CT"s 310 Report post Posted September 29, 2017 Welcome to The Valley Joao! Misses the kick and never a hope in the running. Let's hope Ernie's mate's horse doesn't emulate him in race 3!!

I thought I'd come out to have a sneak peak at Joao and see Houtzen give her rivals a towelling. Great atmosphere here on Grand Final Eve. Incredible trainer. He's fast becoming the "Bart Cummings" of NZ. Just walked past Regan Bayliss. He's a monster! I reckon short stuff would need 2 phonebooks to look him in the eye! Memphis2 1,078 Report post Posted September 29, 2017 Don't think CT can stop this girl. Not sure what happened to Russian Revolution. Pushed along by Bowman but dropped right out. Crickey the second horse was stiff.

Memphis2 1,078 Report post Posted September 29, 2017 Yes from day one nearly. If I was looking for a rider for my horse I would be picking McEvoy way ahead of Bowman at this stage. Reckon he gassed that favourite last night while McEvoy rode a great race.Big pull in the weights but no one was talking about that pre race. Bowman was before the stewards afterwards so may be an explanation there. CT"s

It was suicide for Bowman to try and lead from that wide barrier (similar to Williams trying to lead on Houtzen at her previous start). Agree, Bowman gets a lot of attention for riding Winx but McEvoy is a more versatile jockey (winning the 1000m Moir last night up to the 3200m Melbourne Cup with Brew & Almandin last year). I reckon McEvoy will ride the winner in the Metrop today.
Brown Fox 867 Report post Posted September 30, 2017 Punters have Joao as warm fav. to win Jockey Challenge today.Could possibly but no way should he be that warm(2.80) Any one of 5 or 6 could win this.Good odds if you can pick it but looks a lottery to me
