  1. Rules For Some

    Cruelty

Does sound like a good plan. Better yet, The NZGRA should restrict the amount of pups each trainer/breeder can breed in a year to say 30-50 and the amount of dogs each trainer is allowed to race each year to 30-50. That way, it stops mas breading and those trainers who constantly bring dogs in, win 7 or 8 than get rid of them. I They are looking at similar policies in both VIC and NSW right now. I know NSW have already placed a cap on the amount of dogs bred per year which imo is a good thing. Many in Australia are against these policies, however we cannot continue breeding in an unsustainable way. I also believe GOM has pointed this out on several occasions on here that there are only so many homes dogs can go to aswell. Its clear that GAP and co are struggling to rehome the current number of dogs, so the only other way is to restrict the amount of dogs bred and imported.

  3. If you want a good reason why Trump must stay then here's one . The left are determined to sink western society for who knows why ? , some suggest its conscience , a guilt feeling for dominating the world for the last few hundred years , what ever it is , being the dominant culture is better than being dominated , let's keep winning . Now Trump won't play the climate game and for excellent reasons . The rise of China is going to be a problem , China pretends to have concerns about climate change and encourages others to penalise their own economy's while it goes full steam ahead with its own economic base , growing wealth and investing around the world , a sort of Winston bribe fund . ""Beijing is planning to spend at least $35bn building new power stations, which will be mainly coal-fired, using resources from coalfields at Thar, about 400km east of Karachi. The plans will mean building 9.5 gigawatts of new coal-fired capacity "" So we (western culture) are encouraged to abandon fossil fuels and weaken our financial positions , pay carbon tax , NZ is paying a $1BILLION a year into the paris climate fund , a fund that China is a beneficiary of . China is on the same planet as us so they will feel any effects climate change may or may not have , clearly they don't think the threat is real . If every country around the world operated in a similar way on climate issues then fair enough but that's not even close to happening . Thank goodness the western world has Trump , he knows a scam when he sees one and is standing his ground , Trump might save us all .

Premixer once you get hooked on the jumps there's something about it that gets you. I know a lot of punters not into it but each to there own , you learn to live with last fence fallers. It works in your favour sometimes when leader falls , although most long term National Hunt fans never hope for a leader to fall , maybe just a slow jump losing bit of momentum opening the door for your selection to breeze past up run in.. Not sure where you positioned yourself but if you didn't it's well worth sacrificing a bit of view of finish and back straight to get close to hurdle or fence in straight even for one race . The noise up close as they jump gives you the respect for the brave buggers who ride them. If you get to UK at some point , try take in Sandown Park jumps card, standing by hurdle when 20 novices fly over is awesome , the noise of the rap of the hurdle is something..IMHO it's the best jumps track in UK or Ireland, the view is great and uphill finish a game changer. Was a second home for me for nearly 20 years and is a consideration of a venue for a sneaky ashes spread by my family when I hop twig , few years away hopefully tho. I was lucky enough to be at the 1984 Whitbread Gold Cup , if someone can find a better finish to a 5700 metre plus steeplechase or any chase i would love to hear so I could you tube it. Sandown just a short train trip from Waterloo to Esher and your 50 metres from track when you get off train. This GN hurdle going to be tough to pick, iam stumped just looking at noms.

    NZ Cup

Anyone want to go the early crow on this years likely winner. If you follow the money trail Chicago Bull is the big shortener at 7.50. Mind you the brave team of bet takers at NZTAB still have Chase Auckland at 26's when the horse is unlikely to run based on media reports from stable. Tiger Tara looks some sort of chance always as do anything the AS team accept with. Given how boring the current racing is its time look ahead with Hannon on the horizon to kick things off

Congrats to those who wisely did not risk their hard earned by punting on that meeting yesterday. Just plain awful racing IMHO

Plenty of money to be made by those wise punters that did their homework. Evidenced by the fact that punters were close to the mark all day. Majority of the races won by first or second favourites, with only one double figure winner. Obviously only an "awful meeting" for those who were beaten before they started!

  11. Can't see much logic in the above. So you are saying a club should maintain or introduce facilities that are only going to be used a few hours per year and then restrict their use to a few "selected" patrons. Hardly makes economic sense. There are plenty pubs, eating places, meeting places around town that are used every day. Why not book one of them if you want a private exclusive get together. I'm not saying I've got the formula but I would venture to say that nowadays people are more conscious about exercise so rather than bail them up in some "exclusive" room create an environment where there are various stalls, marquees, trade exhibitors etc for racegoers to move about. More emphasis must be given to sponsors, racing syndicate members, and racing staff. Restricting areas to "members only" is a put off and an anachronism.

I remember going there about that same time and being given a ticket to members stand during the day. Problem was no tie, so went to the secretary's office and hired one for about $ 10. They gave me this hideous, lurid, green tie. Embarrassed to me seen in it, but the deal was return it at end of the day and get your money back. When I went back at the end of the day they refused to return the money saying it must have been my own tie as they didn't rent out such crap looking ties ! Took 15 minutes of arguing before they admitted it was indeed one of theirs. Cheating buggers !

  18. Yes P, both McDonald and Schofield got 4 meeting suspensions from the race yesterday. Pierata was good as expected, the trackside people there were saying he looked more forward than Kemantari, but that horse went super over a distance probably too short for him. Will be very hard to beat in anything they put him in. Lanciato was the blackbooker. Some very good performances yesterday. That Godolphin import Avilius was hugely impressive coming from last....32.66 last 600m...

    Jacinda Ardern

Radio Live caller says that she was worried that young people may be indoctrinated if they were allowed to speak. Well lady lets ban Islam Christiananity, unions and generally free speech. Amazing how many want to ban free speech by excersing their own free speech.

    Jacinda Ardern

Of course the media labelling of them as "alt-right" or "far right" is completely false if you follow their message. They are actually very moderate and only enunciate views that were mainstream before the left-wing press decided the identity politics of LGBT, Muslims,Climate change alarmists, Socialists, Feminazis etc should be our Western democracy model.

Prime Minister denies NZ is hostile to free speech by Deb on August 5, 2018 at 10:00am Newshub poll: Should far right speakers Stefan Molyneux and Lauren Southern have been allowed into New Zealand? Our Prime Minister Ms Ardern is back from maternity leave, and has wasted no time at all lying to the media about how we think. This from Skynews: Quote: That is a complete lie and Ms Ardern has absolutely no right to make that statement on behalf of the country. The country is not ‘hostile’ to Ms Southern’s views. A Newshub poll shows 77% of the people surveyed supported Lauren Southern and Stefan Molyneux coming to New Zealand. While it is a small sample size, 77% is an overwhelming majority. New Zealanders wanted to hear what they had to say. New Zealanders wanted to listen to them, have an open debate, and form their own opinions about what was said. Sadly they were shut down by a small minority of vocal nasty bullies that seem incapable of understanding what free speech actually means. Free speech means everyone has the right to say whatever they like, about whatever subject they like, as long as they don’t deliberately incite violence. You don’t have to agree with what is said. You don’t have to like what is said. You don’t even have to listen to what is said. The only thing you must do is allow it to be said. But because a faction of this country had already decided they didn’t agree with the speakers, they denied everyone else’s right to listen. Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern There is nothing at all to be proud of. What has happened is shameful, and I am fearful of where we are headed. Because there is more to this. In the ‘left-wing tabloid’, the NZ Herald, Andrew Little is also telling lies. Quote: If Andrew Little had made any effort at all to exercise his right to listen freely, and had bothered to watch the interview Lauren and Stefan gave after their event was cancelled, he would know that Powerstation did know who was speaking, and there was no attempt to mislead them. It seems our government is determined to lie and mislead New Zealanders to shut down our right to free speech.
