This is the second biggest meeting at Auckland for the year yet they just treat it as a country Sunday meeting. I make no apologies - Mr Allen you and your TAB buddies obviously do not have racing at heart. They will get the 25 k from the punters due to the status of the night so even if they had made it 30 K guaranteed I still reckon it would have cost them nothing. When they are guaranteed at a level they tend to get the betting don't they. High take out rate bet as well so why don't they test it more ?? A public trainer with a penchant for the odd bet on golf rang F/O boys to get odds on a certain player whose odds were not currently displayed Our intrepid punter was met by a female voice when he called for a price. Said female would not wake up required person as he was asleep even though the punter wanted a K on a certain player for a top 10 finish All was not lost though as frustrated punter somehow got 200 to win on his pick at 41's.
