Damn, the race just started....sigh, looking for info from page to another, never mind the slow reload of each page! ....where do we get provisional results !!!!!!! Nope can’t find it,, yes you can, instantly appears on https://tab.ubet.com/racing Never mind the “will pays quinella trebles “ disappear after the race runs, its ok, we’re playing hide and seek Mind you, treasure hunting might be the new game TAB invented Fantastic, one race per hour to bet on , trackside radio on another website tooooooooo, I DONT BLAME THE DEVELOPERS, JUST THOSE WHO APPROVED IT THE STUPIDITY AND ABSURDITY ECHOED BY THE THOUSANDS OF PUNTERS

I work a 10/12 hour day 5 or 6 days a week and try and find time to look at the results of the days racing and to look at the next few days fields. Takes me about 45 minutes to do that. I am a ex trainer/an ex breeder/an ex owner and a small punter....now that it takes me at least 2 hours to do the same with the new system im gone.... To get your fav jockeys rides for the day takes a click on every race instead of one click... No stakes advised for each race......etc.....its an absolute joke that when turnover is struggling they make it harder for everyone to play - Heads should roll.........

I still can't believe that anyone uses the TAB website for NZ form analysis. It was only average prior to the change on Monday and worse now. The NZTR website is great and has everything you want for form analysis including every race video and trial video for every horse plus stipe reports etc etc.

Personally, I would just prefer a decent handicapping system which allows older geldings, and the more moderate types to find their level, but still be able to race competitively. Your 'hybrid' races sound a good idea however. My dislike of pure claimers [ unprofessional, sure, but I'm not the only one who thinks that way ] is that a cherished stable member may find itself going somewhere you would rather it didn't.

I'm shaking my head. Losing the enjoyment in picking horses, reading the form, owners, trials and so on, has instantly disappeared. I bet a total of just over $400 Monday to Thursday last week, this week for the same period $0.00 bet as layout of form to find a few bets is hopeless. Thankfully Best Bets and Informant are out now so I can use them but as for betting Monday - Thursday lost me until form on race runners and layout to find it improves. So annoying that 50 million gets spent of Industry money and those in charge had and still have no idea of what is required. Sack the top management including your marketing, social media team and anyone who was in charge of the disaster. The marketing and social media raves about how good the new platform is and that shows them up for their total lack of the gambling business and customer needs. The positive factor out of it all is that Peters wanted to clean the place out so at least now he has a platform to more than fully justifying that much needed action. Nothing less than that would happen with any Corporate Company who has shareholders that they are held accountable to.

This is what I don’t understand. At Nelson today there are 13 pacers with a rating 40 - 44. Why not card a race with that rating band so you have like racing like?. They could race for a lower stake and say a 3 point rating if you win. Instead we have r40 horses in with up to R 57 in one race. It seems to me someone somewhere is trying awfully hard to make the rating system mirror the previous class system with all the faults included that we were trying to overcome.

I took a while to work out how to navigate round the new TAB site on my phone but generally ok now. However, I gather some people with older systems or slow connections are having major issues. It will be a pity if the boffins haven't ensured the new system works for all (cf the census).

Find the meeting then click on the EXTENDED FORM button over to the far right. Then you'll need the find which race the jockey is having their 1st ride in. Click on their name and it will bring up another window with the horses stats etc. Within that window is a tab called JOCKEY. Click on that and then it'll bring up all that Jockeys rides for the day. Simple aye

No form or drivers for last two at Invercargill. Absolute disgrace for local mtg. Shut out of a couple of collects today due to being unable to legally verify location. Of course they were winners, but no problems accepting losers! Have sorted that wee issue but not lack of form/drivers for local mtg. Lift your game team.

Is there anywhere on this new site you can click on a jockeys name and get all his rides. Another thing is i don't want to click each individual race to get the result.One push on the meeting and i should get every result. Enthusiam (of the little that remains) is slowly ebbing away.

The site works well and is easy to use. Problem for me is that they do not pay out on last !

I doubt that GRNZ had a lot of input into what has eventuated, lad27, but I wish you well and trust you will back many winners this year.

Talk about making a simple task difficult! HRNZ are ninja level at screwing things up! Here's a ratings system that would work 10x better than the current one. The minimum rating is 0 2yo's start as a rating 10 3yo's start as a rating 20 All older horses start as a rating 30 One point penalty for each $1k of winning stakemoney - up to a maximum 10 points per win. One point penalty for each $2k of 2nd or 3rd placemoney - up to a maximum of 5 points per race. (Will only effect $15k+ races) Unpenalised 2nds & 3rds, plus 4th & 5th placings - No change to points. 6th, 7th & 8th one point reduction per race. 9th and further back two point reduction per race. Junior drivers races, or when a junior driver used in an ordinary race - half penalties. Amateur drivers races - special handicaps ... because they are friggin special! Once you reach 100 points you're Open Class. No further handicaps unless you drop below 100. No discretion.. All ratings adjustments happen automatically. Still room for discretionary handicaps to be programmed.. There you have it. A total of 10 minutes to think up, and and even less for a complete moron to understand!

I quite like the idea of claimers here if they can't have a proper handicapping system. That is really a self handicapping system and I like betting on them. It would certainly provide opportunities for sound older horses like the above to race on at a level where they can win, as well as provide more opportunity for slower lower grade ones.

Good to see that has now changed and the days race meetings menu stays and isn't replaced with sporting codes. They do need to do something about the opening odds and fluctuations from opening time the day before and 9:00am raceday when scratchings and not large bets has resulted in odds changing. The race market below shows what the opening odds were on opening yesterday since then 3 scratchings so the opening odds shown represents a market at 96% and the odds now are a market at 125%. The fluctuations need to factor in the deductions from the scrachtings as most punters will see big changes in the odds and think they are due to large bets when in fact its won't be when scratchings are removed raceday morning.

I don't know why anyone would use the TAB website to do the form for NZ gallops. The NZTR website is vastly superior in that regard.

I think its fair to say the jury is out. Given many of the issues i have heard about are simple fixes one wonders how much beta testing was carried out by potential and current users. They are the best at working out what is not working in any business/IT upgrade. I suppose that was just too much much for the brains trust to work out

One of the problems we have is that there aren't really the up and comers coming through to the open class ranks to put some pressure on the higher weighted horses, and thereby let them ease back in the weights slightly. We don't have lower grade horses stringing wins together as they come through the grades to make the open class races interesting. One reason for this is the inconsistent tracks they race on and poor programming of races. There is no feature racing at Riccarton for 70 days at this time of year. Just imagine if Sydney racing shut down for 70 days over Xmas. All three feature races at Auckland on New Years Day were won by lower rated horses, which tends to show the weakness of our established open handicappers. Having said all that though some horses are winning pretty good money in small fields because of our lack of depth.

I’m not suggesting any $ be given back. Read my post again. I was suggesting that Awapuni and Foxton get together and discuss a merger. Selling their Awapuni asset and spending some of the proceeds on upgrading Foxton - a far better wet weather option with its sand base. Cheaper local real estate, a beach nearby, easy access etc. The Feilding Jockey Club is still going strong isn’t it? Has its annual Gold Cup meeting at Awapuni. The Racing Club in Qld that has the highest average revenue per race is the Tatts Racing Club. It has just received an accolade from Racing Qld for marketing innovation. It conducts 4 race meeting per year and has the richest G1 in Qld for fillies and mares, The Tiara. It doesn’t have a race track. It pays a huge rent to race at Eagle Farm and Doomben, yet still makes a profit on its race days. Just an example. So why have so many tracks covering such a small area in the North Island? I think the Foxton/Awapuni thing is a no brainer. JMHO mind you. The Club would end up financially stronger. They could even keep a small bit of the Awapuni land and develop it themselves. Just one example of what “could happen” if the Industry proactively helped themselves. This doesn’t take away responsibility from NZTR and it’s Administration - and that’s another story.

I do not know much about how the NZR/TAB support clubs. Obviously there is the input into the stakes but in terms money to up keep tracks and other infrastructure , I do not know the detail. But if a club can upkeep a track and associated building without central industry support why should it have to close down the track? As for the money from a community asset going to fund uncontrolled expenses etc. in Petone --they can take " a running jump".

This might help some people. To find Trials form, stipes reports, left or right handed, track conditions, owners for racing. Go to racing, click on PDF Form, find race meeting you want and then go across to expanded and then it's all there for all horses in each race. Only place I could find an index for meeting was also in PDF, and then Booklet for the meeting you want and it's on page 1, Still cannot find where to to put on poker bets.
