TAB Site down ( again)

Maybe it saved some punters dollars but it cost the industry potential stake money.  Given that the TAB Racing Turnover is down 3.5% system outages will only make that figure worse.  Note thoroughbred racing turnover is down 6%!!!

And I didn't get my free $5 today so the TAB must be doing it tough.

And they also risk further alienating long time loyal customers like Hedley and Rumpole which they just can't afford to do. Has there been any official statement from the TAB and/or apology for the inconvenience to internet punters which let's be honest must make up 80-90% of their customer base?

Hi   Ivan ,

On Saturday, 3 June 2017, we had a technical issue which meant our TAB website and mobile app were unavailable between 2:30pm and 4pm.

I know that this was frustrating for everyone who was keen to get their bet on, and that's why I wanted to write to you and personally apologise for the inconvenience you may have experienced during this outage.

We agree that any outage is an outage too many, and can assure you that we're continuing to work on improving our systems and processes to provide a better experience for all of our customers.

Yours sincerely,

Gary Woodham
GM Customer

Breaking news on Radio Trackside. Des Coppins says: we've been getting calls and apparently some people are having trouble putting their bets on. An hour after the fact. No apology for the inconvenience. An hour later, Brilliant Radio Trackside, congratulations to management there, world class media in action.

Listening to Des show on Sunday he knew nothing about it until a caller told him, apparently ??/

Did he ever report back after him Gary woodham and some other bloke from the racing board were going to get together and discuss the current format of the form guides in the paper?

You guys are starting to sound like the opposition party .If we were honest it's 100% better than 30 years ago but plenty of room for improvement.

That's the whole problem - they have no opposition. Jim Leach told me 20 years ago that is what they needed and he was 100% right., It's actually 1000% WORSE than 30 years ago, because 30 years ago they had no sports betting so their system could cope.

Dear Sarah,

The New Zealand Racing Board, which runs the TAB, is currently seeking feedback through a quick online survey.

The survey will be sent on Tuesday 13th June and will be open for responses until midnight Friday 23rd of June. It will take about 15-20 minutes to complete.

As an acknowledgement of the commitment this survey requires, all those who complete this survey will go into the draw to win one of five $100 account top ups.

I agree, more of OUR money is being wasted.

Can't the idiots read Race Cafe and then act on the advice given for free?

Too easy for simple folk, but TOO HARD for the highly paid excutives, most of which are ex NZ Post failures.

Just my opinion.

Amazing, and to think they could have done surveymonkey.com and set this up themselves for free.

Also a customer satisfaction survey is a bit like a mystery shopper, if you feel you need it you probably already know they answers it is going to give you.  NZracing/TAB your service is awful!!

I was going to say that you might do that if the money to pay the bill was coming out of your own pocket, but when it's not you can just spend up large.  Then I thought I better check out Gemba's website first.  Looks like money well spent.  I am expecting a massive turnaround in betting turnover in the next few months now that these guys from Gemba are on board providing NZRB management with a deeper understanding and insights into what is going on with their customers.  Great stuff.  I will sleep easy tonight.
