What a run by Sea King to get up and win the Australian Grand National Steeplechase today. That took his career number of wins to twenty and stake money past $1 million. Seventeen of those wins have been over the jumps, eleven hurdle wins and six steeplechase wins. My understanding is that it may well be his swansong today and if so what a way to go out. Great jumper!!

Sometimes it all goes wrong and last night at Wanganui it was one of those times. Apparently the injury which brought Paddy's winning streak literally to a halt was to do with a ligament and an operation is almost certainly required. Paddy has been one of our very best greyhounds. Good luck.

What an absolute Champion Winx Is... great for sport and what a great sportsman Waller is... this is a horse I think we will never see the like of again...long may she keep it going its fantastic for racing and fantastic for sport....

No, unfortunately far from successful, lots of kickback and pending where the rail is, a leader bias, which is normally worked out after a couple of races. They are working on it, but it will take awhile to get a reasonable resolution to the problem. Sad really, as it had been a really good winter surface prior to this, still possibly better than 90% of most winter tracks here in NZ, but kickback for horses and riders is really bad if you are back in the field, something that can’t be solved in a short time.

Controversial sand spread last time it was done, first one without Neil Treweeks supervision. New course manager imported from Awapuni.

Wallabies will always struggle to beat NZ in rugby.They just don't have the depth. Rugby struggles to be in the top 20 sports chosen by secondary kids to play .What with the NFL,AFL,NBL,NRL,semi pro baseball,semi pro water polo etc there is a wide and varied choice of sports for kids to play. In the recent Bronco v South games ther were at least 7 players who came up in a rugby enviroment but leave school and think,4 pro rugby teams compared to 16 NRL teams and at least as many AFL teams.Where is the best chance for me to make a career.
