  1. You may well see no issue but electoral rules are rules.

  2. A thorough gentleman. Didn't matter whether he was mixing with the "top end of town" or the "lifes battlers", he treated everyone in the same manner. Nice to have crossed paths with you Neil. RIP

  3. 44 meetings left in the season, 31 of which he always drives at. Throw in the odd trip north for an "end of season dash" and he's realistically only got to win one race per meeting to break the record - and he's been doing better than that all season! I think there's a better than even money chance that we'll have a new record holder by seasons end.

no change from $120 Puha......most of the 'top' charge about 130-150. However, and it's a huge however, running costs can be much cheaper than NZ.......raceday is a no brainer, if your horse is up to city class, the starters incentive can be 2K paid back to 10th...plus an incentive fee of 200 bucks, so, you will end up in front even if down the track......in NZ we were slugged close to 700 bucks just to trial ,[Otaki to Waverley] after the floating and ancillary costs.....our friends here kacked themselves laughing when we showed them.......that sort of thing will eventually kill of the owner over there.....instead of incentivising they are being spurned.......anyway I'm wasting electricity as it falls on deaf ears....John Messara will address it no doubt, as should the absolutely useless trainers association who have been silent for so long and now are squealing like a trapped mouse....

  5. No, for the reason there would be plenty who have made a nice profit from the outcome. Your problem Ivan is you had far too many combinations for the small investment made giving you a very small %. Its such a poor return when you take tiny % that its not worth the effort. If it pays $1000 you collect $50 for all the hassle you went too looking through 4 races & then its highly unlikely that you are still alive after the 4 races. When all as you needed to do was find 1 $7 winner for the same outcome. You would be far far better taking 3 $5 Horses in a $10 % any 2 Multi, if all 3 win you get $500 if 2 win you get $62.50. A lot more likely than you striking a $1000 quaddie to win $50.

I think that given the prize money on offer, racing in Aust is far more attractive. Any diff in training fees would be negated by the “significant” diff in prize money.

  7. FTMuch, oh true well that'd be good for The Laz, I seem to recall on one the harness sites reporting on Lazzie's sale etc mentioned Takter, hell coulda been MickG in his article even, I know recently there were some of Takter's horses in the results, I came across when searching for The Rocks etc from what I saw there seemed to be quite a few.....dare say someone will jump in with added info, I have to admit I don't know much bout Takter as trainer etc so spose I should jump online and do a bit of a recky Cheers Iraklis

  8. Takter is very good trainer who has a lot of top liners in his stable. He would have to be given serious consideration Iraklis

  9. Of course it's relevant. You only get 5% of the declared divi. You are just lucky you had the field in the second leg, if you only had one runner you would have ended up with 35c. You are probably lucky it was abandoned really. If you only had one runner in the last two legs your chances of getting anything were virtually nil. Almost getting your money back wasn't a bad result.

    TAB......... Please explain

Ivan whenever you take the field in a quaddie leg with 11 horses, if the winner pays $11 you are on your way to break even, if the winner pays less than $11 you are on your way to a loss. With the last three legs abandoned the Quaddie became a simple win bet. You had pretty much 60c to win on each of 11 horses. 10 of them LOST, the other won and paid 7.

I would seriously doubt that before the other night she could have been worth over 100k as a broodmare. If for any reason she wasn’t a megastar at 4 (much more likely she will be now) you could argue most of her big money opportunities were over. Not many 4yo mares worth big money. Petsonally I think she has run into a poor kiwi 3yo fillies crop and shown them up for what they are. Sure 220 seems cheap now but I don’t think it was totally ridiculous.

  14. Barry’s formula makes perfect sense to me. My thinking would be the total spend is irrelevant as that includes 14 losing combinations.

    The Budget

Be prepared to be let down by Messara report especially its take up by NZ Government. It buys Winston time and will struggle to get support from Greens/Labour and hence give NZ First an opt out excuse. Sadly i'm thinking the report may well have some good ideas but as for their introduction , little or no chance

    Great Western Hurdles

Nine horses - seven jockeys, sad that there is a lack of SI jumps jockeys. Looks like two will be scratched with no riders available. Can understand why a NI based rider wouldn’t want to travel for one ride, but its a shame for the connections to have to scratch ther horses due to having no riders.

  17. Good race this - decent hurdles field. I have a tiny interest in Jack Frost so fingers crossed the day continues to be a beauty after Chelsea won the FA Cup this morning. I better grab an hour or two sleep now
