Introduction to The Race Cafe
The Race Cafe is a discussion/chat site. Although we have many additional areas and features, the focus in on communicating with each other. Since our launch in April 2000 we have developed a real community and enjoyed many significant achievements.
If you are familiar with internet discussions you shouldn't have too much trouble learning how things work here. However you need to be aware that our operating policy is quite unique -- this is not a completely open forum. We have a selection process to determine which messages are published. Please don't be put off by this - in the vast majority of cases this won't prevent you from participating fully.
It's important to understand that there is a hugely diverse range of users here, from casual punters to top jockeys, from stable hands to industry leaders. Naturally there are widely differing points of view on many issues. You may find that things get a bit heated from time to time -- this is to be expected, but we do not allow all-out war. Whilst we are here to discuss and work through issues, we ask you to do so in a calm, civilised manner.
Participating in the Forums
To learn how to post messages etc, see the Helpdesk. We strongly recommend taking some time to read through old messages and getting the feel of this community before diving in.
