Yea i also remember reading something on racenet.com that he has appealed. So probably will be on the topweight tomorrow.

Looks a pretty strong Geelong Cup field this year.Have no idea who i'll be punting on so far.Have had a bit of luck off The Hombre while he was in QLD so he's a possibility. If the track is good then Mr Charlie would have to come into the fray,as he clearly didn't handle the wet track @ Randwick last time out.Moudre would need to improve from his last run.And i know nothing about Drunken Sailor..but ya have to respect that he's trained by one of the bes in Luca Cumani.

The Hombre could cop a sweet trip in this one and evidently has improved since Hawkes Bay. Only 53kg and was only 2.6 lengths from Wall Street last time (a good enough run even allowing for Wall St not being ridden out).

Slightly longer trip will suit and the $17 appeals a bit ....?

BTW you might have to shop around for $17 if you know what I mean

Elsu.

Didnt need zzz to tell you that Mr Charlie is the real deal surely? ]

Firstly, I refuse to say a horse is "the real deal", until it has proven it on a racetrack by winning multiple Group races.

Too many times, a horse gets over-hyped and people begin to believe its a helluva lot better than it really is.

Muskeg Express (pacer going round Canterbury at the moment), is a classic example.

Some horses just have a knack for losing races. Hopefully Mr Charlie isn't one of them.

Mark my words,he will be the real deal...is in the right barn.

I am guessing you are a Cantabrian, Mardy, and was just wondering how the horses down there are coping earthquake-wise...

You read stories that cats, dogs, birds even, all 'anticipated' the big shake. Are horses similar?

Hmmm, I have been around the world more often than Posh Spice has fully digested a meal, heh heh, but I have yet to set foot in either Blenheim or Nelson...

And, anyway, if the Super City can cover as much territory as it does, there's nowt to stop you referring to Blenheim as the northernmost suburb of the new Shaky City...

Hell, many more earthquakes/aftershocks, you'll have Riccarton on your front lawn, Addington by the back porch and Christchurch Casino on your roof...

Muzz...you're not missing much by not coming to either Blenheim or Nelson.Tho i will say..the Blenheim folk are much more friendlier than those Nelson folk that i've come across.I certainly wouldn't mind if all 3 of those venues came rocking close to my joint. :D

Can't agree guys, and no money involved.

Moudre made it's run 5-6 wide around most of that long sweeping Geelong bend, from about the 900m mark.

Not surprising it lacked a bit of ping, it probably covered quite a bit more distance than the winner, but still pressed on pretty well, being only a long head away.

A poor ride by Williams I thought. You can't give that much advantage to horses in this class and expect to win.

I notice he was ridden the same way when he won the listed race 3 starts ago, but then this was another step up.

Yes mate i understand that but his not really a mile a half horse...a mile is his go when the speed is on abit and then he relish that good finish of his...that we have seen in the past...different kettle of fish once you step up in distance..and the tempo aint the same...

Cheers..
