cheers vS - checked result on website but overlooked scratching.  TC can sort this out but looks like it doesn't change any outcomes - four people had the scratched horse - Jen and yourself both won anyway and Richie & Punter Pete remain tied

Round 1 - Final results:

Bit of an unsettled round but we got there in the end - thanks for your tolerance.  75% of matches were won by the lower seeded player.  Geoff top scored with an impressive $705.40 with 5 wins and 3 quinellas from 7 races (including two best bet quinellas) - wouldn't want to be playing him in the next round :(

Well done all you "outsiders" who blew us top seeds away, especially Jenlove saving it all for the getout stakes.

Yes Al, seedings counted for bugger all.

From the Penthouse to the Outhouse in one easy lesson...

Well done Steve.

Yep :D

Some of us had the correct strategy, just the execution was a bit off the mark.

Am I correct in saying TC, that 2 people who are adjacent on the listings, cannot play each other, other than in the final, therefore Gordy could only play Steve P in the final

If that Dr Watson had stuck his neck out a bit further it would have been different tho Hesi...that's racing.....

I think that applies to the two at the top (Sarah and KK) and the two at the bottom (Gordy & Steve) but not all adjacent pairs, eg. I think Steve P could meet Jenlove in the semi if Gordy keeps winning.

Another interesting observation - all four Reds who entered are still alive after round 1 - won't be able to say the same thing after round 2.
