  1. Well The Cubinator was going to hold it at Riccarton for the Christmas at the Races thingy but we had to be on business in Wellington that day so we held it a week later. Cubes only has two employees who work one half day each a week so we have a Christmas function for each of them one-on -one . Yesterday The Cubemeister got one of those lime scooters jobs for the first time........Tip for punters here....If you are 56 years old and had a vino or two and weigh over 100kg and the pavements are like crap be careful Anywhoo.....Spice Paragon asain fodder for lunch....few beers at the best bar in Chch at OGB.....then onto the Cassie for a nudge. Now cunningly earlier in 2018 Cubity had put a couple bets on the TAB......200 bucks on the Warriors to make the eight @ $2.50 and a lazy nifty on the Poms to make the World Cup semis @ about $3.75... Astute Racecafers readers will know Mr Cubes is a place-bettor thenceforth the not winningness bets on The Warriors/Pommy bastards but realistic outcomes if the stars aligned and they over-achieved.... So we had $550 bucks to spend on the punt for our Christmas function......$275 each So Cubes had a go @ some Baccaret game that still had some rules that are not understood here at Cube Central.....but whenever Cubes make a bet all the Asian people bet on the other thing and Cubes did his dough fast . But Hectangle had some luck on the Roulette and then we got a tip on a greyhound which came home and then we had a bet on the cricket in Aussie and then we lost all our dosh(which in fairness was winnings anyway) on Blackjack And that was one of our two Christmas functions done and dusted . And we had fun.

  3. Victory for Trump , this guy can do no wrong , he's a master tactician . This week a leading Chinese business women was arrested in Canada to be extradited to the US , that's a pretty big slap for China but they have had to suck it up , Trump is playing hard ball with China and the response today is (drum roll please ) China has just purchased there first shipment of soybeans since the tariffs were introduced , that's another big win for Trump and a sign of good things to come for the USA . And of course don't forget another big win , Stormy D has just been ordered to pay Trump $300,000 towards his court costs for the court case she took against him and lost .

i think you will find the usa racing is a avenue for the nzrb/tab too maximize their returns from there gaming/pokie licences around the country by allowing them too open earlier......

Correct me if I am wrong but no US harness on trackside now Laz has retired. How come we get the gallops but not Harness when the harness code has a lot more interest from a kiwi perspective with Dexter driving there. Also from a breeding angle horses such as Bettors Delight & Sweet Lou etc have crops racing.

What a bloody big yawn and probably amongst their top 5 meetings. $1.50 , $1.30 , $1.80 back 1 looser and your probably stuffed for the night. TAB must love it , punters chasing their tail. I have been watching this game for 40 years , I have in excess of $15k in my account and I cant see any sensible value !! Nearly finished with this circus, oh by the way I might have lost $ 20 bucks. As for the Jeremy Wells debarkle , that will cost you more than you will ever believe. Go the Blue & Stars just F*(&^%ing up the game.

More than likely but what really puts off punters are RIU decisions such as the one in race 2 last night. Absolute shocker by stipes and im sure the box seat may well have some sort of comment about it this week. Mr Yips should have gone MR YIPS - veered inwards abruptly away from RUBY ROSE who was being taken forward to lead when approaching the 1600 metres and shifted inside the marker line before being steadied and re-entering the field. The all clear was withheld while films were reviewed of this incident to determine firstly if MR YIPS had gained an advantage by racing inside the pylons and secondly if there were grounds for protest from any placed runner. Films established that MR YIPS had gained no advantage by racing inside the markers and Mr Herlihy had complied with his obligations under the Track Markers Regulations in that there was sufficient room for him to re-enter the track when he did so due to the field being positioned wider on the track. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners. MAGILLIGAN POINT - inconvenienced near the 1600 metres and had to race wide for some distance before it was able to be eased inwards and back into the two out position. Driver J Stormont advised that he was unable to activate the removable deafeners due to the cord breaking. ROCK N SHARD - had to be steadied near the 1600 metres due to an easing of the pace. Raced keenly thereafter. COMIC BOOK HERO had to be steadied near the 1600 metres due to an easing of the pace. MAMMA KNOWS BEST - inconvenienced near the 1500 metres having to shift wider. Raced wide from the 700 metres.

Those short divs are bread and butter for some big punters and also where most if the TAB turnover comes from.

  12. Things are looking up , I did wonder why we haven't heard much on the TV about the scammers gathering in the coal capitol of Europe , Poland . The global rule book on climate change is in trouble , James shaw is doing a cry baby , O'dear some country's are more concerned about prosperity than global warming what a surprise . It seems some country's will only agree to rules that are very permissive (his words) so that their gross domestic product isn't affected . Clearly he wants to dominate our lives at any cost with his view , an extremist climate view of the world and he wants to dominate our lives and how we live . There seems to be a clash at the trough , climate extremist views , pragmatism and those who don't care and just want hand outs . No doubt there will be a face saving announcement when it's time to go home but make no mistake a lesson in reality is in progress in Poland , perhaps we should thank the French , they certainly have hammered the schoolboy macron . What a scam , thousands flying around the world , burning fuel spending up large on a fools mission , shaw is demonstrating how naïve he and the greens really are .

  14. Excellent post Tim. He has had a lot of interesting ideas over the years including pin hooking for RTR. Would never die wondering and has allowed his owners the opportunity of seeing their horses win races..Isn't what that it is all about

The fact it even started at Beaudesert tells the story!! Best thing about Beaudesert is that it’s close to Kooralbyn Golf Course - a great golf course! (Former haunt of Jason Day)

  19. what a post: 1. The stipes don't do their job properly in New Zealand. 2. So you don't think it is a conflict of interest to have TV presenters purporting to be objective tipping runners in races in which they have booked their rider/riders on one/some of the runners? You don't think these clowns influence the tote given how low the turnover numbers are these days? I have no problems with jockeys, families of jockeys betting, drivers talking, stipes can look after him. But jockeys managers? Nope. Banned in Hong Kong. Now NSW. It's a no-brainer to protect what little integrity the industry has left.

    Weakest G1 Ever ?

Insider Liz You obviously do not understand? Age group racing is completely different story. Best young horses without 200 hundred convictions or low grade defeats entitled to have a go on potential. The 2 & 3 year olds will see the best , elite perform at the highest level. Those with as many convictions as presented in that “G1” have more than had their chance at the highest level. Not capable , should not be running in a race that promotes allegedly the best NZ to offer the world.

    Trump written off

Praying Medic Retweeted Santa Plissken ‏ @WyattEarp7h7 hours ago More Trump is doing exactly what we hired him to do. Destroying the NWO was part of his mandate. He is doing it without the use of the army or war. The people of the EU are seeing what a strong leader looks like. The best thing about Trump is the trickle down effect on other nations. 189 replies2,865 retweets6,602 likes Reply 189 Retweet 2.9K Like 6.6K Direct message

jeez give the guy a break. 1st day calling did a good job. no time to create his own style .I wouldnt want to work for some of you. Demand excellence or else !!!!!!!!!!! (on first day of course) Some commentators stayed too long ,great in their day but sadly enjoyed the limelight too much and refused to step down . a couple had farewell parties organised but still would not take the hint lol. Reg Clapp was one that springs to mind Syd Tonks another. in my opinion.
