rdytdy 5,341 Report post Posted January 14, 2018 Mike Dillon really should stop drinking before he writes his Herald racing columns. His errors are becoming rife. Today he writes "He is the joint early favourite with the Nigel Tiley trained Demonezation who has had Derby contender tattooed on him since his maiden Tauranga win." Mike, Demonezation got his maiden win on debut at Counties. he then goes on to write: "With heat and exhaustion taking over counting the right number of whip actions from the 100m is not easy." Mike, there is no restrictions from the 100m, the rider has full discretion on the number of strikes from the 100m. gubellini 3,993 Report post Posted January 14, 2018 I think Mike is spending too much time with the makeup department of Trackside TV instead of researching his articles!

It's Demonetization I'm assuming that the Dillon article spelt it "Demonezation" and rdytdy is just quoting his article. Surely nobody would be stupid enough to start a thread pointing out journalistic errors and not taking the time to double check their own post? FYI Dillo was not pulled up on spelling but on incorrect facts in his article. Savvy!! Incorrect spelling one can put up with as long as it makes sense. Incorrect facts are not so forgiving. Chris Wood 1,576 Report post Posted January 15, 2018 Geez your a picky bunch, Bevan was so supportive of Thomas when he first started calling along with Reon and the late Darren. I think he does a great job, the job is not easy, and try and find someone who is passionate and has the industry at heart like Bevan. Not an easy caper, and like most things in life, you improve as you go and learn by your mistakes. chelseacol, Steve Paul, Ethereal and 6 others
gubellini 3,993 Report post Posted February 16, 2018 Poor old Dillo will have to up his game. After Race 3 at Werribee today he said on Trackside TV that he had never heard of the jockey Brian Park. Brian has been riding for 20 years and has ridden 436 winners including a Group One winner- Zip Zip Aray in the Goodwood at Morphettville in 2002. rdytdy 5,341 Report post Posted March 2, 2018 This morning Dillon writes quoting Danielle Johnson re Mission Hill "I wish this race was six months from now." He then writes, Unfortunately, 26 weeks from today Ellerslie will once again host the Great Northern Steeplechase. Wrong Mike, the Great Northern Steeplechase is being run at Te Rapa with Ellerslie shutting down for six months following the Cup next week for track renovations.
