There is an appeal system but 1 or 2 points here and there don't solve the problem.it goes a lot deeper than that.2 points

This is what I don’t understand. At Nelson today there are 13 pacers with a rating 40 - 44. Why not card a race with that rating band so you have like racing like?. They could race for a lower stake and say a 3 point rating if you win. Instead we have r40 horses in with up to R 57 in one race. It seems to me someone somewhere is trying awfully hard to make the rating system mirror the previous class system with all the faults included that we were trying to overcome.2 points

The Fixer Fixed Up

Q. Why would the best (or at least the second best) stayer in the country sit last and never look like being interested in making a mid-race move on a 61 second middle half? A. When he's out for a workout in preparation for an Australian trip! Conclusion: Possibly the most blatant "I'm just here for the workout" drive I've ever seen. Full disclosure: I had a small trifecta on the race - Turn It Up to win, The Fixer to run 2nd, Star Galleria for 3rd), so technically I'm talking through my pocket.1 point -

The Magic Millions Gold Coast Sale 2019 after two days has been extraordinary. Their Live Coverage web site is Yearling focused, with huge screen back ground footage of the yearling in its own environment. The video footage of the lot in the ring focuses on the horse. It may encourage off site bidders. NOT on who is bidding. I truly appreciate Dave Ellis's sponsorship of the last 6 years of the Karaka Sales on line coverage. Will our Karaka yearling Sales next month 2019 match the investment into a vibrant Australian Racing environment ? 2018 was a record sale per Average sale For Gerry and GCMM and god knows what percentage increase will happen this year 2019. Steve Davis has unique auctioneering skills .He has the lowest" pass in rate "of any Thoroughbred auctioneer since 2014. Those stats are for Karaka, Gold Coast, South Africa. His voice modulation and pitch , verbal frequency, bullshit and knowledge and sheer charisma My vote for the best Auctioneer we have ever had. Steve Davis Peter Kelly, Jo Walls ,Rev Somervell Stu Hale rated 2233rd in Australasia. Rate your auctioneers here on this post . Rev1 point -

I didn't put the "The Fixer" in my TFA or First Four because of his draw. He woukd have had to go 3 wide at some stage and would have been found wanting. In retrospect he may have run 4th at best if he went earlier.1 point

What a super days racing this meeting has become, a real must watch looking forward to it ,how about Champagne Boom in the Classic.1 point -
Thats an interesting observation of the race and the way it panned out. Given the draw im sure if she had taken off mid race ended parked and blew out the last bit on a 26.5 second final 400 how would you and others assess that drive, Greg1 point

Your are quite right JS. I didn’t have a bet but that kind of drive is not uncommon from all stars when they have bigger fish to fry.1 point

its very easy click both the win and place box on your selected runner and then enter the stakes you want too bet for the win and place , for a 5ew or 3ew etc just click on win box and gives you a option too go ew click that box and bobs your uncle............ they have fixed a lot of the faults already and also the design faults, there are plenty more to go but once you get the hang of it, its quick and easy and will be an improvement lets just hope it delivers in the long term.............1 point

What does a 50 million buck undo button look like . Is it locked in a briefcase with Secret Service agents tooled up next to it. How far away is a safe distance when it's pressed , will hiding behind an open car door ducking down be good enough. What's the flash to bang time .1 point -
It does not have to be the CHC. It could be a smaller investment group who maybe want to do something similar to the CHC but on a smaller scale and they need a centre for their horses. It does not need to be Chinese. The Indians are also kind on horse racing. If the NZ industry wants to progress it is quite obvious it cannot do it on it's own --we are too small and lack the money. If this was not the case then there would not be any of the current problems. So continuing to tinker around the edges will not cut it. It is time to think outside the normal "business model" and try to attract investment and alternate ideas from elsewhere. From what I have read about the Messara report (I have not read the whole report) it falls into the tinkering category. The thinking needs to be must further ahead.1 point

I still can't believe that anyone uses the TAB website for NZ form analysis. It was only average prior to the change on Monday and worse now. The NZTR website is great and has everything you want for form analysis including every race video and trial video for every horse plus stipe reports etc etc.1 point

I bet a total of just over $400 Monday to Thursday last week, this week for the same period $0.00 bet as layout of form to find a few bets is hopeless. Thankfully Best Bets and Informant are out now so I can use them but as for betting Monday - Thursday lost me until form on race runners and layout to find it improves. So annoying that 50 million gets spent of Industry money and those in charge had and still have no idea of what is required. Sack the top management including your marketing, social media team and anyone who was in charge of the disaster. The marketing and social media raves about how good the new platform is and that shows them up for their total lack of the gambling business and customer needs. The positive factor out of it all is that Peters wanted to clean the place out so at least now he has a platform to more than fully justifying that much needed action. Nothing less than that would happen with any Corporate Company who has shareholders that they are held accountable to.1 point

They obviously never consulted the average punter as to what made them tick, it used to be a simple website to navigate and find info in fact one of the best but my initial thoughts on it have proven incorrect its an incoherent mess on the racing side.1 point

I work a 10/12 hour day 5 or 6 days a week and try and find time to look at the results of the days racing and to look at the next few days fields. Takes me about 45 minutes to do that. I am a ex trainer/an ex breeder/an ex owner and a small punter....now that it takes me at least 2 hours to do the same with the new system im gone.... To get your fav jockeys rides for the day takes a click on every race instead of one click... No stakes advised for each race......etc.....its an absolute joke that when turnover is struggling they make it harder for everyone to play - Heads should roll.........1 point
