Happy Sunrise 554 Report post Posted June 8, 2017 "Embarrassing, not good enough, disappointing, infuriating, unprofessional...and a disgrace" says Mr Guerin. Then he said he expected the starter (Graeme Lamb) to be sanctioned in the Steward's report after the shambolic start to this race. Many on here can you tell you, Mr Guerin, that the chance of the stipes saying something about the starter is slightly less than ZERO. They will not touch their own. To be honest, when he used those words I thought he was talking about the TAB system crashing during the day but they were much more forgiving and apologetic! No idea why

Toblerone 242 Report post Posted June 8, 2017 The starter was questioned, though it wasn't noted in the report. You can't push a false start for horses slow up to arm, provided no other horses are inconvenienced by their slugishness. Given it was all the second line horses effected, there was no reason to call a false start. They should have all been aware of the miobile leaving and get on the gate. Not hard, is it? No consistency - he brings the gate to a stop at Addington if dexter breaks in the score up or is late but group 1 day he puts the throttle down . Then you cannot be serious the gutless stipes would charge one of their own - they just take $300 off juniors for smacking a horse 10.5 times - he should not be a stipe and this is a classic case why he shouldn't . A joke of a start and what about the breakers after the start (trying to catch up) putting off others who were ok at the start . You surely cannot condone this start - should of been re-set and starter fined ! A showcase group one day for harness racing and a total joke of a start .
