OMG !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm up against TC this coming week. Are you sure you got the draw right, PJ ? No loss of face for you if you got it wrong, PJ, we accept these things can happen, even to the best. Just run a simple redraw and all will be fixed, I'm thinking. I'll let my team know.5 points -
Would like to thank the team at Manukau for a great afternoons entertainment. The racing was good and generally clean. Lost quite a few dollars but did win a meat raffle so daughter was happy with that when we got home. I would thoroughly reccomend the experience to anyone, good facilities and close to the action3 points

Terminating Pick 6s sizzle
Black Kirrama and one other reacted to NeilD for a topic
Why have a boring $40k guaranteed Pick6 at Awapuni and a $25k bonus quaddie? Why not just a $50k terminating Pick6? And what if Guaranteed Pick6 is struck by a full unit and only $20k bet? As a caller on Des Coppin's show said last Sunday, the TAB has to front up with extra $20k! C'mon TAB, give it a go just for a month and get some sizzle back into punting.2 points -

Wow ...only 4 points covering the top 5 teams ! Incredibly close. What a top match the 'Ad Augusta's Joker play match against 'The Dark Horses' will be. Back-to-back losses for The Dark Horses' must be lowering their morale surely, but they're clinging grimly to the lead. 'The Dark Horses' with the top 2 scorers in the Comp today ...yet they lost ! Great performance from TC who has now gone 10 from 10 for 'Mainly Dollarz'. What an asset to his team, and no wonder was the Top Seed in this Comp. Relative newcomers may not be aware that TC started his career in the 'Mighty Blues' and he was very successful there too. Should future team numbers increase to 6 we'd be happy to have him back ! Lots of people got amongst the dollars today, so overall most people I imagine would be reasonably happy with their day's efforts. And thanks for your top efforts scoring and updating for us today, PJ. Enjoy the rest of your Easter, folks. Well done Tom, Wrinkles, Cat and Casper. We're getting there !2 points -

Cheers Scooby, got a couple of things a bit unclear but mostly I think contributors enjoyed it. Will see how the fields look for TA and Riccarton as it was good to be able to include a Riverton race this week, hell I may even amend my rules to 3 NZ races and 1 OZ race for the next round.2 points -

So nothing was said that might have messed with the defence of the cobalt in the troughs? And the valuable, highly strung derby thorougjbreds hanging out amongst his dairy cows, contained by most unsuitable single electic wire fences, rolling in cow pats, risking colic as they gorged on lush annual rye grass pasture, braving whatever the elements threw at them despite being accustomed to the luxury of a cosy stable, and having their elegant silken tails chewed by curious bovines as they napped on sunny afternoons .... THAT farm manager Robert? ....2 points

I think nobody believes Brosnan or Dalgety purposely doped their horses either. What most can't believe is the differences in penalties given1 point

The only thing you are on the money about - is repeating this story - we have heard it again and again from you - most on here understood your opinion about this the first time you posted it. Don't know who you associate with but if you have to repeat the same things again and again to get them to understand I suggest you look for more intelligent friends. How can you quote "most punters are over betting blah blah blah" - another of your "make it up as you go along" stories. Do you not have any "big boy pants"1 point -

Memo Opie knockers When you bet on an option like the Jockeys Challege you should factor in the possibility that some jockeys may not be able to ride at the carded weight and either ride overweight or are stood down. No use grizzling-it is a case of punter beware.1 point -

You would have thought that the TAB should have refunded those punters who took Opie on their special option offered this morning at $2.20 to win the jockey's challenge today. Punters would have taken the bet based on what his list of rides were. That factor was considerably changed after not being able to make the weight on three key runners thereby making a mockery of the original bet. The TAB should use their discretion and as a mark of goodwill to those punters refund those bets under the option the TAB used. I believe under similar circumstances a punter a while ago who outlayed $10,000 in a similar bet on Opie was refunded. So why not here????1 point

Why is Easter Cup meeting now during the day?
We're Doomed reacted to harewood for a topic
Disappointingly weak fields for what used to be one of the premier days of the year. Where have all the horse gone. AUSSIE! Apart from the All Stars many of the very promising juveniles and 3 yr olds are sold over the ditch. WA in particular are prepared to pay big money 150 K for them so why wouldn't you sell. Not many make any where near that in NZ never mind the training vet etc bills. How do we keep them in NZ, change the handicapping? (look at Aus where many have won well upwards of 30 races and are still in a competitive grade), increase the stakes (that wont happen in a hurry with decreasing turnover) Any ideas.? As I had a bit of time WD I quickly checked the turnover of Addington and Riverton You are quite correct. Just checked the win and place so roughly Addington turned over 205 K in 11 races and Riverton 335 in 9 races. The average per race was Addington Win 18.7K Place 12K Riverton Win 37K Place 23K Wow thats a huge discrepancy for a supposedly premier day of harness racing .Doesn't look good for future stake gains.1 point -

Not bad season stats are they, just lacking those high profile horses this season (Gift Of Power winning age group races without the big ones this year) Can leave a handy horse and has done off modest service fees and smallish books, his crop of current weanlings are from his biggest book by far , so a bit to come you would suggest.1 point
