THE TORCH 670 Report post Posted June 16, 2017 Well done to the South Canterbury RC today for using barrier starts in the three events today. Made for clean, safe starts which matched the great finishes. I'm a fan of flag starts but we still have a way to go in this area compared to how effective the British do it. I dont know who came up with the final decision but I know that little or nil feedback was asked of the trainers and jockeys. Wouldnt they be the first ones to go to??!
