In regards to the training reference you make, its surely no secret that its actually not difficult at all to TRAIN a greyhound as you have pointed out...however it is very difficult for a novice to prepare a greyhound and present that dog to the races 100% SOUND and INJURY/NIGGLE free in order for that dog to run its best possible race for you...this "mastercraft" takes years and years of practice to perfect and some are leagues above others at carrying this out....in my opinion the countries leading/top trainers are the best because they have mastered the art (through years of practice) of checking over dogs properly, its not easy to detect some injuries and being able to do this effectively gives you a huge advantage, you can not only start treating the injury at an early stage but your knowledge has given you the ability to detect it before it potentially "ruins" the dog.4 points -
I guess it proves that if you deliver a superior product, with huge amounts of information available to the punter, and minimise environmental factors by providing decent tracks, then there's still a huge international appetite for the racing product. All of the above seem to escape those who purport to run NZ racing though.3 points

I actually think he is rather entertaining in a 'car crash' sort of way! Often find myself trying to predict how he will pronounce certain words and how many variations we will get on the same word. Love it when he is on and Dominic Tournuer is riding!3 points -

Lazy Auckland people not prepared to travel. Auckland is the weakest region in the country. The racing in Auckland is boring. They only seem to have squibs. They are incapable of breeding any race dogs 500 plus. There Sunday meeting is borrrrring.2 points -

For what it's worth AFL [ footy ] in Aussie averages 34,000 per game over approx 200 games per season in main cities. Our religion Rugby sees crowds dwindling apart from AB's tests. Racing popularity in NZ is dwindling and spending a day at races with 35-40 mins between races has very little appeal.Theres so much else to do. Throw in the changing face of our population ,the traffic /transport issues ,and its not easy to see the industry is doomed and NZ's population not big enough to turn things around. Hong Kong pop over 7 million !...with plenty of disposable income and little to do !2 points -

Greyhounds appear to be to be a tight organisation with a few key players. why s there no public auctions as in australia of young dogs so new "blood"can get involved. often the question is asked how much does a dog cost and how much s training? Of course the first part would be determined by a public auction and like horses can range greatly. trainers may like to give a guide here.I personally like greyhounds having been brought up with trips to kumeu and mount smart in auckland . Hatrick is great for Whanganui but lots more owners would bring more atmoshere and turnover.1 point -

That was a quick change of tone going from 'he doesn't race his best at Auckland' to 'your jealous'. I say good on Cole for winning all the races they can. I wouldnt consider myself jealous of his accomplishments and chances are, Cole will only win more races as their breeding gets stronger. Still can't hide the fact that only around 50 of his wins have come from other districts where as the other 630 are around two tracks. Surely makes you wonder doesnt it? Especially when McInerney had to set up and establish two kennel facilities to win those same amount of races down south and in the cd1 point -

Worse thing is you will get to the track on Thursday and ask around and there will be 6 + other trainers that will say the same thing and more than likely for the same grade/distance you nomed for...makes me wonder sometimes...might be time they make the nom's a little bit more available for industry participants to view?..keeps it totally out there and open that way.1 point -

Auction idea been tried (if not tried definately talked about) but the interest and stock wasnt there. No one breeds litters to sell them, their worried they might sell the one "group" dog from the litter given they generally sell them at 3 months old so impossible to determine whats good and whats not....to be honest if you aint buying a pup at 3-6 months old then dont bother...it will be a lemon or has issues...heres a tip for you: no one will sell you a young race dog that has ability to go to the top grade unless firstly your monetary offer is so good they cant resist, or you buy one from Aussie cause it seems their less prone to want to "tuck" people surprisingly, only way to get a good dog is buy one at 3 months old completely based off breeding and cross your fingers, hands and feet that it can run...hope this helps.1 point -

Stock market at record levels, Surge in business optimism,Withdrew from tpp, Stood up for law enforcement,Positive changes in veterans affairs, Plans to destroy criminal cartels,Illegal border crossings dropped significantly,Rolled back unnecessary regulations particularly for manufacturers,Unemployment dropped,Plants and manufacturers moving back to us, Stood up for religious groups rights, has not pandered to those with gender issues Supreme court judge appointment Just some of the most obvious, oh and lets not forget just recently he has helped miss usa 2006 to get sober....what a guy.. Once Obama care is replaced he will then deliver on his other promises. Thats his party slow walking that issue. Strange you blame Trump for pitting American against American since he became president. Obviously we see things different there as I thought it obvious the democrats and the media have been and still are trying to do this. Americans have shown in polls they recognize the media bias, and I have no doubt the same one sided reporting is influencing nz ers opinions. Remember under Obama the rich got richer and the gap between those that have and those that don't got greater.Even the democrats agree many of their foreign policies were failures. As a final comment,i agree with trumps and winstons views that bringing in large numbers of foreign labour is not whats best for either country. I will give you an example of how they are exploited and how they drive down pay rates. In one of our local rest homes,a good sized one, you rarely see a local apart from the manager. Because they had been on the minimum wage and been under staffed all the locals left, replaced one by one with people from india and the philippines. Very nice people and hard workers willing to accept poor pay rates and pressure of being understaffed just to get residency. Well I was talking to one of them I know today and commented to them that they would be welcoming the recent pay rise. Well it turns out yes they did get the pay rise, but guess what, they had all had their hours cut so in reality they were not getting anymore in wages. I had been told(by several) they were already under staffed, and now it seems they will be even moreso. I asked the person why they put up with such a situation and was told they had no choice as to look for work elsewhere would require another work visa application with no guarantee of it being approved. I was told many were already on the road to being burnt out,but they would soldier on as what choice did they have.1 point -

I've always followed Donald Trumps career. No one can deny prior to going into politics he had been very, very successful in business. There can be no denying that. Clearly that was his focus prior to running and becoming president. Now his focus has shifted to doing whats best for his country and the average American family. Love him or hate him, everything he does seems focused on improving the lives of americans. Its so simple. That's what people voted. America first. I used to think people who did not support him disliked his personality, but clearly the longer he is there the more it becomes evident that he threatens systems previously in place, and threatens the power base that goes with it. Its understandable that many have a negative opinion of him here as all you ever get is one sided media coverage. The latest poll in America I saw this week had only 12% of americans thinking the media was doing a good job and not much more in the trusted stakes. Those stories are regurgitated world wide,Americans recognize what their media is doing, unfortunately many ,including those in nz do not recognize the biased they are being feed. At the end of the day he should be judged on results, not his personality.1 point -

I am happy to come out of the Trump closet and nail my colours to the mast. I would not have voted for Donald Trump and look on in disbelief at the manner in which he carries on. When the US electioneering was taking place in 2016, I felt Donald Trump presented like a cartoon character in The Simpsons or Family Guy. The false hair, the plastic wife, the name calling of opponents, the grandiose promises, etc. I'd chuckle away and think, "All good for a bit of a laugh." I thought everyone was in on the laugh. Then the American public went and elected him. Like the majority of NZ's I thought, "How could they possibly do that?" Now I'm asking "What does it say about American's, that they could elect a President such as Donald Trump?" He's continued to call people names, to tweet unsubstantiated claims (basically to tell lies), to put his family in places of high office, etc. For me, I feel NZ seriously needs to consider how closely we want to be aligned to a country with Donald Trump as their leader, knowing that the American people voted him into office.1 point -

I certainly hope Kerr is tracking all these Greyhounds, each and everyone, from cradle to the grave. I hope they are sighting all vet certs for those put down. I hope to see those shooting them are charged accordingly. I suspect the NZGRA are turning a blind eye to this. Why, because we have seen no, I repeat no prosecutions.1 point
