ENZO’S LAD COULD BACK UP IF TRACK FIRMS

Having been at the mercy of a wet track when 11th in Tuesday’s King’s Stand Stakes, New Zealand sprinter Enzo’s Lad could well bid for compensation in tomorrow’s Diamond Jubilee after trainer Michael Pitman opted to leave the gelding in at the final declaration stage.

“We’re hopeful that the track dries out as he seems to have come through the race in really good order,” Pitman said.

“I’m happy with the horse, but if I’m not 100 per cent then he won’t run and we’ll wait for the July Cup on July 13. He needs a good track, he’s a wet track duffer so we’ll see what happens.”
