  1. Beaut story Aaron, just a shame it was buried on Maori TV. The thrill of racing eh..A bunch of battlers from an anonymous Welsh Valley bred their own horse and took it to the top. Broke down in a jumps race with serious tendon trouble, they wouldn't put him down, had stem cell treatment and was nursed back to health to come back to win the Welsh Grand National. Not sure I would have tempted fate in the Grand National as they did, where the earlier problem surfaced again and he was retired. Won I think £170,000 in his career so they had a great run. Fantastic.....

Also I think all horses over there have to re-qualify if they haven't raced for a certain period of time.

  4. Taken from a Breitbart contributor post today - this guy really has too much to think!? I was thinking; If Liberals don't believe in biological gender then why did they march for women's rights? I was thinking; If women do the same job for less money, why do companies hire men to do the same job for more money? I was thinking; Since only 11 million people have Obama-Care, how will 24 million people die if it is repealed? Will an additional 13 million people be randomly shot? I was thinking; We should stop calling them all 'Entitlements'. Welfare, Food Stamps, WIC, ad nausea are not Entitlements. They are taxpayer-funded handouts and shouldn't be called Entitlements at all. But, Social Security and Veterans Benefits are Entitlements because the people receiving them are entitled to them. They were earned and paid for by the recipients. I was thinking; If you rob a bank in a Sanctuary City, is it illegal or is it just an Undocumented Withdrawal? I was thinking; After the London 'Lone Wolf' terrorist attack, government officials arrested at least eight other 'Lone Wolves' who had conspired with the original 'Lone Wolf' in planning the 'Lone Wolf' attack. Why do they tell us even though all involved are Muslims, you can be assured that the 'Lone Wolf' attack has nothing at all to do with Islam, just like the other 1,000-plus 'Lone Wolf' attacks by Muslims, are completely unassociated with Islam? I was thinking; Why is each ISIS attack now a reaction to Trump policies, but all ISIS attacks during Obama's term were due to Climate Change and a plea for jobs? I was thinking; If Muslims want to run away from a Muslim country, does that mean they are Islamophobic? I was thinking; If Democrats don't want foreigners involved in our elections, why do they think it's all right for illegals to vote? I was thinking; Is the DNC is mad at Russia because it 'thinks' they are trying to manipulate our elections, or because Russia is exposing that the DNC is manipulating our elections? I was thinking; How did the Russians get Debbie Wasserman Schultz and the DNC to steal the Primary from Bernie Sanders? How did Russia get Donna Brazile to leak debate questions to Hillary Clinton in advance of the debates? I was thinking; Why is it that Democrats think Super delegates are fine, but they have a problem with the Electoral College? I was thinking; If Donald Trump deleted all of his emails, wiped his server with Bleachbit and destroyed all of his phones with a hammer, would the Mainstream Media suddenly lose all interest in the story and declare him innocent? I was thinking; If Hillary's speeches cost $250,000 an hour, how come no one shows up to her free speeches? I was thinking; If you don't want the FBI involved in elections, don't nominate someone who's being investigated by the FBI.

    Bad boy Bronson

Definitely not a good look. Appears Mr Munro has anger-management issues with a past racist rant and now a misogynist rant. Frankly, I have doubts about him working with animals if he has little self-control and temper issues. What could happen if a horse upsets him? I believe he is likely to lash out and ill-treat the animal. The industry does not need hot-headed individuals like this. A lengthy ban is in order with a compulsory anger management course included.

  6. This is just about the worst case scenario for racing. Just for a start, importantly, the punters won’t bet...par for the course, Waller lines up way too many favourites which don’t salute...often with the maligned stable mate taking the prize...and if punters won’t bet, then no money goes through the system which stumps up racing...self defeating system... Is it any wonder they can’t get decent sized fields in Sydney and provincials...when domination has just gone beyond the ridiculous

  9. $12 Billion , not a problem , the farmers are baring the brunt of the great tactics so it's only fair the rest of society pays their share , it's the whole of the US society that will gain from this . The EU have arrived with cap in hand closely followed by the new lefty leader of Mexico and Trudeau is also grovelling at the door . Trump continues to win , I don't know what's in all of this for us but the Labour govt has just spent a couple of Billion in the US on some planes trying to gain browne points , I suspect their grass roots supporters wont be overly pleased about that .

    Lazarus

Yeh they are very happy with The Champ and see he is more forward than they thought, so they are possibly lookin at makin late payment for the Dan Patch at Hoosier...... Mick G from the Herald: Lazarus's debut in North America looks set to be fast-tracked after the Kiwi champion dazzled in his first public outing there. The two-time New Zealand Cup winner paced a 1:48.6 mile in a qualifier (trial) at The Meadowlands in New Jersey on Saturday morning (US time), beating outstanding three-year-old Lather On, winner of the North America Cup. Purchased out of New Zealand for around $4 million just a few months ago Lazarus is now trained by Hall of Famer Jimmy Takter with the aim of winning a major North American race and pacing a sub 1:47 mile to make him a dual hemisphere stallion prospect. Saturday's performance was a hugely positive step in that direction. It proved Lazarus is fit and healthy and handling his new training regime as Takter tries to sharpen him up for the almost exclusively diet mile racing in North America. And importantly Lazarus showed gate speed in the trial, leading from the ace early before trailing and then powering past Lather On at the 400m mark and holding him easily at the line. "I couldn't be any happier with him," driver Yannick Gingras told local media. "He's very easy on himself and had tons of pace." Lazarus's gate speed, or perceived lack of it, was one of the concerns for the $3.6m earner when he headed to the States as it will be incredibly hard to win a top level free-for-all in North America coming from back in the field. But the way he left the mobile, cruised past a serious horse and paced one of the fastest qualifying times in history suggests he is already set to pace 1:48 when needed, probably faster. When Lazarus left New Zealand the original targets were races at the Red Mile early in October, where the track is conducive to a very fast time, and the Breeders Crown at Pocono on October 27. But he looks way more advanced than anybody expected and Takter has indicated a late entry fee could be paid for Lazarus to contest the US$300,000 Dan Patch at Hoosier Park in Indiana on August 10. Cheers Iraklis

    Open Class Races

They will programme some, and these will race with 3 or 4 acceptors. The TAB will come up with some "kooky" betting options and then they will all wonder why their turnover is plummeting. Unfortunately these days only options appear to be : 1) If in NI - send them from mid August to the SI 2) If in the SI - send them to Mark/Nat - this includes NI's that have just gone down there 3) Sit back and wait for Mark/Nat to sort them all out programmes in Aussie then watch them get exported. 4) If the above remedy not to your liking then just help an agent get fat and sell them off the sooner the better. In other words open class racing in NZ is next to extinct!

FISA court documents about to be declassified…this is the beginning of the end. I believe FISA and IG Report declassification will lead to the servers. Servers are key. They hold all evidence needed. FISA declassed.FISA court judges exposed/disgraced.Obama dragged in as bad actor.Hillary/DNC also, as they funded dirty dossier.UK gov't (Theresa May for one), US gov't, secret services home/abroad implicated.MSM bad actors exposed.Investigation implicates EVERYONE involved in U1, Iran, Human Trafficking, Haiti, Corruption.Hillary Clinton, Obama, EU, British gov't, ALL OF 'EM. Multi's

This is usual. I could not take SBW to score 3 tries and all blacks to win match in a multi because of SBW scores three tries then the odds on all blacks winning is reduced. The Melbourne and Caulfield cup doubles are not the same odds as each horse individually for that race this is because if you win the Caulfield cup your odds of winning the Melbourne cup are reduced.

Opinion - yes everybody has one - but when people make a statement of their opinion that is so obviously wrong (e.g. when Matt Anderson makes a statement about his highlight was working at Allstars) they lose all credibility and in my opinion have nothing to offer that is factual. Lie to someone once and they will always doubt you, lie to someone many times (Brodie and Hunter) and no one listens to your opinion

    WHO IS THE SHARK ?

The Shark is a fictitious character created by NZRB's marketing guy Nick Tedeschi. They changed the TAB Trackside social media to 'The Shark' and they just funnel all their tips and picks from various people through that. Don't get sucked in.

I have known HunterP for 30 years and although I strongly disagree with some of his statements, especially the unfounded ones surrounding the Allstars, and some of his comments towards some others he is actually a nice guy. That is why I am surprised at some of his personal attacks.Personally I am one of the Allstars biggest fans but everybody is entitled to their opinions whether we think they right or wrong.

  23. It is probably Matt Markham.............. simply because his 4 selections in each race at Oamaru are the same as the shark's. Well on past performances good luck following this crap , he regularly goes into Friday night with 1 or 2 winners. Having said this there are a couple of obvious ones there today so a basic pass today would be 3 winners. On the whole the entire lineup at trackside need to take a good look at their records as every one other than the Whale would qualify for a rates rebate.

dont sweat it 100 1 your well up with the play on whats going behind the scenes!! people who scratch the surface never find deep hidden truths.... its only ever the ones who put the effort in to dig deeper who learn the deeper truths of what occurs around them that is why Gold is buried deep in the earth... little fragments of gold dust eventually find their way above ground... but majority of the wealth is always deep down but as we know... dirt and all the dross is normally above the surface. people who enjoy looking at the superficial things, and see immense value in them... have their values aligned with the lost world that has gone wayward.. this is the real tragedy!!

I agree. Was there a month or two before the election and if you talked to the bus drivers, bar persons, immigrants etc. it was very apparent what was about to happen. None of them were particularly keen on Trump but the alternative and more of the Washington establishment was simply not a goer. I'd say he's odds on to win another term.

    Charlie Studd

He was clearly going to get a holiday (picked up that he hadn't ridden his mount out and sat up well short of the line) when watching the race. I think the head on film clearly shows this the best. Made a mistake by not looking to the outer unfortunately and has to cop the penalty. He is entitled to defend the charge and chose to do so, no concern with that aspect, but it would have been like farting against thunder as a picture/s are worth a thousand words.
