Peter, It is with regret that you need to an extra $103 onto Wrinkles total. tony

Hi Peter, I think Wrinkles was on Redkirk Warrior as well. Makes it pretty tough for LDM to win. Looks like we need Frolic to win for Steve P.

And plenty of the jockeys need to be dragged before the stipes and reminded they are in a horse RACE, not a PARADE.

At least the after burner kicked in John, came home with a wet sail. Good scoring all round by the team , some of those totals would have normally won the day. Our secret weapon Steve P saving it up for our Joker Play. Can't wait, and I bet Steve can't wait either. Hopefully we are still with in striking distance, and the Joker will have us baying at the leaders heels. Good days

I had Embellish in my F4 - looking for a good run. Still got F4 but really BB, it's not about AFC, it's about the performance. It's only going to get harder for Embellish from here. Hopefully, he will do ok but - it's a big ask. If they want to give him the best chance to win a G1 in Oz then maybe a switch of Stables to Weir, Hayes or Waller would enhance his prospects. He really has to win in Oz to make it. A 2000g win on it's own may not be enough. Don't let your parochialism get in the way of reality Baz

You're absolutely right Rees ...after 4 rounds everyone is in with a shot. Testimony I believe to the success of the draft system that is working wonderfully well. Enables everyone to be well-invested in the comp week by week.

Only 3 points off 3rd. Nothing in this game boys. Watch the changes after the winning Joker plays kick in in the next few weeks. Miseres on the up.

Thanks John and team Lay Down Mizere. You guys are a top team and there'll be a lot of wins ahead for you in the coming weeks. This was a close match today that see-sawed back and forth. Fortunately for us Double AAs lady luck went our way the final two or three Aussie races, and we managed to come away with a much-needed win. Good team effort today Double AAs with special mention of Tom and Wrinkles with top wins in their individual matchups. Great stuff, fellas. I think we're starting to hit our straps now, and we can look forward to making our way steadily up the leaderboard in coming weeks. The team we had earmarked from Week 1 as our Joker play has done particularly well the past fortnight ...so it could be that a rethink is in order. Yes na...we'll go with the original plan. Watch this space....no, not the one between my ears. Thanks for the scoring and updates today, PJ. Much appreciated .....even more so when we win.

Thank you John & Tony for alerting PJ to Wrinkles' success with Redkirk Warrior. You are a very sporting team Lay Down Mizere. Top stuff. Going to the wire here. I'm off to put a few dollars on Frolic, enough to weigh it down in its endeavours.

To win: The Lay Down Miseres need: Frolic to win for Steve P (BB) OR Alizee to win for Tony The Betza Grands need: Sasso Corbaro to win for Betty (must pay $4.30 or Melody Belle complete the quinella) OR Sumookh to win for Robert The Five No Triumps need: Frolic to win for Ray (must pay $14.70 or Melody Belle complete the quinella) The Rubiks can't win

Spare a thought for the owners of Zacada. His jockey said, and I kid you not, "they went too slow so I only came eighth." That is the sort of logic that would make her a brilliant cost accountant for Fletcher Building.

Thank you La Zip for your balanced observation. I think Scoobydoo is the Parochial one. Why is is it that some do the Louis Armstrong when a NZ horse wins in Oz but when a heralded horse fails the big defence goes up? Embellish got bloused in the KM and got run over today after a soft run in transit. On his run, he can't win a Group race in Oz. Compare his run with that of Cliffs Edge from a wide alley. Embellish from his inside gate was ridden a treat by OP - who didn't spend a cent in the run. He can't beat Grunt on that performance and if a kiwi bred wins the AG, it's more likely to be Grunt.

I think you summary is spot on. This horse needs to enhance his record to ensure he is well patronised at Stud. As many of the resident mares at Cambridge Stud are by Zabeel, he will need plenty of outside mares to ensure he gets numbers on the ground. And with a lovely array of young stallions on offer in NZ, unless he has the top notch racing record to back his fee, then it will be a long hard road to the top. Therefore a stint with David Hayes beckons.....or another proven stallion-making trainer....

Thanks i used to ride him work when Noel trained him..i lelt to go overseas before he raced..often wonder how he turned out..In fact he was a handful and was gelded. .Stref Christmas i think broke him in..No won in the stable wanted to ride him (Jake) so Noel asked me one morning if i would like to "have a go"...me a seaman taking time off only being riding track work for a few months and i was about to be untrusted with this half brothr to Golden Defoe. .any how we clicked and he became my best friend. .it was a difficult day that i walked out on him..I do no that Wayne who worked for Noel was chosen to ride him next morning and he didn't like him one bit and dropped him..so i gathered he must have missed me like i did him.. Thanks so much for the info.. Kindest Regards Graham Pascoe

The Dark Horses' excellent win saw them jump two spots to 3rd while BEtza Grand lost one place in defeat. ROUND 4 Race 10 - Randwick R8 1st - 3 Alizee W-$2.00 2nd - 13 Shumookh Q-$9.50 Scr: nil 2 Five No Trumps (2nd) $1034.20 0 points 3 Mainly Dollarz (1st) $1156.00 2 points The FNT's only hope Frolic got way back and ran on late and wide but to no avail so the top dogs held on with final collects from TC (quinella), Brian and Jack. Final scorers for the Trumps were Rob (BB quinella), Ian and Redrum. Ian just edged team mate Steve for Man of the Match while Jill just headed Jack for Dollarz MVP. No bonus points were scored. 131.00 Rob 361.00 Jack 402.40 Ian 89.00 Brian 104.00 Redrum 374.40 Jill 396.80 Steve 0.00 Richie 0.00 Ray 331.60 The Crucible 1 The Rubiks* (4th) $789.60 0 (x 2 Joker play) = 0 points 4 The Dark Horses (5th) $1574.00 4 points Cubes' Joker play proved disastrous (and I'm sure his team will be swabbed) but he can console himself with Man of the Match honours after his side were beaten with a race still to run. Their final collects came from Hesi (BB), Kloppite (quinella) and Geoff. The Dark Horses were the form side of the day and finished in style with all 5 on the winning fave in the last while Sarah added a BB quinella although she was just headed by Rosina (who unluckily faced Cubes) for MVP honours. The Dark Horses took bonus points for a team profit and the 4-1 margin. 108.00 Kloppite 381.00 Sarah 402.80 Cubes 388.20 Rosina 159.80 Hesi 338.60 Korio 46.00 Roland 261.80 Skelly 73.00 Geoff 204.40 Moose 1 The Betza Grand* (3rd) $713.80 0 (x 2 Joker play) = 0 points 4 The Royle Family (7th) $1191.40 3 points Shumookh nearly stole it for the Betzas in the last but 2nd was her lot so the Royle's prevailed an added a bonus point for a 4-1 margin as Sharne got up to nail Grame with a BB (no love for Kauri Kat old mates !). Heather and Pam added their 4th winners of the day for the Royles in the last also. Final Betza collects came from Robert (with a BB quinella), PJ and Dave who was just edged for MVP honours by Captain Betty. Captain Pete was a majestic MVP for the Royles with the day's biggest tally. 53.00 Graeme 86.00 Sharne 126.00 PJ 659.40 Pete 148.00 Robert 189.00 Pam 194.00 Betty 257.00 Heather 192.80 Dave 0.00 Jen 2 Lay Down Mizere (6th) $1014.20 0 points 3 Ad Augusta (8th) $1073.40 2 points LDM's big chance to turn it around in the last - Frolic - tried hard but found the 1200m a bit short this time in so the Ad Augustas scored a much needed win led by Man of the Match Tom. Gordy was MVP for the Miseres. Everyone bar Wrinkles got the final winner with BBs for Steve P, Rees and Catalano, while Tom snagged the quinella with John, Gordy and Howie landing BB quinellas. Probably best to stay away today. The way some the races were run down there today were a farce. Coulee winning the 'open class' race went more than a second slower than the maiden race, and the cup was a dawdle fest with the first 3 all the way over the 2600m the first 3 home.

Went there 2 years ago and they offered the best deal ever offered, from memory it was $200 per starter,3 days accommodation at a nice motel and there was something else but Alzheimer's is a buggar. The club also had a 10k Trainers prize and unbelievably Kevin Myers had 4plus winners and ran 2nd as each starter earned points and Rogie had float loads of starters

But seriously, does anyone think like me that the standard of tipping in PJ Super Comps is getting better year-by-year.Here is a 6th v 8th matchup featuring players the calibre of John, Steve P, Gordy, Casper, Catalano and others, players who have regularly graced Grand Finals and won Grand Finals. You'd think looking at the lineups that this is a Grand Final match, not a 6th placed team v 8th placed team match.

Howie v Steve P. Steve's record in recent Comps is second to almost none. So I'm starting my study now ...even though the fields aren't out.
