  7. Why do we continuously allow lying politicians to remain in power? Have we really stooped as low as the Americans in finding that it is acceptable for our politicians, who should be looking after our interests, to lie? I'm serious about this. Why then does that twat Sage, Minister of Conservation tell New Zealand that she's called off the tahr cull of 30,000 tahr and then we find out that those inside the helicopter that unfortunately crashed yesterday were doing a full out tahr cull? This follows a tahr cull held secretly two weeks ago, a day after we got told it was halted. Simply lies. Now before you start getting uptight that I bring this up straight after the prang, Nick was a good friend and overall champion bloke....as was Paul. So I lost two mates in one over a lie.

New Zealand politics: A circus for self serving highly paid clowns by GP What we have seen from the Labour Party during their term in opposition and what we are now seeing from the National Party brings into question the state of New Zealand politics. One only has to view Question Time to find the answer. To start with the speaker, an ex-school teacher, runs the house like a class of primary one children giving and deducting numbers of questions. Pathetic. The only justification for this is indeed most of them behave as if they are in primary one. Let’s look at the main Parties: Credit: SonovaMin In respect of the Labour party, most ministers are completely out of their depth and often struggle to answer a question correctly. The achievements of the government to date are in accordance with what is on show in parliament. We have a prime minister who appears to think GDP is a Grand Display of Parenthood. Her understanding of economics is abysmal. Her Finance minister is not much better. Running the country is not like starring in a Hollywood movie. Unfortunately, it is obviously something that is beyond the competence of this lady. In respect of New Zealand First they have a leader who, as Deputy Prime Minister, is intent on being the House’s Court Jester. His attempts at humour are embarrassing in the extreme and it is irritating to watch his group of childish sycophants applaud or laugh at his every attempt at so-called humour. It is high time that the speaker threatened him with expulsion from Question Time. The playing of Burning Bridges to the media pack this week was nothing short of a juvenile attempt to be funny; but if he had a modicum of intelligence he would know that all he achieved was bringing Parliament into disrepute. Photoshopped image credit: Boondecker In respect of the Greens, there is little to be said beyond the fact that, collectively, they are a disgrace to Parliament. They are a far left outfit masquerading as an environmental party. They are a joke. Like the prime minister, they are ideologically driven, intent on taking the country down a very dangerous path. Winston Peters has aligned himself with a left-wing agenda which is being implemented by the Left the world over. It is in accordance with the UN plan which has as its aim a World government. We all know what sort of government that would be. National has now created a mess of its own making. This is inexcusable from a party that until now has prided itself on discipline and unity. It is particularly galling from a party that, one on one, has far more to offer than the current government both in ability and policy. In the light of all the above one can only conclude that politics in this country is in a sorry state. Politicians, by and large, seem to have forgotten that they are there to serve the people who voted them in. Parliament is not a circus for self serving highly paid clowns. It is a place where we entrust those elected to make responsible decisions on our behalf. This, sadly, is not happening in the current parliament.

  10. Mick do us a favor and stay in Australia, Trackside get Mat Cross and Greg on the box seat far more enjoyable if MG cannot work it out, that one of the all time greats Lazarus was bred ,born and owned in NZ won 2 NZ CUPS and a host other Group 1 races, and could quite conceivably go to be one of the all time world greats. Australasian horse what a complete ludicrous, dumb, stupid statement. I would imagine that the past connections of Lazarus would be over the moon with that comment, yeah rite.

    No B Sample

I heard Peter Earley talking to Mike Godber today on the radio and they were discussing a positive to TCO2 down south. The Owner or Trainer had asked for the B Sample to be tested. Godber says that no B Sample is required to be available to the owner or Trainer because the RIU test it twice. This doesn't seem right. Any sport, even Pony Clubs that test for drugs must have a B Sample available to the other party. The rules state "no B Sample, No disqualification". That's why on some high profile cases the B Sample gets lost. In Australia they take 6 vials of blood for the TCO2 tests. 4 for the Integrity people and 2 for a B Sample if required. Surely our testing requirements must be the same as other countries under the International Racing Federation and their rules.

On the basis of gender equity isn't it time we named these women who preyed on vulnerable Jamie-Lee when he was isolated from his family, doing the nation's work in Wellington. Especially the National MP who cannot plead power imbalance for yielding to his carnal drive. A quick scan through the female Nat MP photo gallery reveals only a handful who could generate a "boner" in a young man, so the hunt should not be difficult, unless Jamie-Lee also carries an oedipus complex alongside his obvious narcissism. These predators need to be outed.

  13. ROUND 7 - Saturday October 20th POST ALL SELECTIONS by 6.39pm Saturday. You may post replacements up until this time. It is VERY important that you follow these rules: a) Only post your selections in the race order I have listed. It would be smart (and helpful to me) to leave the comp race number (not the meeting race number) at the beginning of each line. b) Post numbers. Names are optional but if you wish to post names then please post the numbers first and then the name. An example of how an entry should look is this: 1. 3-4-7 2. 1-11-13 3. 5-7-10 Race is: Caulfield R8 - 6.40pm - Stella Artois Caulfield Cup (Gr1) - $5m, 2400m, hdcp Good luck everyone ! Rules: 1. Post 3 selections per race. The return from these selections will be the NZ TAB/Supertab win and place dividends plus any quinellas or trifectas struck by combinations of your 3 selections. 2. Scratchings. You may post replacements for scratchings up until 1 minute before the first comp race of the day. Scratching replacements must be in a new post and not an edit of your original selection post. If you don't replaced a scratched selection then you are down a runner for that race. 3. Late Scratchings. If you have not posted a sub then your selection will go on to the TAB/Supertab sub or if already selected, the 2nd favourite and so on. 4. The winner of the first prize of a trip to Fiji will be the competitor who accumulates the highest overall total. In the event of a tie, number of winners, quinellas and trifectas in that order will be the tie-breaker. Ohokaman (Dave) will score this comp. Any scoring queries to him. I will adjudicate in the event of a dispute.

At only her 4th start she was thrown in the deep end somewhat, coming out of a Rating 65 at Matamata on soft ground to a Group 2 Manifold at Flemington on a good track! She was very unlucky in that! Again she has to step up this weekend at her first look at Caulfield over 2000m at Group 3 level. This can be a trick for young players by not quite having the ring-craft. In saying that....If she's as good as I think she is?....Class will take her to Victory!

Well I for one really liked the piece on The Champ which is really the only reason I watched it but also wanted to get a line who's who for The Cup (we gotta put up some kind of fight for it against those aus raiders), but what I find bemusing is how horse people out there in racing are amazed at Laz and Heaven Rocks actually recognisin each other in stable over there, have been around horses all my life, and yes they form friendships just like we do, can and do recognise ol friends just like we do whats with that? great footnote though......and yes JimmyT our Laz is a 'cool guy' reeeaaal cool guy GOOOOOO!!!! The Mighty AllStars for The Cup!!! Cheers Iraklis

    JIMMY ROCKET

The whole thing is mickey mouse and as Scoobs indicates makes us look like a backwater where anything can go on. I will join the (nearly) 100kg brigade here and declare that while I have ridden a few ponies slowly through English country lanes I have never been anywhere near getting on the back of a racehorse. Fair play to those that do - although I would also observe generally speaking jockeys have limited alternative options outside the occasional hollywood blockbuster which requires diversity of casting. I love a punt and like pretty serious study around form. One factor in NZ I place increasingly less weight on is who is riding the horse. For every ride lauded as brilliant (generally when they have hugged the rail and got a lucky gap), I will show you a few the same jockey has slaughtered. The lack of judicial analysis is baffling and Phantom's post here points that out brilliantly (and very cleverly). Col PS -I can confirm though that the stipes do watch some races each meeting - they did manage to suspend and fine our jockey in the GN Hurdles for trying too hard to win
