  1. You can't think of a $7 percentage quaddie as a $7 bet, because it's not one bet. It's 120 individual bets, some with a stake of $0.05 and some with a stake of $0.06. So, "I had a $7 bet and had the winner in the first leg, some other people didn't have the winner, therefore I should get my $7 back plus a share of the money from the people who didn't have the winner" is faulty thinking. While you had the first leg winner on some of your tickets, you also had first leg losers on most of your tickets. In reality, you had 12 winning $0.05 bets, each of which paid out $0.35. You also had 108 losing $0.05 & $0.06 bets, which paid out nothing.

no change from $120 Puha......most of the 'top' charge about 130-150. However, and it's a huge however, running costs can be much cheaper than NZ.......raceday is a no brainer, if your horse is up to city class, the starters incentive can be 2K paid back to 10th...plus an incentive fee of 200 bucks, so, you will end up in front even if down the track......in NZ we were slugged close to 700 bucks just to trial ,[Otaki to Waverley] after the floating and ancillary costs.....our friends here kacked themselves laughing when we showed them.......that sort of thing will eventually kill of the owner over there.....instead of incentivising they are being spurned.......anyway I'm wasting electricity as it falls on deaf ears....John Messara will address it no doubt, as should the absolutely useless trainers association who have been silent for so long and now are squealing like a trapped mouse....

Wouldn’t think so main problem is you have to have major shares in Most you race these days as only the foolhardy and passionate are left standing.

  6. Interesting you say that, as reading some of his previous posts, I would have sworn he was connected to the TAB or NZTR somehow. Just had another look through and you are right, almost all of his posts have similar themes in shitting on people, just a rude f--king prick.

  7. You took 11 horses in the first leg and the winner paid $7 odd and you're wondering why you lost money?

  9. Kudos to the three gate attendants who rescued Tayla Wenn out of harms way before the start of Race 7. Brave quick thinking guys certainly prevented further injuries to young Tayla! Great job they did and do every meeting! Hopefully Tayla is O.K Baz!

Why go to Waller/Waterhouse and co and pay much more? There are a lot of really good trainers that are reasonable. Toby Edmonds (Gold Coast), Matt Dunn (Murwillumbah), Bussuttin (Cranbourne), Patrick Payne (Ballarat) to name a few. But if you have a good one, I’d ask D Weir if he would take it. None better.

  13. Isn’t it all irrelevant, the pool is shared to all live units after first and only resulted leg, if you have multiple 5% units it’s not hard to work out the result nO ? I don’t blame you Ivan the Tab here are so useless you feel you can’t trust them

How does the racing club changing its name present a “loophole” allowing the council to revisit the old agreement?

    TAB......... Please explain

No, for the reason there would be plenty who have made a nice profit from the outcome. Your problem Ivan is you had far too many combinations for the small investment made giving you a very small %. Its such a poor return when you take tiny % that its not worth the effort. If it pays $1000 you collect $50 for all the hassle you went too looking through 4 races & then its highly unlikely that you are still alive after the 4 races. When all as you needed to do was find 1 $7 winner for the same outcome. You would be far far better taking 3 $5 Horses in a $10 % any 2 Multi, if all 3 win you get $500 if 2 win you get $62.50. A lot more likely than you striking a $1000 quaddie to win $50.

    Free Speed maps

Thanks. David does most of the work behind the site. It is days like today at Manukau where the first 7 of 8 races were won by dogs mapped to lead that David and I get a real kick out of it. We know many punters use them, and combined with those who have a bit more knowledge, along with the Ratings and replays etc, you can have a lot of fun and hopefully make a enough to pay for the Sunday night out at the movies! And I can thoroughly recommend the Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society movie ( the brief title is explained in the opening scene!

    Great Western Hurdles

Penalty was correct mate - doubt many are disputing that. . Didnt involve handball. We had a second claim for a penalty which involved a handball and wasnt given. Reality is they couldnt score - we did. Carefree...... (thats a Chelsea song reference)

  24. Good race this - decent hurdles field. I have a tiny interest in Jack Frost so fingers crossed the day continues to be a beauty after Chelsea won the FA Cup this morning. I better grab an hour or two sleep now

    alta orlando

For a horse to win from 30 mtres behind some good horses last night at Addington in a time of 3.56.1 is something rather special. but as usual thetipping experts were hung up on 2 other runners and gave little or no credence to Alta orlandos chances. This was pleasing to say the least as a worthwhile bet at 7.90 was very nice. Alta Orlando was pos the best 3 year old of his year before going amiss and being sacked by the Purdon team who tried valiantly to get him backto his best. The intelligence and perseverence of the Dunn team has meant now some years later from the great 3 year old days he is looking to fulfill his early promise. One day the "experts"may have to concede they got it wrong and this horse is a true contender in big Cup races in the coming season.

    The Budget

Guys it is not a case of us and them. The review covers "racing". I accept the Budget said gallops. Blue "racing" has already lived on hope for years not just harness. Now we are seeing ACTION and still whinge about past grievances, Ministers etc. Move on. Await the outcome of the review and reserve any criticism or negativity (if justified) until it is released.

    Te Rapa Gate Attendants!

Her horse reared and she hit her head on the overhead gate and was knocked out and ended up underneath the horse. Good to see her conscious and talking as they loaded her into the second ambulance to take her to hospital. Hopefully she will be up and about soon and a quick recovery made. All the best Tayla.

    The Budget

Winston has implemented a long overdue review of our Industry which potentially could make millions available to us for distribution without having to get petty cash allocations from the budget. Surely we should wait for the future outcomes before bleating and being critical of Winston.

    RIVERTON

Great to see the jumpers resuming at Riverton today. Pity the TAB sheets did not show the jumps form for every runner. Each runner was listed as J-0-0. What total nonsense. Their form writers should get their act together.

  33. assumedly you would get the full amount back... if there were scratchings that were in your selections after the bet was taken... would that not refund some of your investment? unsure
