The next generation

VG Derby winner, given a proper stamina test, this horse improved a good deal. The time was outstanding for races run over the longer trips in the ground to, and he has won by staying. He looks like his sire New Approach who won this in 2008 and he is an extravagant galloper but although a big horse had no problems with the course.

Can you please put up the pedigree of the Derby winner Masar.

By a son of Galileo (New Approach) and from the dam line of Galileo, so a cross of the great mare Urban Sea!

Incredibly close up inbreeding on both sides of the stallions pedigree.  Probably the most under valued part of the pedigree the mares bottom line.

How much of an outstanding influence is Green Desert just a wonderful sire.

Grunt bred on a similar pattern (not quite as close) in terms of inbreeding to superior females.

By O’Reilly and out of a mare that traces back to Hunza (O’Reillys family)

Would love a NZ stud to make a play for him, the sons of O’Reilly are doing a job (Alamosa, Shamexpress, Sacred Falls to come)

And it wasn't born with two heads or five legs! I guess using a human comparison it is your grandmother on your paternal side and your great grandmother on your maternal side being the same person. As humans we are (or were?) allowed to marry first cousins - and often did when communities were isolated and insular, maybe this equine cross isn't that close, however, I wouldn't personally breed horses this close. What do others think?
