barryb 2,064 Report post Posted March 10, 2018 Admin, I slowed it down frame by frame and the horse moved slightly out and unbalanced him, off he went and then it continued to veer out.

Trump 2,741 Report post Posted March 10, 2018 BarryB you are 100% correct. The horse def jumped to the left BEFORE Hughie was thrown off. Admin must have had too much to drink or if not, he's a great advert for Specsavers. Failing that...Porirua?? Grego

Chris Wood 1,576 Report post Posted March 10, 2018 From an ex average jockeys view, I would say he flanked the horse when he hit it and consequently the horse ducked out and he lost his balance, my thoughts! scooby3051 10,858 Report post Posted March 10, 2018 Winx's jockey Hugh Bowman taken to hospital following fall Last updated 18:48, March 10 2018 GETTY IMAGES Hugh Bowman has been taken to hospital following a fall at Randwick on Saturday. Winx's jockey Hugh Bowman has been hospitalised following a nasty fall at Randwick. Bowman has suffered a suspected concussion after falling from the Chris Waller-trained Performer in race four on Saturday. Performer was the race favourite for the Todman Stakes and was making ground until the incident that occurred with around 200 metres to run. GETTY IMAGES Hugh Bowman's last win aboard Winx came just seven days ago in the Chipping Norton Stakes. Performer appeared to duck out abruptly and the sudden movement was enough to send Bowman into the turf. READ MORE: * Veitch has to settle for second * Banned jockey nears return * Bronze Bonecrusher lives on * How much is Winx really worth? * Jockey causes crash * Trainer 'shocked' to win Auckland Cup Chief steward Marc Van Gestel told AAP that Bowman had briefly lost consciousness. "Hugh is obviously sore and sorry and was unconscious for a short time. "It doesn't appear he has suffered any breaks but he will have X-rays to make sure," Van Gestel said. Stuff understands Bowman also suffered cuts and abrasions. Winx, who is unbeaten in her last 23 starts, was scratched from the Apollo Stakes back in February when Bowman was suspended. But a repeat is unlikely. Winx's next race is scheduled to be in the George Ryder Stakes on March 24 and early indications are that Bowman will be fit to take the ride. Performer was reportedly uninjured. Performer was labelled as one of the leading contenders for the Golden Slipper before his mishap at Randwick on Saturday. Have to agree, thought that first time seeing it, horse didn't veer sideways until he lost balance or stirrup

Trump 2,741 Report post Posted March 10, 2018 I only had to look at the replay once to see what happened, yet Admin has 6 looks and still gets it wrong! That's what happens when one looks through too many key holes!
barryb 2,064 Report post Posted March 10, 2018 Exactly as Chris Wood said, he hit it just behind his left boot and immediately did the below. Frame by frame, case closed.
Gruff 2,790 Report post Posted March 10, 2018 What concerns me here is Admin has obviously paid Crow to concur, look, it’s an opinion and although Admin had a shot of tequila before each replay he didn’t need to stoop low to Crow . Last time I needed Crow he cost me $

skoozi 38 Report post Posted March 10, 2018 4 minutes ago, hesi said: Why would a horse veer away in the first place, usually it is because they are spooked by something like a bird or piece of paper or a crossing on the track, or another horse(there aren't in this case any close to Performer)? At that speed, maybe an insect in the eye ? Who would know. Ask a motorcyclist what happens when you don't have a visor on. Leaving the 150m ran out abruptly, resulting in rider H Bowman being dislodged and suffering a heavy fall. Exceltic and Paquirri, which were following. H Bowman was transported to St Vincent's Hospital for precautionary x-rays and observation. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities.
