If you like, you can provide an email address with your messages so other users can contact you directly. However no-one can actually see your email address! Keep reading to see how this works...

Blind Email

We use a system called "Blind Email". This means that registered users can send you a private email via a form at this website without ever actually knowing what your address is. Your address is kept secret in the background throughout the whole process. All the person sending the email knows is your username.

Receiving Blind Emails

If you receive an email from a user via The Race Cafe, it will begin with a heading like this:

The message from the user will follow this heading.

Replying to Emails

Do not reply directly to the email. You can use either the form link provided or reply to the email address provided.

Warning: If you reply to a user via email, this is now a direct email communication between you and the other user. The Race Cafe is no longer involved. If you do this, you are revealing your email address. If you don't want to do this, DO NOT reply directly to any email sent via The Race Cafe.

Privacy

These emails are private messages between users. Under normal circumstances we don't even know when they are sent. The Race Cafe's role is simply to provide the connection - we have nothing to do with the content of any of these emails.

However if you enter an invalid email address with your forum messages and someone tries to send you a blind email, it will bounce to us and we will see it. Please be careful to get your email address right to prevent this from happening.

Reporting Abuse

If you receive an email which is abusive, offensive, spam, or in any other way inappropriate, please forward the entire email to us. We can prevent email abusers from using the blind email system and (if necessary) help you take further action.
