Poor old Trev - had 4 in the last in his Quaddie and couldn't get one in the first 3. Heartbreaking stuff. And he was talking up Homebush Edith big time last time on track. Oh how he'll be kicking himself. After tonight, before seeing the draws for the final, I think Russell Hart is the one. Goes well from any draw. Then Raw Energy and then Piggy. Ate too Much can only win from inside. Was awesome to see Rodriguez get up. Love the musician (saw him last year - unreal!!) and the dog too! But won't have the same dogs lining up next time. Roll on the Galaxy heats tomorrow. Fun times2 points

ReillyM and Cat... I agree with both your perspectives. This is shaping up to be a real humdinger of a race. The best racing the best always is. This is what real punting is all about...judgement calls However, despite the importance of gambling to the future of racing, it must always be the horses that take centre stage. Otherwise, there is no real reason for the existence of the sport and industry. There are a multitude of opportunities for gambling. All the best.1 point

Hurricanes Joker Play

Im not the Captain, but we should be able to foil the Ferdies by playing ours too. We are way overdue for a big one. How we are still in 3rd place overall has me baffled considering our eratic form. OK Reilly,Im up for it . How about the rest of you???. Go the Mighty HURRICANES1 point -
I agree re Know Advantage. Defnitely on top but short. More Better's also way too short. And I agree re Starbust Josh. He and Follow Fame were the two potential Galaxy winners i picked before i saw the heat fields. Didn't realise they were in same heat.1 point

I agree, looks a very tough day to be confident about anything. Guru Goose does look the bet of the day in the 1st, was super last start against the impressive Allegro Star. Know Advantage looked a great each way bet before I saw the odds, bit short on the fixed but you know he's going to be in the first 3. Starburst Josh is my quaddie anchor, has really come of age the last 3 months and never goes a bad race, expecting Follow Fame to beat him out but if he gets an uninterrupted run I think he will be too strong. Looking forward to finishing work and watching the replays! Good luck to all punters, trainers and owners!1 point

hmmm, i reckon you could lose a lot of dough today There are a whole bunch of good locals with huge question marks over their form. A few imports I know nothing about and other vistors who may not handle Addington. It's hold your breath stuff going into that first bend. The gorgeous Goose ought to win. Field in behind? And maybe Dixie / Eureka /Field? Might be a day to sit back and watch. Good luck all1 point

Back in the early 70s mum would pile us all into the falcon, no seat belts in the back and front ones unused. The back seat was usually a brawl within a mile. The cars were very solid back then and this didn't help people survive high impacts.1 point

Days Out Who Will Win The Melbourne Cup

Fiorente hasn't put a foot wrong so far and is proven at the trip. Ibicenco seems to be coming on at the right time. Dunaden and Red Cadeaux don't appear to be getting much love this year.1 point -
What about that Melbourne Cup field eh Opo? And do you think CM can beat TTL in the NZ Trotting Cup?1 point

Yep, 20 each way ( 1 race / Cup ) sounds the go Jason. Cheers1 point -
bblunt, I don't hate squib races. The best cricketers still play at the 20-20 World Cup - the best of the greyhound breed are running in the NZ Cup heats and not the Galaxy. And that is my point as to why G2 is more than enough recognition for the Galaxy.1 point

Not getting into sprinter vs middle distance debate at all ReillyM. I'm debating the merits of G1 vs G2. Yes just because NZ promotes squib racing, 80% of NZ races are sprints, but that doesn't mean that squib racing deserves G1 status because of a majority. It just means majority of NZ races are for the defects of the breed.1 point
