    Tapanui Cup

With all of the negative racing talk these days I think the Tapanui Racing Club deserve congratulations for their $40,000 Cup this weekend. That is a lot of extra money the club has found for that race, and they have also boosted some other stakes on the day. Very few clubs bother doing that anymore. Congratulations also to the Tylers for getting the first race off the ground.

I get it.Drivers are immune to criticism and do not make mistakes. Does that apply to the stipes and other officials? By the way,why do you think only punters express negative opinions. My xmas request for you would be not to take things to heart.

One of the biggest problems facing both codes is the lack of availability of reasonable facilities for both professional and amateur participants to operate from, close to large population bases. The cost of land around Canterbury and other bigger cities makes it almost impossible for aspiring young trainers, and also part timers to purchase their own properties. What is the industry doing to ensure those who want to participate have access to reasonable facilities which are run in non partisan, professional way. Not enough in my opinion.

Heres the RIU report on its performance as a 1.60 shot " SMOKIN BY - over-raced rounding the final bend when held up for clear racing room. Shifted outwards near the 300 metres. Placed in restricted room in the early stages of the run home" To all the conspiracy theorists out there, it was a mere coincidence that his brother who trailed Smokin By won the race after using the passing lane vacated by his brother early in the straight. It looked a lot worse than it actually was. Yea Nah

    For what its worth....

Callers overwhelmingly against UN Migration Compact by Christie Now that the great unwashed are finally starting to hear about it, Newstalk ZB reports that the vast majority of its callers on the subject are opposed to New Zealand signing the UN Migration Compact, although it is probably already too late by now. quote. Jacinda Ardern originally said it was to be signed by December 17th and is now saying December 20th is the deadline. She is also saying that the final decision will be made by the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Winston Peters. Winston is our only hope now, guys. God help us all. quote. Good point. Why bother doing things through the right channels when arriving on a leaky boat and tearing up your passport will achieve the same effect? This is madness in the extreme. quote. Well spotted. Many of us believe that Jacinda is wanting to follow in Helen Clark’s footsteps and get a cushy job at the UN. As a result, she is hell-bent on signing the compact. I have to admit, I live in hope though, that this compact will spell the end of the UN as we know it. Donald Trump will pull the US out of the UN the minute it tries to force all countries into accepting the terms of the compact, which Angela Merkel has indicated will happen if two-thirds of member states agree to make it binding. Once the US has gone, taking its funding with it, the UN will not be able to function. This cannot happen quickly enough. quote. The trouble here is that all this is coming too late. The media has kept a stoic silence over this issue for months, and so, for that matter, has the government, which has known about this compact since March. Jacinda claims she would never sign New Zealand up to anything detrimental to our sovereignty when it comes to immigration policy, but either she is lying or simply does not understand the ramifications of the compact. I suspect she doesn’t understand it, and maybe she doesn’t particularly want to understand it fully either. If the government was not intending to sign, we would know about it by now. The fact that we are still surrounded by ‘maybe’ and excuses about deadlines all indicate to me that this ‘open and transparent government’ is trying to pull a fast one yet again. We have probably signed up already and the government is hoping that the facts will get lost amid the Christmas festivities. Let us hope that this is not the case and that we have not signed as yet, and that Winston Peters does the decent thing and pulls New Zealand out of it. I fear it is a vain hope though. It will all get lost in the festive season, as the government is hoping. Once we are all back on deck we may not realise that New Zealand will have a very different future than the one we thought we would have due to a Marxist prime minister and a sad, bitter old man. I will gladly apologise to both parties if I am proved wrong but don’t hold your breath. As we all know by now, I won’t be doing that anytime soon.

  8. Well worth a watch , I don't think we have seen freedom around the world under so much threat as we are seeing today or certainly not in the last 60 years . Winston's betrayal on immigration , the deal signed is the similar to the Paris climate agreement and are probably linked , all voluntary until you try and leave , its a trap and we will do as we are told , many of the country's who signed are refugee exporters , I can see the UN phoning cindy , we have a spare 50,000 refugees this month , they are on the way , thanks . Globalist socialist cindy and her attacks on anyone who owns there own home and above , home ownership seems to be her cut off point , rural NZer's constantly under attack from lefty extremists , democratically elected Trump under threat , Britain being held to ransom by unelected EU officials , Merkel wanting European country's to hand over sovereignty to the EU , China has appointed their leader as leader for life , a dictator , it goes on . Good to see the Ausses and Trump standing their ground on the immigration issue , the issue that caused Brexit , riots in Belgium , the Netherlands and the rise of right wing politics in Germany and France , every action has a reaction , the socialist globalists are pushing hard left , they want world domination , one government , the reaction will be the strengthening of the right world wide , no doubt about it troubles brewing .

    Trump written off

This is very revealing... essentially the prosecution against General Flynn backed off when they realised they were going to set a precedence... when they knew very well General Flynn was registered under FARA. The media on the other hand are being played... echoing the "lock him up sentiments" and getting all their brainwashed subjects to echo in unison The upshot of this for the Trump/Military round-up team.... is it brings those in the dark into the light... or at least onto common ground!! (on the same page) i wonder if the Trump shutdown could be used to enact a state of emergency and possibly round up some of the criminals??

Great stakes indeed .Fancy running around in a rating 72 for 40K. Leaves some of the big clubs for dead I stand to be corrected but next year is there 125th anniversary and have heard the club has some interesting promotions in the pipeline.

Xmas request/ Can those gamblers!!! who wish to complain about drivers/riders please go to another site and complain about losing their money. Getting sick of people complaining about rorts perceived or not when they lose. Otherwise get off their asses and away from their computers and get out and jump in a cart in all sorts of whether be it fine or wet in the early hours like 3am like I do and really experience what NZ racing is really about.

"Mr Jensen said he was looking forward to leading the HRNZ team and working with the board to deliver meaningful change" Well then top of his list, he should replace that incompetent Stand starter P Lamb!

  16. What do Cafe followers think of the overlap of Interdom meeting races on Trackside 1 with Alex Park on Trackside 2 tonight? With races overlapping from 8 till 9.30, we are going to have to watch 1 channel live and record the other in our home. While being on Trackside 1 should help Interdom turnover, one would think betting on domestic harness racing is not being optimized by programming.

  17. From what I was told from Robert a couple of weeks ago it is a single meeting race cause there is not enough dogs to fill 20 races.
