To be or not to be ... Unruly

There are also quite a few trotters that seem to go away far better from the outside of the unruly, instead of say the inside or middle of the unruly line. Its got to be a psychological thing for horses that do that. Majestic hurricane is one of those that seems very claustrophobic. Maybe its the same for st Michel. I've pointed out previously the confusing thing is in the north island your starter has been sending any horse playing up pre start to the outside of the unruly horses. In the south island the Canterbury starter has been sending them to the inside of the unruly horses. Surely there should be some consistency amongst starters. One of them is wrong, not sure which one.
  14. Last start Group 3 winner Vigor Winner will be vying for more stakes success when he tackles the Group 3 Fred Best Classic (1400m) at Eagle Farm on Saturday. The Lauren Brennan-trained galloper has been consistent in his four career starts, recording three victories and a runner-up performance in the Group 2 Wellington Guineas (1400m). The Cambridge trainer will saddle progressive stayer Felaar in the Listed Andrew Ramsden Stakes (2800m) at Flemington on Saturday, with the winner guaranteed a start in the Gr.1 Melbourne Cup (3200m) at the same course on the first Tuesday in November. Felaar won the […]View the full article

  18. "FAREWELL TO AUTUMN RACING WITH THE KINGSFORD-SMITH POINTS COMP" ENTRY THREAD : POST YOUR SELECTIONS AND JOIN IN THE FUN TO FAREWELL AUTUMN RACING Selection Rules: 1. Select ONE horse in each race. Please post using the horse number. You can post the number and the name if you want, but if the number and name are different I will go with the number and disregard the name. Once you post your selections they cannot be changed unless you have a scratching replacement. 2. Points allocated for placings: Win 5 pts / Second 3 pts / Third 1 pt 3. Comp races 4,6 and 8 are bonus races and you will earn triple points if you win ie. 3 x 5. Second and third placing pts remain the same ie. 1 x pts. 4. Select two comp races as your Best Bet races and any pts earned will be doubled. You cannot use a BB on a bonus race (4,6 or 8), if you do it will be disregarded. 5. Any scratching can be replaced up until 1.50pm. After 1.50pm any scratching will go on the TAB sub. 6. Entries close at 1.50pm - 30 minutes before the first scheduled comp race start time. 7. and most importantly ... Have fun How the pairs comp will work: As you post your selections I will draw out a number between 1 and 60 and I will post that on the selections thread so you can follow the numbers drawn as we go. I may post these in groups so don't expect a number to suddenly appear as soon as you post The number I draw out will be your slot on my results sheet. For example if you post your selections and I draw out 33 then that's your position, and when I draw out 34 for someone, then that someone will be your partner in crime for the pairs comp - so the pairs will be 1/2, 3/4, 5/6 etc. If we get more than 60 selectors I will add on as we go and if we get less than 60 as at comp close, then I will couple up those without a pairing ie. an 11 without a 12 and a 41 without a 42 - then I will move 41 to become a 12 to make up the 11/12 pair. Your points score and your partner's points score will be added together after each race. The pair that has the highest points score after Race 10 will be the winners of the Farewell to Autumn Pairs Points Comp. box seat ,debate on blood spinning

I'm sorry that you wont be happy with this answer but it not banned in Australia if it was the Labs in Melbourne and Sydney would be closed. I'm not sure how much oxygen is carried in Serum hopefully some of the scientists on here will know.
  22. Do you think Racing may have started to go down hill from the moment people with no interest in it or passion for it started running things? I have always found rather ignorant the suggestion that Racing people are too thick to run their own show. And don't anyone suggest that Racing people haven't done much of a job running the show in the past. I would suggest that it is probably about 25-30 years since Racing people have been actively involved in running the show. Getting outsiders in hasn't worked too well so far.

  25. You've all got you heads so far up some space that the black hole couldn't recognise where. All the larger earners do is follow the rules that a bunch of bureaucrats and lawyers have stated are the rules. These rules are available to everyone, open source and transparent. This bullshit about paying tax is a lot of crap. Our issue is that we have had people who haven't known what the puzzle is, run racing. We continue to have that. We have poor leadership, poor middle management and poor constituent participants who are not able to express themselves correctly that leads to conflict, inefficiency and chaos. If you read most of the responses in this thread you will realise that most of you haven't thought this through and you're reacting from only your own personal perspectives. Leggy is right though....no mention that a member of RITA needs to be an expert in technology and gambling....big mistake

Winston gets the betting duty back for racing as promised

Well I guess the statement , the rich are cleaver is true , that's why they have succeeded , their efforts are well rewarded because they are cleaver , if the loopholes are there then why not use them , this isn't relevant . The fact is they high earners are paying most of the tax . You might be right about medium wage earners who claim little and pay for everything but low earners effectively pay NO tax , ZERO , is that fair to Top and Medium earners ? . In the racing world I suspect many don't much pay tax , certainly any trainer with a business will be claiming all expenses and won't be paying tax , a good argument to boost racing incomes .
  27. I think you will find most rich are clever and use tax loopholes , maybe that new car is brought through a company which then gets depreciation , get refunds and all manner of cash backs. Waged earner gets FA back and pays for everything .As everywhere those at top doing well , those at bottom looked after and those in middle pay for the lot of them up and down.
