gubellini 4,004 Report post Posted March 12, 2018 Apparently the Tauranga Club has relinquished it’s date for this Saturday and Rotorua has picked it up. Curious situation. What is going on with NZ Racing?

rdytdy 5,343 Report post Posted March 12, 2018 New Venues for 17 and 24 March Racemeetings 12 Mar Small sections of the turf have been damaged, caused by unusual climatic conditions, which has led to Tauranga being unable to race on either Saturday 17 or Saturday 24 March. This decision was made in association with the club and after taking advice from the Tauranga Track Manager , the NZTR National Venue Inspector and the NZ Sports Turf Institute. This Saturday’s meeting will now be conducted by Racing Rotorua and held at Arawa Park. The rail will be out 1.5m and the distances will now be 2200m, 1560m, 1400m, 1215m. A decision in regard to the Windsor Park Stud Japan Trophy meeting on the 24th, in terms of a replacement venue, will be announced in the coming days. gubellini

There would be cost savings attached. No?

rdytdy 5,343 Report post Posted March 13, 2018 Change 14 Mar The Tauranga race meeting on Saturday 24 March will now be conducted at the Matamata Racecourse, which includes the Group 2 Windsor Park Trophy. As a result of this venue change the scheduled 2100m races will reduce to 2000m. This change has necessitated the trials scheduled for Matamata on Tuesday 20 March to be transferred to Taupo.
