MaggieS 12 Report post Posted January 21, 2018 Where is our industry heading? The 10th abandonment in 23 days. It’s time for our industry to close down tracks. We don’t have the funding to maintain, upgrade or implement improvements on the tracks we have. How do we encourage our owners to invest in an industry that can not provide us with the facilities to support our product? Woodville today was a Good 2 five days out from Raceday. Showers of 3-5 mls were forecast 48 hours ago yet no provisions were put in place to transfer the meeting to an irrigated course. Furthermore, why is a Good 2 being presented in the first place? And why can’t a desision be made prior to 10:42? Basically going forward how do we encourage new clients into the industry? And how do we retain the existing base? It’s time to centralise racing. Build four strathair super tracks in strategic locations, close the rest.
von Smallhaussen 3,226 Report post Posted January 21, 2018 nothing will happen unless Ellerslie is abandoned before the big races next Saturday. Only then will those that only see the little picture start to wriggle. We're Doomed and THE TORCH
