FIRST SUCCESS FOR SIRE ADELAIDE

FIRST SUCCESS FOR SIRE ADELAIDE

Coolmore Australia sire Adelaide sired his first winner yesterday when Funstar scored an emphatic win in the All Too Hard at Vinery Maiden Handicap (1250m) at Canterbury.

The Chris Waller-trained juvenile justified favouritism when scooting 3-1/4 lengths  clear of Tawaret in second, with a further length and a quarter back to Classic Gaming in third.

A four-time winner on the track, including the Group 1 Secretariat Stakes (10f) at Arlington Park and the Group 1 Cox Plate (2040m) on his penultimate outing, Adelaide will stand for an unchanged fee of $A11,000 this season having covered 102 mares at that cost in 2018.
