mr Smith adopted when challenging for the lead for an extended period of time from the 1100 metres. After considering the explanation of both parties, Stewards issued Mr Smith with a charge under Rule 869(3)(g) alleging he drove in a manner capable of diminishing his horse's chances of winning. After hearing evidence from Stewards, Mr Smith and Mr Scott, the JCA found the charge proven and suspended Mr Smith's Horseman's Licence from the conclusion of racing on 13 January up to and including 27 January (5 days)1 point -

I feel sorry for those on the frontline, patching up and cleaning the Fires. Unfortunately, they've tried to mirror the Aussie Sites, ( Corporate direction from the Aussie Corporates), regretfully, it's a disaster My question is, why not just use Aussie betting sites, if you want the same BTW< i just bet on Ascot, took 5 mins to confirm the bet...boom1 point -

I have a question. I tried to place a bet at Cambridge but fiddled and buggered around for so long I gave up and bet elsewhere. My question is: (remember I've only had one try) Can you not bet a different amount for win and place on the one bet slip now?? Do I need to do the Win bet first then another bet for the Place? We need the Romans. They conquered the world. A new TAB website would have been a five minute job to them. Good luck punting over the weekend everyone.1 point

What has happened to the jockeys for tomorrow , not showing this use to be the best tab web site in australasia for punters I live in aus now i use to skite how good this was , i e mailed Ubet qld to take a look at new Zealands tab site when they were upgrading .dead right to the other participant that said Heads must Roll1 point
-
I still can't believe that anyone uses the TAB website for NZ form analysis. It was only average prior to the change on Monday and worse now. The NZTR website is great and has everything you want for form analysis including every race video and trial video for every horse plus stipe reports etc etc.1 point
-
Sounds like you have a frustration similar to mine. Just as you need to click on the button for each race to see the scratching for each race it requires clicking on each race to see each result. They used to have a simple results page which didn't need so much damn clicking. I will never like this new site...NEVER!!!!!! Results also used to be almost instant after each race .....now it takes 5 minutes and more.1 point

I work a 10/12 hour day 5 or 6 days a week and try and find time to look at the results of the days racing and to look at the next few days fields. Takes me about 45 minutes to do that. I am a ex trainer/an ex breeder/an ex owner and a small punter....now that it takes me at least 2 hours to do the same with the new system im gone.... To get your fav jockeys rides for the day takes a click on every race instead of one click... No stakes advised for each race......etc.....its an absolute joke that when turnover is struggling they make it harder for everyone to play - Heads should roll.........1 point
-
Nothing to worry about. The IT team in Wellington are on to it.1 point
-
I don't know why anyone would use the TAB website to do the form for NZ gallops. The NZTR website is vastly superior in that regard.1 point
-
I believe the scratchings are listed at the end of each field. I, too, have had some frustrations but that does not mean this new system is worse than the old. Any change is frustrating especially when there has been so little change for so long. I think it not unreasonable to give it time - and time for us also to learn to navigate our way through the system.1 point

How does it feel to be victim of braincnnwashing? It's made you the village idiot on this site. Trump best president ever. Enjoy the border show....this has been planned since day 1...you know who is building the wall. The Dems are looking idiots like you when 99% of sane people want a secure border. Talking of ownership, return on "investment" etc, I saw Jamie Richards interviewed after You're Welcome won at Matamata today and he was ''"very pleased the horse won as it had some important owners".(some league players who are also in Te Akau Shark). Would have thought "unimportant" type's money was as good as anyone's when it came to sustaining the industry so comment pretty crass. In my unimportant opinion!1 point
