Fartoomuch 1,376 Report post Posted May 14, 2018 GREYHOUNDS AND HARNESS, THEY JUST DON’T GET IT At Racenet our mantra is ‘give bettors confidence in their next bet’. It’s a simple enough equation, we provide the best possible information for punters to make an informed opinion as to where they’re going to put their hard earned cash. That being the case, you can only imagine our frustration at dealing with administrators who just don’t get it, stuck in the dark ages? You can bet on that. We have made a commitment to expand our coverage to not only cover horse racing but also the greyhounds and harness, with greyhounds especially having a massive resurgence in popularity. For months now, we have been working on a solution to help greyhound and harness punters find a winner, but we need the assistance of those in high places within the sports. All we are seeking is access to the necessary data so we can complete the model, we don’t want it for free, we are happy to pay, but it’s like running through quicksand and we are getting nowhere fast. Racenet has over seven million unique visitors per year and our research shows 30% of them have at least one bet on the greyhounds or harness races at least once a month, and that’s a serious number of readers! When you look at those numbers, you’d think administrators at both the greys and harness would be falling all over themselves to assist media organisations who are keen to support their product, but here we are trying to help yet we get no assistance at all. You wonder why the lesser racing codes are coming off the back mark, a fair bit of it has to do with those who actual run the show. As we all know information is gold in racing and Racenet lead the way in gallops info by a country mile IMHO
