I can understand people being annoyed with what happened on Saturday but to bring into this thread something that happened back in 2009 you really are a muck-raker and I fail to see the point you are trying to make. Get a life.

there is only one winner true but that winner needs to get a decent whack considering they get handicapped close to Auckland for it-if they got3 or so points it is worthwhile- but hawera gets the double whammy - low stakes and hit too hard in the handicaps. if u run fifth at hawera btn 10 lengths u got no point reduction and if u run 2nd at Auckland in a 20k race u get no points. it it really the same. anyway I still take my hat off to the people down there- they try there arse off- no directors fees down there

    Jacinda Ardern

Heather gives Jacinda another flogging The pile on against Jacinda Ardern continues as media commentators realise that she is all mouth and no trousers. Heather du Plessis-Allan gets in on the action at the Herald on Sunday: End of quote. Having heated conversations with journalists who write bad things about you is how Jacinda is “handling” this. I expect Heather will have received a phone call yesterday morning. Helen Clark might have put feet into journalists, but Jacinda Ardern doesn’t. Heather continues: End of quote. What a catastrophe of a government; lurching from one crisis to the next and all self-inflicted. Princess Fairy-dust is hopeless when it comes to making hard decisions. She’s more used to mouthing slogans and doing photoshoots with friendly media. None of this nastiness for her. Heather continues:

More stories than in a Hans Christian Anthology have originated here over the Easter Meeting. But it's the same old story, regardless of the stakes on offer, only one winner per race! The dates allocation committee are the ones at fault as much as anyone else. An all weather surface meeting in the area (one day Manawatu) two days prior is just plain dumb. Wouldn't it make sense schedule either Wanganui or Stratford the Wednesday or Thursday prior to or immediately after Easter? Sorry, we are not allowed to be logical!

oh dear me alright - loving your command of the English language You're mixing up a few issues here. I feel for Opie and his struggle with weight, and I rate him as a top jockey. But that's not the point of this discussion. Those who bet on him did so with their eyes open - everyone knows about his weight issues. The TAB has no obligation to refund those bets. Should they refund bets where dogs turn in the boxes? where trotters break up and take no part in the race? where a horse loses its jockey coming out of the barriers? and as for the fine and the suspension - as much as I like him as a jockey he shouldn't accept rides where he can't make the weight - that's not fair on punters.

  12. All Cafers following this thread will be devastated to know I didn't get the $12k Danielle quaddie yesterday. But save your sympathy, no cards please... I have her to win the Jockeys premiership at 101-1 and after Saturday's effort she is only 25 behind (should be in front by lunchtime on 31 July!) Seriously though... my research shows the following for Sam Collett in March ...she'll be glad it's April From 113 rides in March ... · 12 wins, 7 x 2nd, 10 x 3rd (SR about 9.5) …last five completed race days with no winners · Longest losing sequence: 27 rides without a win (and counting) · 9 wins from her first 54 rides in March (SR about 6.0); 3 wins from her last 59 rides (SR: about 20)

Brodie, which owners does it affect? the 94 that started their horses yesterday yes I repeat Ninety-Four out of 107 Starters and I state again there are 370 odd registered trainers have they been told they cant win a race the All-Stars are entered in. Someone should have told Greg Hope not to start his horse in a $100000 race because the All-Stars had a red-hot favorite in it.Tell Blair and Dexter to give the game away because they can't win if the All-Stars are racing against their horses. It affects all the owners who are paying thousands of dollars a month in training fees in the knowledge that they can not win enough money to cover their costs. So where did these owners go? or are they that dumb they keep going knowing they cant and don't win?

    OP

It's well documented that the risk of fatality is high when excessive effort is made to reduce weight quickly. Therefore by putting up fines and suspensions for failing to make the weight the industry is risking million dollar law suits. But it worries about owners watching their horse getting saddled up on questionable safety grounds.

If a jockey is injured after first race, bets still stand. If horses scratched, bet stands. This is jockeys fault, so bets should stand. Part of betting on these types of options

  28. Not on the money this time Brodie. The first half of the card was the weakest by far. Too early for Aussies to be betting also. Rather condescending Brodie. and a bit smartarse ish Didnt think you were like that. I thought you didnt bet on the tote and neither did your "mates" therefore your comments are irrelevent on this matter as the turnover figures were tote only.

How many times has Bosson had problems with his weight recently? If you're punting something you should be aware of intricacies of that bet surely? The likelihood he won't see the day out, the likelihood he won't make the weight on certain horses and so on.

    OP

Memo Opie knockers When you bet on an option like the Jockeys Challege you should factor in the possibility that some jockeys may not be able to ride at the carded weight and either ride overweight or are stood down. No use grizzling-it is a case of punter beware.

    TAB

How is it a ripoff by the TAB?, they obviously put the odds up in good faith that the rider has accepted rides that he can make the weight at. I don't see it as any different than backing a horse that doesn't go on wet ground , its up to the punter to do the research on these bets , Bosson has a history of weight difficulties surely that is priced into the odds on offer by the TAB yesterday.

Yes I have seen that. It's interesting as AIM has provided much great info over time but when analyzing Q ,Thomas seemed very weak when decoding the Q posts. As though he hasn't been following at all and says there have been 3 Qs ( although I believe its a team) I get the vagueness and cryptic nature of Q but it has been a great way to inform and get people to understand the enormity of the corruption and size of the operation. We are living in a historic time....soon to be revealed. Corsi has contacts within the White House and believes he knows who he/they are. Trump and Mattis frequently acknowledge Qs existence so until things don't pan out I'm on board. Whatever the outcome the Alt Media has generally proven correct and12 months ahead of MSM.! IG report should start to wake the masses.....interesting how most of the conspiracy theories will turn out to be true.

    Lets Hope They Unite.

The Board appoints the CEO hence that’s who appointed John Allen, with probable persuasion from the National Minister at the time, Nathan Guy. The same Minister appointed the Chair, Glenda Hughes, who is a high up National person. The three independent members also get appointed by the Minister!!! (That’s the Racing Act that Gary Chittick presided over, and that at the time, I told him was flawed. He told me that I didn’t know what I was talking about! Who is right now Gary? - Sorry to digress guys.) The three codes get to put forward ONE Board Member each. So as you see the Codes have very little say, especially when trying to push their own interests, and are effectively kneecapped by Clause 16 anyway.

  44. Let's see where he turns up, he would not be the worst option for NZ breeders, especially if priced well, I'm thinking that at $3k service fee, he would be a lot of stallion with a track record and a lot of upside.

  46. Been fascinated to read all the comments on social media about why he won't come out of the gates. We spent a lot of last winter puzzling a similar thing with one of our horses. She loves working. Loves Racing & is 100% fit, healthy, happy & in no pain. But took to getting slower & slower away. We tried a few gear changes & they didn't work. Everyone else seemed to get super stressed at the gates wanting her to jump & she got 1000% worse! Once we pusuaded everyone to just back off & leave her be, she decided to jump out again. Though it's still on her terms & I'd never bet on what she's going to do. She's very strong minded & likes very set routine. If anything isn't to her liking then she's not happy. Sometimes you just have to accept that you can't control everything. Chautauqua looks like the kind of horse that knows his own mind & will definitely have the final word on the subject.

Not at this stage. Just no time to do them and can't go on paying others to do them as well. The racing bodies aren't prepared to pay for the information that punters, especially in Australia, demand to have to get seriously involved. It is a shame as of all the codes, greyhound sectionals are the most useful to know.
