Hot favourite The Autumn Sun, pictured left, has come up with barrier five in a field of 15 for Saturday’s $2 million Caulfield Guineas (1600m).
The Chris Waller-trained colt is rated an even-money chance with Sportsbet following the favourable draw on Tuesday.
The Autumn Sun is already a two-time Group One winner having taken out the JJ Atkins during the Brisbane winter carnival and the Golden Rose at his latest outing.
Darren Weir has the next two contenders in the market with Leonardo Ha Hinchi ($7) and Native Soldier ($9).
Leonardo Da Hinchi, who is coming off a win in the Group Two Stutt Stakes (1600m), will jump from barrier 10 with Brad Rawiller in the saddle while Native Soldier, who was a two-length winner of the Prelude (1400m), will start alongside The Autumn Sun in barrier 4.
Godolphin colt Ranier’s luckless run has extended to the barrier draw, coming up with the outside stall.
Damian Lane will take the ride on Ranier, who was a good thing beaten at Flemington last Saturday.
Oohood, for Tony McEvoy, is the sole filly in the race.
