We're Doomed 4,824 Report post Posted December 30, 2017 Isn't it somewhat ironic that many in the industry would have most of the smaller clubs closed down and most racing centred on a few super clubs, and yet just in the last few days we have had massively successful racedays at Taupo and Kurow, with several more to come over the next few days. None of the smaller clubs seem to have cocked anything up so far, in fact the last major cock-up was Te Rapa.
bloke 1,232 Report post Posted December 30, 2017 Agreed WD. Wairarapa must be very happy that they dodged a bullet by not joining Race. If they had joined, by now a significant slice of their beautiful course at Tauherenikau would have been sold off to repay some of Race's massive debt. Trump 2,741 Report post Posted December 30, 2017 Even the old Castlepoint picnic races (during holiday time) enjoyed a nice crowd. Races at holiday destinations during peak holiday periods will normally succeed - if promoted properly.
Sobeit 99 Report post Posted December 31, 2017 We had a great day out at Stratford yesterday, very relaxing atmosphere and a decent crowd on course. The track was in good condition and the overcast weather made it very pleasant temperature-wise. Good family-oriented picnic racing. Well done to the SRC THE TORCH, Huey, Crow and 1 other
