  1. Agreed Josh As i said, there are some good people who are willing to contribute to the discussion and provide good information but each thread then gets taken over by people for their own use Gay1, you are a troll and everyone on here knows it so no use arking up I have been asked to write the following: It should be noted that Taylor and Steve have had discussion between each other (away from this site) and Steve was glowing in is praise that Taylor was big enough to make the call - Taylor felt bad for the public comments he made and Steve accepted the apology Steve said that he also was apologetic that the words he used were poorly written and in no way did he intend to hurt Karen Walsh or her reputation (too many wines and not enough beers - his words not mine lol) All is good between the camps They both feel that this is the end of the matter

  4. Couldn't agree more with that comment. It's a well know fact through out the greyhound industry that race cafe is a complete waste of time. Due to the garbage that's posted day in and day out. Sad but true!

  5. Its really sad about people who stick the knife in when in fact they really have nothing better to do...........and do not ever have the true facts.........and write lies on web sites without putting their real name, address and phone number, also without true black and white backing evidence.........When I say that actual physical evidence of the event or events happening, its just hang im high at noon on here............Owners have nothing to do with training a dog at all when in the care of a public trainer..........and what public trainer would risk his million dollar business for a few thousand $...................Winners treat animals like people and people like Brothers and Sisters..............I think the matter is very sad.......I say this without Prejudice.........

  7. I guess you are referring to petrol vouchers? And who is the was the main beneficiary of that? Not everyone agrees that they are a good thing, I just wonder if he has the vested interests of us all at heart, and I know he thinks trainers should be able to get rid of their dogs any way they like which I just can't agree with, so he is the last one I would vote for, but everyone has their own opinion I guess, a pity we didn't get a few more candidates I suppose, we might get someone we would like to vote for rather electing the best of a mediocre bunch.

  9. Well I wasn't going to vote either, but if you don't vote then you have no right to complain about who gets the position. I won't be for Calverley as he is too weak IMO and doesn't put across our views strongly enough, just there to please the board, McInerney just cares about his own interests and has no interest in welfare at all which is not a good look for our industry, so looks like it's the devil I don't know much about who will get my vote in Williams, can't be worse than the other 2 can he?

  10. Personally, I think John Mcinerney is the best one to vote for, from what I have heard, that alan williams is a hot head and to be honest, has calverly really done anything for the trainers during his time as the rep (no offence), and sure, mcinerney might be looking out for his own interests, but his own interests i think will benifet all trainers around the country

    Race Again!

It seems here we go again with this outfit as the Otaki races have been transferred to Awapuni as their track is waterlogged mainly from crossing to 1400m as stated by their overseeing Track Manger Kim Treweek. Is this not part of the area that they had drainage done on last year causing the track to be out of action and is it once again the incompetence of Race to do a job right the first time. Like at Awapuni only doing the turn from the 600 to winning post went reconstructed and now they have problems with the 800m turn, so is it to save money and take the tracks out of action twice to do something that should be done as one job. That could be said about Riccarton as well because 16 years ago they reconstructed the track now they need to redo the drainage that's never worked even before the earthquakes.

  16. Horse of the Year ceremony will be held a week from tonight (Thursday 14th). Here are the rules for each of the categories: http://www.nzracing.co.nz/downloads/Voting%20Rules.Thoroughbred%20Racing%20Awards.pdf Note that under the awards for horses that have raced in the past season (Sprinter, Stayer, Jumper, etc) it states: Finalists: Finalists comprise the three or four horses selected by the Recommendations Panel. Nominated horses must have been trained by a person holding a NZ licence for the season under review and must have been stabled in NZ for more than half of the season. If a horse is transferred to an overseas stable those starts for the new trainer not licensed in NZ will not count for the purposes of these awards. So in Dundeel's case, you'd imagine he would be eligible, since every start next to his name would have had "Murray Baker, Cambridge" marked, despite the horse not actually racing in NZ.

  17. Dundeel is trained by a kiwi based trainer so he has all the right to get the award. Who cares if he didn't race here, he's a kiwi horse. A horse as good as him doesn't come around very often so let's celebrate it. In saying that Silent Achiever deserves the award just as much after her group 1's so good luck to the panel selecting this one.

  18. Don't think he is saying that , what he means is IMO that a certain few on here have no interest in contributing constructively to any topic , they just want to stir shit ( nothing better to do). That is why so many decent posters have left this site.

    Michele Neilson

No comments of congratulations for Michelle on winning the NZ Junior Drivers Championship last week? I thought her drive on Lord Baltimore was very good. She had clearly done her homework and decided the horse was best when saved for one run and she handed up to the right horse/driver to ensure she wouldn't be caught any further back on the fence than the trail. She should be in for a good season.

I personally think he is fantastic and one of the best out there. Very knowledgeable and gets on well with everyone he interviews and most importantly knows what his next question will be unlike many out there. Sarcasm !!!! i would prefer to call it tongue in cheek humor..... :-)
