Forum Help : Start a New Thread

There are two types of messages you can post:

  1. New message -- This creates a new discussion topic. Replies to this message make up a thread.
  2. Reply -- Reply to a specific message which has already been posted.

To post a new message, first go to the main Message Index of the group you wish to post to.

Near the top (and bottom) of the page, you'll see a toolbar like the one below. Click "Post New Message".

Post New Message | Search | FAQ | Rules

You will then be taken to a page with a form like the one below.

If you'd like to include a link to another page with your message, please provide both the URL address and the title of the page:

Optional Link URL:
Optional Link Title:
  • Enter your details and message, then click either "Preview Message" or "Submit Message".
  • Providing your e-mail address is optional.
  • When typing your message, it's not necessary to hit your enter key at the end of each line - this formatting is done automatically. Hitting the enter key will create a new paragraph; hitting it twice creates a space before the next paragraph.
  • To create a hyperlink in the body of your message, type the URL using this form: www.yoursite.com
As long as there is a space before and after the URL, it will be automatically converted to a hyperlink.
  • If you preview your message, you'll be taken to a temporary page which shows how your message will look. You then have the option to make alterations. When you're happy, click "Submit Message".
  • You will then be taken to a confirmation page. Note that your message will not appear immediately - it will need to be reviewed first.
