Went for my daily walk around 0715,finished around 0800 damp but not saturated. Put my rubbish out ten minutes ago, needed rescueing by lifeguards.Lucky i was wearing a flotation device. chevy86, tasman man 11, richie and 2 others 2

I have been banned from walking in sight of webcams. They reckon i'm carrying too much condition and it takes me too long to get off camera, thereby allowing who knows what to go on out of sight. jess

Don't know but have often wondered how much it would cost to maintain webcams at the major tracks ... there are also people who run their own weather stations with "live" feeds to the net ... so these may even be an option .. That combo might help foster an air of transparency for trainers / owners leading up to raceday? .... chelseacol

Judging by current conditions and it forecast to get worse, they would have to be looking at calling it off by 10am. There would have to be puddles of water on the track. Baz (NZ) 1,719 Report post Posted February 9, 2018 We got more than 17mls overnight north of Te Rapa....and persistent rain today. You're now looking at a possible heavy track by Race 1 or 2.

Baz (NZ) 1,719 Report post Posted February 9, 2018 Te Rapa probably won't race today. Counties will be gone tomorrow...Matamata Trials are fucked and Te Aroha is in doubt. Better nominate south of the Waikato next week trainers! barryb

crustyngrizzly 1,681 Report post Posted February 9, 2018 Seen worse weather than this and Te Rapa has gone ahead. Problem will be if there is any water laying on the track. Also given that this is a gr1 day with Ellerslie looming if they reschedule it could affect the Ellerslie fields. So what do they do? Chris Wood 1,545 Report post Posted February 9, 2018 Surely TeRapa is the one track that can cope. Big money up today so the Jocks will want to ride bless them. Also transparency for punters, who are less likely to "play" if there are doubts about the amount of rain affecting the going and the likelihood of late scratchings. The comments on this and other threads show a comprehensive lack of confidence that clubs give out information, good and bad, with timeliness and forthrightness. jess
barryb 2,062 Report post Posted February 9, 2018 Does this fucking sum up the state of NZ Racing. On course there are NO standard jetbet forms & someone has just been dispatched along the road to the storage facility to get more. 2nd biggest day of the year, what a joke.
