  1. It seems somewhat ironic that someone who complains so vociferously about Aaron White's OTT calling should then pen such an OTT response as this.

  3. What is this guys role? Is it to call races or secure his position socially within racing circles? His brown nosing is at times very difficult to cop. Got roped into going to the trots last night. Wish I hadn't. Trainer / driver Rhys Fensom has had modest success over the years. Yesterday his good lady gave birth to the latest addition to their family. Well done to all concerned. As we all know special / important moments happen to us all along the way. Acknowledging the recent arrival while yakking about race three was fair enough as Tabatha Fensom was driving the subsequent winner, the awfully named Dead Cat Bounce. That's where it should have started and ended but not with Aaron White. He felt compelled to go into a speal about the babies exact birth weight and individually named every member of the Fensom family and how wonderful it was for "Tab" to have a new baby brother bla bla bla. Tab this and Tab that over and over. This went well beyond simply acknowledging the birth of a baby. It was yet another Aaron White special to prove to everyone how he knows chapter and verse about everything personal with all his "close friends" who are industry participants. Of course he couldn't help himself during the race. Must have mentioned "Tab" Fensom at least twenty farking times. It was stomach turning as per usual. Then on to the next race where it's D.J.B and the Iceman but here comes The Magic Man and wider it comes The Wizard and Scotty with a beautifullllllllll drive....bla bla bla! I enjoy harness racing but not that much. I can't stomach his incessant brown nosing so my cue went straight back in the rack. The group of four I was with all commented about how off putting his ongoing obsequious actions are to those forced to endure them. Just call the races FFS! Leave all the other brown nosing for when you are licking their boots in their lounges. obsequious əbˈsiːkwɪəs/ adjective obedient or attentive to an excessive or servile degree. "they were served by obsequious waiters" synonyms: servile, ingratiating, unctuous, sycophantic, fawning, toadying, oily, oleaginous, greasy, grovelling, cringing, toadyish, sycophantish, subservient, submissive, slavish, abject,

Do people on here do the Star Stable? Would it be worth like an Nz/racecafe league if there isn't one set up already? And discuss the gun cheap horses there are available because I'm battling!

  10. Alby Gain was big on plugging companies before, during and after races. It became obvious that this was not just "marketing". Naive to believe Alby was not receiving "perks" from the grateful people he was plugging repeatedly. Aaron White on the other hand would receive no brown envelopes for mentioning "The Wizard" EIGHT times in one race in the CD last summer. Can't imagine it being a directive from HRNZ. If it is why do no other callers go well other the top in this manner? Aaron loves rubbing shoulders with harness racing participants and the only thing that makes any real sense to me is good old fashioned brown nosing. If he mentioned "The Wizard" "The Postman" "Scotty" "The Magic Man" "The Iceman" once in a night then fair enough. Once a race is brown nosing. 4 to 8 times in the same race is just nuts and right up there with finger nails scratching down a blackboard. I honestly couldn't give a stuff how Tab Fensom and her sibling feel about the new addition to the family and what the birth weight is and if the family will have more children and where they are going away on holiday to in the new year. Talk about it in your own time. Just call the farking race! I'm pretty sure Mitchell's parents named him Todd not "The Wizard" and others were named Blair,Scott,Maurice and Tony (Antony) etc etc. It's my understanding that Tony's good wife Suzanne calls him "sweetpea". So is Aaron White going start calling him that now? I thought jockey Grant Cooksley was "The Iceman" Who cares? I don't mind Sydney racecallers saying "The Pumper" gets the best out of bla bla in a tight finish to win when Jimmy Cassidy does the business. What I don't want to hear is The Pumper before the start. The Pumper when they jump. The Pumper at the 1400, The Pumper at the 800 and 400,then at the finish and while returning to scale. Thank god there are no extreme brown nosing Australian race callers.

    Hastings weather

Cheers Hesi Noms posted 1:06pm and finally updated Meeting News with current track reading. One would think bearing in mind what happened last time a bit more urgency and attention to detail for this weeks big day would be a priority . Puha, Can you give us an accurate weather report down there. Cheers.

    RIP Pauline Deacon

Sadly passed away this morning surrounded by family and loved ones following a brief deterioration in health. Pauline was a vibrant, elegant and respected lady of the industry who was a regular attendee of race meetings and fashion in the field competitions in latter years following an exceptional training career with her late husband Brian, having trained, over the course of decades outstanding horses of the New Zealand turf including the likes of Copper Belt, Mr Mink, Sky Flyer and American group one winning mare Pride Of Rosewood to name but a few. Thoughts are with the Deacon, Mudgway, Anderton, Gray, Myers and Lang families as well as many others who will dearly miss her.

  15. Hesi... It all starts to fit now. The new avatar... Ted's information highlighting that you have stopped taking your meds.... Ted, just watch out if they are passing around any pre-match supplements in the changing room before your next match! I am off to study up for the Aussie racing. With it back at Hastings this week, in-depth analysis could be wasting time. Then again if at Sydney that could be time wasting too. Oh the dilemma! Ok then back to the rugby...

    Only my Opinion

The first three home in the Underwood Stakes were 8 yos. Shortly the Sydney and Overseas horses will be joining in the dance. Hope I am wrong but I can't see either Mongolian Khan or Volkstok'N'Barrell winning at the Melbourne Spring Carnival.

  19. I don't know the guy personally but I do know a couple of people who do and they reckon he is not a bad bloke. I am sure he is doing his best but sometimes things go wrong(bearing in mind that - as I say - he did have a bit to say about Ashburton and Dunedin having issues so if you give it you have to be prepared to receive it). If they had plastered water all over that track up till the Tuesday then it rained they would have been soundly bagged for turning it into a bog. In my view this ridiculous obsession with irrigating tracks and the official decrees re dead 4 on the morning of the races is a crock of shiite. The best racing in the last two years was at Trentham early 2014 when they presented good 2's for the first two days they a good 3 on day three. If a horse cannot handle a firm track the time to race him is in the winter. Pitty is right(as he often is) - no irrigation in the week leading up to the meeting.

150 mm and still counting! I like Thorn Prince at @26 on FF with the likely hood of a rain affected surface. His demo of the Tauramanui Cup field this year sticks in my memory.
