Mardy's Cup Week Comp $650.00 Prize... Results thread and FINAL Standings
chelseacol and 6 others reacted to Mardy for a topic
Ok all here are the rules and detail of prizemoney etc.The comp will run from Saturday 10th November and finish the following Saturday the 17th.This comp is based on $1ew where you pick 1 horse per race BUT in one race you can have a BEST BET which will make your pick $2ew.Too keep things simple-ish if you pick a scratching then it will just go onto the TAB Sub.Picks will close when the first race at the nominated meeting closes. Thanks to Leigh and Col for their sponsorship the pool is $650 1st=$350 2nd=$150 3rd=$100 4th=$50 Winnings can either be paid into TAB account or Bank Account. If there is a tie then i will determine the winner by whoever picked the most 1st placings, but hopefully this won't happen. Now i will mention that i will try and post results after every race during the comp, but at times this may not be possible as on the next 2 Saturday's i have Cricket so results won't get done until later that night, and of course if my better half wants to 'drag' me away somewhere and go out during next week, then that may halt the race by race results as well.I know some like to have results race by race, which i will try and do,but as stated it may not always be possible. Meeting Schedule. Saturday 10th Nov-Riccarton Gallops Tuesday 13th Nov-Addington Trots Wednesday 14th Nov-Riccarton Gallops Thursday 15th Nov-Addington Dogs Friday 16th Nov-Addington Trots Saturday 17th Nov-Riccarton Gallops I will put the first selection thread up for Riccarton mid week once the fields are out. This is the first time i've done anything like this so hopefully it goes smoothly but if there are any questions etc then feel free to fire away, but hopefully we all have some fun by taking part in it.7 points -
My Dad has a copy of painting on wall ( told him Dad that's one of 100000 copies look after it ). The Three Kings it's called , Arkle, Desert Orchid and Red Rum. Steve Cauthern had an expensive Swiss clock in his head , brought that US judge of pace to UK, Sheik MO, Cauthern, Sir Henry, Indian Skimmer, Oh So Sharp Old Vic Belmez plus many more . Feeling old now , was a while ago.3 points

I guess that the School in question, now that Jockeys are banned, will fill the Guest Speaker role with the local Parish Priest - but will the kids be safe?2 points
-
Then I presume all Sportsmen will be banned incl, V8 Supercar Drivers (promotes speed and also betting), Netball (u can bet on it) All Blacks and Wallabies ( u can bet on them). In fact, what sport can’t you bet on? PC madness just like the Opera House / Everest bullshit.2 points

Not really sure where to put this,as it's going to cover both codes. But am thinking of running a comp over Cup Week next month.Comp will start on Day 1 at Riccarton, then include Cup Day at Addington(Tuesday) Riccarton on Wednesday...Ashburton trots on Thursday..Addington Trots on Friday and then Cup Day at Riccarton on Saturday.Am thinking it will be a simple pick on horse per race, for a $1ew bet,but in 1 race you chose a Best Bet which will be a $2ew bet.I do have the whole of that week off work,so could possibly update scores etc after each race, unless of course my darling wife wants to drag me out somewhere, and on the first day of the comp i could well have Cricket all day,so no scores would be done until i get home.I am thinking of a cash prize for the first 3 home...but am sorting those details out.Feel free to comment etc.1 point

Didn't settle. The more the pace slowed the more she fought, then got 3 wide. Do they need to take a leaf out of the Might and Power story? Not fight her and let her roll more?1 point

Common sense would suggest that if its taken it this long to get to the track under raceday conditions then its ability is limited. Good luck to them as they will never find an easier field to beat than the one they meet this week.1 point -

Looks like the bad draws EK has had since reaching open class have cost him a chance at the Dominion. He's not drawn better than 7 in FFA for over a year (16 starts). He's gone some slashing races including 2nd in the FFA on Cup day (11), won the Green Mile in track record (10), and did the last mile in the Ordeal Cup in 1.58.6 (28.6) to finish 1/2 length from winner after been drawn 7. But as readers will know, it is very hard to win or even place if always having to settle at rear of large fields.1 point -

For mine, the mare is the best and safest bet in the race. She's been exceptional all season and her last run was her best. No vices. Just a quality mare who looks like she'll be spot on for the day.1 point -

Age is irrelevant in my opinion, it is how they perform that counts. We will just have to wait and see how this one goes.1 point -

Neither were going to figure imho. NDN not up to it and UM been a day to day proposition for some time. So what's left? 4 from AS and Tiger Tara - anything else would have to be an upset.1 point -

Don't think he'll be too concerned. Jonny drove the horse a lot when Grimey trained him. Pretty sure, off the top of my head, that Coxy might have been in the bike when he finished third in the NZ Derby behind Vincent and Ultimate Machete as Dexter drove Rakaupuka Ruler.1 point -

He's probably gone to Sandy Lane in Barbados, looks a nice place to chill out .Owned by Magniers and other Coolmore partners Inc JP McManus. He is a driven man, supervising a huge string of multi million dollar horses travelling the globe. Melb Cup his second tier horses that have in most part been onsold, he has his new intake of yearlings , a backlog of two year olds he couldn't get a run into because of illness in yard to sort and by his standards a disappointing Breeders Cup with big number of runners to sort on arrival home so probably needs a short spell by poolside with a few rums. Prizemoney secondary in their business .Would have been mad busy time, yearling sales around world , horses being sent around World, horses to sell on at end 3 year old season , horses to keep it goes on, those to pass onto his son for over sticks. Shows confidence in his travelling man out here to do the business, no micro managing , that's best boss imho.1 point

I made mention on the radio on Friday that I thought she had come to the end of her prep after watching her win at Caulfield. Remember this is her first prep too. They even put a hood on her to try and settle her in the birdcage yesterday. She is showing she has had enough in my opinion. I have backed the filly every start bar yesterday's run and won't be on in the Oaks either. I will however be cheering her on as I think she is a top class filly. If she were mine I would turn her out and if they wanted to win an Oaks have a go at the AJC Oaks in the Autumn.1 point

One day soon you may wake up to your fake news Below is common knowledge now. I cannot wait for the day when many stubborn/brainwashed normies self red pill by realizing we haven't had a mass public shooting in year(s). It astounds me how many consume "Oh another mass shooting - guns r bad" headline and that's it. link [–] 14761334? [S] 7 points (+7|-0) 4.7 hours ago (edited 4.1 hours ago) I always wanted to do a detailed comparison of an old mass shooting and a modern one. The old ones featured: Dying and wounded people Blood everywhere Dead bodies Long delays (many days) as police and coroners investigated Bullet holes and empty casings Traumatized and scared people who saw some real shit Witnesses who all told the same story Confusion and spontaneity New mass shootings feature: Instant knowledge of all the facts by news media Lack of security camera footage No bodies or blood or injured people Multiple stories from different witnesses Drills or exercises in the same location previously Removing or destroying evidence shortly afterward Obvious motive (eg. gun control laws) Strange connections between the 'victims' or their families Repeated talking points I would say that a real mass shooting event hasn't happened in America since the early to mid 90s. They've all been false flags since Columbine.1 point
