He wrote Secretariat..The Making of a Champion Ruffian..Aracetrack romance My Turf....Horses,Boxers,Bloodmoney and The Sporting Life. His book on Secretariat was the basis for the 2010 movie Secretariat. In an earlier life he wrote speeches and news releases for General Westmoreland in Vietnam.
