It does seem to be a consequence of their desire to move punters online, that it disadvantages older people, who are in fact the mainstay of the industry.
  4. Alpha Delta Stables' homebred Raging Sea shakes off the rust of a nearly five-month layoff with a dominant victory in the $300,000 Doubledogdare Stakes (G3) at Keeneland. View the full article

Cambridge could be more proactive regards on course betting. The Sports Bar, where there is a large assortment of clientele, have removed the 2 betting nooks at the back of the room and now rely solely on a lovely lady doing her best in the corner of the bar. I know there is a machine in the room, but its reliability is suspect. Are the TAB hoping that everyone is going to do online betting on their phone? We have been a few times recently, I have watched the long line of hopeful punters between races, considered having a bet myself, but decided standing in a line for 10 minutes isn't worth the effort, and yes we do have a tab account, but being on course is a different kettle of fish? I think they have lost a few dollars? Our group like everyone to throw a few dollars on the table, there is a VERY complicated picking system of who spends the money, and we just wait and see, this happens all through the night. Now? Forget it....
  6. With you on Imprevu. Also Aftermath and Devastate later on programme.

Randwick R8 8 BEST BET R10. Mornington R6 8, 9 R11. Mornington R8 7, 10 R12. Mornington R9 2, 5 Well who knows how today will go. Did my selections 2 days ago but decided this morning I didn't like some of them so much anymore.Only one forced change through a scratching, but changed both of my Best Bets to other races, and put a second runner in with my original solo bets. I don't normally do things like that, prefer to go with my first thought, so hope it doesn't come back to bite me on the butt on the biggest day of all The best of luck to my team mates, Foxmerts, Pete and Stoyd in their individual H2H's today, and may TEAM BONECRUSHER DO THE BUSINESS ONE MORE TIME. Huge thanks to Scooby for the platform to run these comps and the prize funds he outs up, and to SNM for all of his work on scoring. It makes Saturday afternoons compulsory viewing on the small screen more than the big screen actually showing the racing. And most of all everybody; HAVE FUN!!!
  11. I was lucky enough to see him win the St George Stakes at Caulfield back in 2004. Magnificent looking horse, very compact. Being black possibly helped. Did he stamp his progeny with that compact look?
  12. Scratching Replacement : Ohokaman ( Scratched #3) Randwick R4: 1,12 ..
  13. R8 Blue Sky At Night was one I have been following since the spring. Was $18 on Wednesday but someones slammed it all the way down to $8.50 this morning. Also dont mind Imprevu in R1 although interesting to note after Wiremu jumped off her on KM night when running 4th, he said she would be better left-handed and up to 1400m. But shes found herself back at Ellerslie in a 1200m. Perhaps he didnt relay that feedback back to trainer
  14. Puketiro looks like crazy overs if you consider the way she won last time. The $3.30 fave may have been running 3rd to Hawaii Five Oh last year but its coming off a 10 month spell and looks short of its best distance so may be a hit out.
  15. Might end up being a positive that the rain has been consistently coming down for the last 12 hours or so. Eliminates the excuse of surface moisture from light drizzle. Rail in true position so cant use the excuse of the running on a new part of the track either. Suspect there may be more eyeballs on Race 1 than the Easter Handicap.. For the sake of the industry I wish them well
  16. So it might not only be the matted structure that's "well rooted" ?

  20. Ok i've put that change in, hope the tests go well!
  21. Been falling pretty consistently since midnight so you can imagine a 6/7 easily enough.
  22. Problem there Gruff is, will there be any horses working on the track prior to 11o'clock to get any sort of accurate assessment? I doubt it. They can walk, look and prod all they like but as long as it keeps raining, running a few races is the only way they'll see if it's successful or further disaster.
  23. Big race day , 3 black type races , if there's any issues with the track will they just continue ? OR , abandon and look completely stupid . I hope the track holds up but it's bloody sad that everyone is sitting wondering what is going to happen , after $55mil has been spent making it state of the art .

  26. Hey Pure Steel …always look at your picks and often take inspiration from them so today I’m having a punt on that Southport Tycoon you have mentioned and a multi with Fawkner Park that you pick both #12 and both in same colours ….what an omen thanks mate for providing that inspiration and wishing your team good fortune today
  27. He looks a beauty. Good luck to Cambridge Stud. ANZ_240420 (anzbloodstocknews.com)
