No one has ever been restricted from betting on the tote. With tote rebates it doesn't matter if you had a winning or losing month you get 5% of your turnover back. Most of us on here are aware if you want to bet into a 100-105% market you use betfair. If you want to be able to lay off for a small profit you use betfair. If you want to lay a horse you think is unders you use betfair. If you want to bet sports in play you definitely use betfair. NZ TAB is no different to the majority of overseas bookies, and as much as Brodie complains like a little girl with no alternatives, fact of the matter is he's just lazy.

Brodie if you are Elite which you have said you are you just need to click on elite button and go to events and you can go to any of there events that are there. I wonder about you and your cedibility. I think you overstate your true punting ability and the money you actually spend. Can anyone on this entire forum vouch for your incredible ability and phenomenal strike rate. To put that much fear through several different agencies in Australia is incredible in itself. Any chance of letting us all in on Powerball next draw champ ?

Here are the rules for newbies and those who want to check: THE RULES 1. Players. Each team will consist of 5 players. If you can't play on a given day you may nominate a sub from outside the comp or have a team mate post for you although in the latter instance their selections on behalf of the missing player must vary from their own to some degree. 2. Draw. The draw will match each team against another team every day until all teams have played each other by the conclusion of Round 7. 3. Selections. Competitors are required to select two runners per race. No subs are to be posted. All selections should be posted at the same time although I may make allowances if this is not possible due to late arrival for posting. Posting the same numbers for each race is not permitted. I don't think your team mates would want you to do that anyway. You must post at least 6 different (initial) selections to your opponent if you post after them. 4. Scratching Rule. You may post replacements for any scratching by editing your original post up until 11.00am on raceday. After that time any selection which is scratched will be replaced by the TAB sub followed by the 2nd favourite by TAB win odds in that order. If more than one horse meets the latter criteria then the replacement will be the horse with the higher number. 5. Investments. Each selection will be regarded as an imaginary $10 win bet while if both selections start, a $2 quinella combining the two selections will also be credited to the competitor. So that's a $22 investment per race per competitor if two tips are submitted. 6. Best Bet. Each selector may choose two races each day as a "best bet" selection. All $$$ earned from these races will be doubled. In the event of scratchings the same best bet (BB) will apply. There will be no transference to a subsequent race. If your best bet race is abandoned - bad luck !@ 7. H-T-H. The draw will pit individual players from the two teams drawn to play each other, against each other in head-to-head competition. The player with the most $$$ at the conclusion of the round is the winner for his team. The team with 3 or more winners wins the match. 8. Countback. If a head-to-head contest is a tie on $$$ earned then a countback will determine the winner by award victory to the player who uniquely selected the highest placed horse in the final event. In other words if you both selected the same horse that cancels itself out. It would be the two selections which are different which will determine the tie-breaker. If the selections are the same for the final event then the same parameter will apply to the penultimate race and so on. 9. Points. Teams will be awarded points as follows: 3-2 win - 2 points 4-1 win - 3 points 5-0 win - 4 points Bonus points Team profit bonus - 1 point Losing team with higher aggregate than their conquerors - 1 point So a well performed side which still loses may earn as many points (2) as a side which wins narrowly . 10. Joker. No Joker will operate in this comp. 11. Posting. Please post your selections by number (names are optional and unnecessary). If you post replacements for scratched horses then do so in anew post rather than edit your original. 13. Closing Time. There is no closing time but selections are only valid if posted at least one minute before the starting time of the first or any race. My decision is final in this and all other matters. 14. Winner. The winning team shall be the one who accumulates the most points over the 7 days. If teams are tied on points a countback on total $$ earned over the 7 days will apply as a tiebreaker. I am keen to see what they replaced the Brodsters Elite Button with. Anyone prepared to hazard a guess ?

I find that statement a bit tricky to reconcile with your statements in previous threads about not being able to get a four figure bet on.

There are big punters who never bet on the tote that do make profit as well, I think you've been brainwashed a bit too much by that mythical creature named Brodie who has been told 100079 times how to get around a restriction yet still bleats on about it. There's a big difference between a maiden trot at forbury and a race where all the form is practically exposed ( Vincent's race on NYE ). The Brodster also bleats on about how watching the all stars dominating is boring and that no one can make money off a $1.60 fav, he's wrong. You'd be silly if you were a large punter and didn't have multiple accounts for certain circumstances. I mainly use the NZTAB / betfair. Why the NZTAB? It's easy, rebates, I can bet fixed odds the day before / early in the morning if I think I'm getting overs ( can't do that on betfair ), i can get my winning's back instantly, I can also use an agency if needed. Fairly certain there's atleast a couple thousand elite customers, potentially more. There's a range of levels depending on your turnover but we are still waiting to hear back from Brodie to see what elite tier he is ( since he admitted he's an elite ) before saying any more information.

People can be unlimited through the tote. People do get restricted on FOB so they can only win a certain amount. NZ TAB are way more lenient than other agencies e.g. 365. Sportsbet luxbet who will virtually cut you off after a big win. I believe about 100k turnover a year to get to the lowest elite level.

    Franklin Cup Night

Yeh right but what would Roy know ROY REMEMBERS LEGEND ROY PURDON LOOKS BACK ON THE HORSES AND TIMES THAT MADE HIM FAMOUS Mark's appeal was unsuccessful but I was not really surprised. It is very hard to get a penalty changed over there at any time. This is a very busy time for everyone in harness racing and i am impress with the way Tim has handled his responsibilities at Cambridge with a big team. It is not an easy assignment and the encouraging thing is that Tim has stepped up to the challenge and answered it well. For a young man he is showing he can handle the pressure and you always want to see those sort of blokes coming through.

What other benefits from the TAB do they receive? First crack at the odds before they come up for the rest of us?

Good onthe starter for letting them go. Some of these drivers are trying to get an advantage over their rivals. I think Matt was trying to get a running start and got caught out. He had no need to circle away when he did. It was all done to try and gain an advantage. Not the first time he's done it. Was warned last week.

    RIU V M Hamilton

If anybody would like some humor for the Christmas period, go and have a read of the JCA report. The RIU inspectors were observing the property from the road with binoculars and they alleged that Murray was seen saddling a horse up,so what i say,it was on private property. This was recorded on 27th and 28th September and Mr Hamilton's disqualification ended within 7days,to me this is unnecessary enforcement of the Rules and would go as far to say victimisation of Mr Hamilton.I say this, as what would this have cost for the RIU with the accommodation for the 2 inspectors, travel expenses and the time involved. If the RIU is insisting on enforcing the Rules, especially on this minor incident, then tell me why wasn't the co-chief Stipendiary Steward McIntyre investigated and charged for aiding Neal to cover his tracks in a major incident It appears a clear case of double standards to me.
