HRNZ have seen the light, it has taken 49 days, but yesterday morning they posted new raceday performance figures.
New figures as at 16th April;
North GBR as % of Funding 63.2% Races 495
Central 97 % 815
South 89.8% 445
Even more obvious today that the commentator must of backed Special Effects
why can’t this person just commentate the race, without his personal investment getting in the way….
I seem to recall that HRNZ belatedly gave Cambridge something like $150k for the first year, not for the race Stake but for administration, after all they are getting the betting return without funding the race.
I also think I saw a statement from Cambridge last year saying they did not get as much from HRNZ as they were expecting.
Not sure about this year, but I would think that with the addition of the Trotting race and the $466 GBR, they should have received a significant contribution from HRNZ.
Forgot this was on last week as it panned. The Rough Habit team mates have given you something to catch it seems John . with you running a solid 4th.
'Roughie' looking good for the quinella by the look of it. excellent stuff.
so just for a bit of fun >>> Veandercross 5-0 and Rough Habit 5-0 . thanks and Happy days !
Hmmmm.. no explanation? They change their mind like the weather. Think it is anything to do with the matting being broken up changing the readings?
After discussing the matter with the team from StrathAyr, Chris Hay, Track Manager at Elwick Racecourse in Tasmania (a racecourse also in possession of a StrathAyr track) and New Zealand Thoroughbred Racing, it has been agreed that using penetrometer readings to determine the level of firmness of the Ellerslie track is a flawed process.
Therefore, for the foreseeable future, the Ellerslie track will be declared a Good 4 irrespective of rainfall. This track rating will be a more accurate guide for stakeholders including the wagering public.
ATR has every intention of continuing to publicise the Ellerslie track penetrometer readings once they are more reflective of how the track will perform.
